    I’ll try to keep this short, but I have to say it... James Baxter is my hero. 💜 I loved watching animated movies as a little kid, (and still do,) but Spirit was very special to me. I watched the movie and the bonus feature video of him showing how to draw Spirit, a million times. It sparked my passion to grow as an artist and eventually draw like him. His video had drawing tips that I still remember and use today. I had a passion to teach myself how to draw, and that passion still burns in me to this day, as I now have started to make my own animations on Adobe Animate/Flash in my senior year of high school, and prepare to major in illustration this fall. I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have art in my life. And part of that is thanks to James Baxter. Someday I’ll have to thank him in person.

    Hey, the animatic looks good so far. Not sure how much time you have left, but whenever I work on any type of big project I find it helps to just walk away for a few days and come back with a fresh set of eyes.
    Good luck.

    James Baxter is probably one of the greatest animators of all time, probably the Milt Kahl of our day in terms of animation quality, James even said he was inspired by Milt.

    bro the key of any good animation, movie, shorts, cartoon anything is the story it self, if the story is bad then what ever come next even if the animation is perfect no one will care . it wont matter if the quality is good or not , still it wont hurt if the quality is fine, but after spending the time getting the story right.
    the one that will capture your audience then jump to what ever come next , your plot is your key , your premise ! good luck and I also like your animation

    Wow it’s looking great so far. Still no animation done on my side 😔 but getting lots of drawing done for now. Also trying to save up for a iPad so I can do some actual animation & not my Nintendo DSLX that has the flip note studio. Pretty much got most of the basics done on there just need more practice. Thank you for sharing & much love

    It's interesting in how you use process that doesn't break copyright although it's hard to find the right people to acquire the rights. I like animation example that came from someone you keep in touch with. The fps is yet in a draft, but has a quality of smooth movement. I believe what I saw was at 24fps which the normal standard for 2D animations.

  • @cvanims
    @cvanims 6 років тому +5

    It's so weird--when you mentioned characters showing thought, I immediately thought of Robert De Niro and how his eyes can tell how his body is going to act next, and not only did you mention studying actors, but you mentioned Robert De Niro AND studying their eyes for movement.

    I have a request!
    Do you Know how animators draw battle scene and the character fist's are going so fast that it gives the illusion that there is multiple fist's
    Could you do it animation tutorial on how to do that???? Pls

    • @gabriellas_fan
      @gabriellas_fan 5 років тому +1

      Ik this is a year late, but if you still need advice lol.
      I think when that happens in animation, it’s not just an illusion that they have multiple hands, I think the animators actually draw separate hands to tie the animation together. They’re called animation smears if you’d like to look up more about them.
      (I’m not rlly sure how they work, since I’m still a beginner, but I hope this was a start to answer your question!)

    yo, i have been loving animation as a whole for a while, and i recently decided that i wanted to animate, specifically i wanted to combine my love for music and animation and make my own animated music video. i know my goal is very ambitious, and would take any good animator a long time, but i would like your opinion, where should i start?

    I agree with most of what you said except the line milage thing my animation/art teacher says that it usaully leads to what he refers to as an *deluxe pizza*. And you can easily loose yourself in the lines/details. So while maybe good for illustratating not so much for painting and animation. Or did you mean milage just as in practising ? Because if that's the case ignore my comment.

    Good animation do 12 principles animation. Great animation clean line with Arc smooth movement with no relying on draft trulyonly finishing consistent linework of straith ahead technique of movements that brings life and consciousness of character.
