I may have to pick one of those up....
I thought you were out of the ground-based speed game! LOL! If you do, just let me know when you wanna run. It's been too long, my friend.
I'm jealous man. I'm going to have to add one to my collection.
They are truly awesome!
Great video bro and unboxing, very Nice 👌 thanks for sharing , LOVED EVERY MINUTE 👍😎😍👍
Thanks, Bro!
Perfect Video👍 I subscribed
Thank you!
1) Why did you multiply 160A by 2 to arrive at 320A?
2) Why edit out your experience with the currents you were able to pass through it?
1) Castle is notoriously conservative about the amount of current that their ESC can handle. This class of ESC is rated for a continuous current of 160 amps, so the rule of thumb is that these ESC will handle burst currents of at least twice they're continuous current. That's how I arrived at 320 amps.
2) I edited out my real world numbers because I didn't want to guarantee people that they would see the same numbers that I saw. The maximum amount of current that your batteries will flow is highly dependent upon the batteries you are running. These Castle ESCs will pretty much take your batteries to their limit. The Mamba Monster X 8s has demonstrated that it will flow up to 400 amps in the real world (matching the old XLX) but the Mamba XLX2 has now demonstrated in excess of 550 amps on lots of setups. These numbers are actually higher than I have seen personally, but I haven't been driving mine quite as hard as some of the guys out there. I didn't want to bias people into thinking the ESC were limited in performance because I chose to be conservative with my gearing settings.
Awesome video brother!!!!
I appreciate it, bro! Let's try to make these things sing!
What? 4000uF built in!! Crazy, but good! Great preview man!
It's a tough piece of hardware! Thanks for watching.
👍I used to know an rc guy
Thanks for watching!
Hey there! Yes just got one myself for my xmaxx going run it with stock motor so are in the middle on order. 6700 Traxxas batterys.
And going run it the proline double light bar. My local hobby shop is installing it in. What do you thank about that?
Proline makes great stuff. Keep me posted.
Nice buddy good stuff
Thanks you, sir! and thanks for watching!
Great 👌👍
Thanks 😊
Your video is really great and awesome, Love the way you decorate your content. SUBBED👍. Keep Update
Thanks!
I like the size
It's definitely a serious piece of hardware. Thanks for watching!
Hey wassup brutha. Trying to find out why my XLX2 keeps flashing yellow. Any 💡idea? Plus calibration will not begin like traditional calibrations where you hold the trigger when powering on. I have to wait for the first tones and quickly press and hold the throttle trigger to start calibration.
I've never encountered this problem, but I'm pretty sure Castle Tech support will be able to get you sorted out. Let me know how it goes.
Awesome videooo broo :)
Thanks! And thanks for watching. 😁
I do have a question though it’s about the mamba monster X8 versus the max five which one has more Rall power
The MMX 8S logs up to 400A, so I believe it is the winner here. Phillip Jolley did a series of tests with the MMX vs. a Hobbywing ESC in the same TP motor-equipped car. I can't remember if it was a Max5 or 6, but the Castle easily handled the load while the Hobbywing cut out mid run.
Awesome vid as always bro! Question, what's the bolt layout footprint for mounting (screw hole to screw hole)?
It's got four 3mm mounting holes laid out in a 40.2mm x 46mm rectangle, same as the XL2 & XLX
Thank you sir
Hi mate I have just received my xlx2 and I have hooked it all up had it running for 2 minutes then the esc shut down and now it’s not responding. Fan comes on but nothing else works no lights on the esc.
Just wondering if you had any ideas
Call Castle Support on Monday. They will help you diagnose it and send you a new one if it's dead. Sorry you had an issue, but keep me posted.
@@RCPhysics
I had the same thing happen to my xlx2 it was working fine then nothing
Went back to the hobby store their gona swap it out for me with a new one I don’t understand what the issue is with these things why can’t castle admit something is wrong and do a recall and replace all the faulty units?
How much wider is the xlx2 vs xlx ?
I don't have the exact dimensions on me right now, but they are listed on the Caste Creations homepage, so you can check that out there. www.castlecreations.com/en/mamba-xlx
Now can you run this esc on a nonsenor motor.
Of course! it actually has some cool internal tech to make it cog a lot less with sensorless motors than the previous versions.
Nice vid and thanks for the info when will they be available to public thanks...
