Just such a beautiful person. Can’t say it simply enough. Yesterday I just read “Remembering Paul Auster” over at Literary Hub website. So moving those tributes from his friends and family. I can’t recommend them enough. Kind of blown away still: what a gift for friendship he had. His writing and his words continue to mean so much to me. To quote one of Auster’s favorite poets, George Oppen: a stone on a stone, something balanced momentarily, in time might the lion Lie down in the forest, less fierce And solitary Than the world, the walls Of whose future may stand forever.
