Marsupials are mammals. They are just not placental mammals like most mammals (us) are. There are three types of mammals: Marsupials, Placentals, and Monotremes. Stephen thinks he gets everything right. He gets multiple things wrong every show.
There are some horrific stories about the rise of male on female violence--including at least one serial killer--during that period in the UK, too. Not just Britain, either. For the longest time, my grandfather, who worked as a scientist during WW2 in Australia, absolutely despised America and everything American. He was a gentle, logical man, so as an 80s child, I could never understand why he was so bigoted. It wasn't until after he died that my grandmother told me that she'd had to treat a very large number of Australian women in Sydney for the aftereffects of SA by the American servicemen who were stationed there. And not just women--who were often horrifically maimed by their attacker. Apparently, men who were stationed "at home" were considered cowards, so she treated a lot of injuries in men, too (some of who were not allowed to serve, because scientists or essential workers)--both from physical and SA. Apparently one of these men was a man grandad worked with. He almost died from being, erhm, impaled by a steel pipe. By an alleged ally.
@@Bethgael thank-you so much for that insight. You never hear about bad guys on the allies side like they were all heroes and the only bad guys were with the Nazis
@@HoodaThunkit-sj3lk It's really horrifying, isn't it. I remember being shocked, because we're so immure in WW2 being "good guys against bad guys" (and let's face it, in this case at least, that was at least politically true, because genocide is Not Good) that we just don't think of the fact that individually, people can be just awful to each other, and war creates those opportunities.
@@Bethgaelwe do always see it as good guys vs bad guys, when there really is a lot of nuance to it, honestly I think there were certainly some bad people on the German side, we just only hear the good parts, from what I understand there were some criminals housing Jews, if more people knew this, maybe they’d realize the truth.
Gyles was spot-on with Fanny Cradock
Craddock.
@ripdbtpoo1441 one D. Look it up.😉
Marsupials are mammals.
So are monotremes, so they're doubly wrong. Monotremes are mammals, but not marsupials.
yeah that clip annoys me so much everytime it comes up. Stephen is often wrong, but his persona on the show is infallible.

I've seen engagement rings available as rent-to-buy in Rent-a-Center, just in case it doesn't work out.

Its a twitch?
That's a terrible thing for British people to do each other while Hitler was bombing them. Shameful.