First units start shipping early October.
@@abulimicdog1 Ok thanks ill look into one thanks..
It looks like Thomas got you all squared away. Thanks for watching!
I’ve heard rumors that this thing can handle 800amps. 😳
I've heard similar rumors. 😎
🦅👍👍🦅
Thanks!
Hmm my next crawler esc ??
Could be. 😎
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💎
How can I buy one?
Here you go.

Dang, are you like a R+D tester? Or just a dude castle has test their stuff? You get the scoop on any upcoming products?
I'm just a dude that Castle respects enough to ask opinions of from time to time. ;-)
Still doesn't have inbuilt anti-spark. So ahead of it's time 🙄🤣🤣
I think the >600A output capability isn't really compatible with built-in anti-spark. 😉
Im plaeased with what i see ;] But im suprised its 160amp rated not 200 like usuall 1/5 esc but i belive it can rl handle 1/5. Now i just have to wait for you to break it -> castle to make it stronger and release it :D
Sadly i live in Poland so it will take ages for it to get to my second world country xD
You pretty much have to ignore Castle Ratings here. This is partially why they don't provide actual rating data since there is so much variance int he real world. This ESC will handle as much current as any battery on the market is able to give. ;-)
Bashers United coming out of retirement?
That would be awesome!
How on earth do you only have 4K subs? Froblobblebobblebob.... I iz confusificated.
I think I don't make enough clickbait. 😂
Thanks for the compliment!
Says not in stock
I would check back in a couple of days. They may have sold out all their initial pre-orders, but this is going to be a hot item so they should have more soon.
I should see some one beat the rc world record of 202mph so with this I don't think so all a hype xlx2 a joke
I think it's the real deal and a really solid improvement over the xlx.
Cool video. Need to clip your nails brother
😱
Dude, as long as he's got really clean hands (which he has), I don't mind one bit :)
Fire hazard
Castle has found themselves in a weird position on this ESC. Guys want to be able to push it to its absolute limit, so they let them.... which means lots of guys push them beyond their limits into catastrophic failure. 😥
"Best ever" if they could fix their problems with them just catching fire or just stop working. Castle ESCs in general tend to be far too unreliable although they give impressive power and performance. The performance of Castle ESCs are far overshadowed by their tendency to just stop working at anytime. With Castle ESCs you are always living on borrowed time.
You have to remember, most of us are pushing these ESCs WAAAAAAAY outside of their rated performance. Castle is essentially a small business and tries hard to build products that we can turn around and beat the living snot out of. They try to use their beta testers to find issues before they go onto the market, but it's impossible anticipate every over-the-top setup we enthusiasts will end up using in the real-world.
Think about it this way. What other ESCs can handle even a fraction of this abuse. There's a reason guys keep coming back to Castle, even when they stumble. Fortunately, they stand by their products and try to make it right when there is a problem.
@@RCPhysics I bought two combos from Amain Hobbies.A Mamba Monster 2 and 2200kv motor and A Mamba Monster x and 2200kv motor. The mamba monster 2 I only put in a 6s battery and the ESCs was sounding like it was going to fail and I quickly took it out. After that the ESC wasn't working for some time and then it just started working for about 2 weeks and then stopped forever. That was after a month. I decided to use the Mamba Monster x and never put it on 6s and after two weeks that ESC just stopped working forever. So within a month and a half two Castle ESCs just stopped working. The ironic thing about it was before I setup my Castle system I started reading forums where people were talking about how unreliable they were. I was afraid to even use it with justification as I saw now. Both my ESCs just failed within a month and a half.
I've had a Hobbywing Max 8 and 2250kv 6s motor in my Rustler and used on 6s all the time for 6 months and never had an issue with it. Then I bought a Max 6 and a TP 4070cm 2200kv 8s motor which I use mostly 6s and 8s although Hobbywing strictly says not to use anything higher than 1500kv motor with it and I've been running this system for almost a year now and have never had an issue. Also bought it from Amain Hobbies.
Did you contact Castle for a replacement. If they weren't abused, Castle would replace them.
@@RCPhysics I did they gave me a facebook link but it wasn't working. I mentioned to the guy it wasn't working and he sent me a next one that wasn't working. I just forgot the whole episode and Castle to.For me to buy Castle now I have to hear stellar reviews about a particular product.
