- We just got home from our first cruise in August 2023 on Norwegian cruise line, and it took us all the way to Cannes France for day 2 on the Norwegian Epic for an 11 day Mediterranean cruise. Come along as we experience cruising on Norwegian Cruise line. Lets go cruising!!!

We did tenders in Mykonos...they were not lifeboats, open air...very well organized and easy to find to get back to the ship, so I guess it depends what port you land.
Definitely depends on the port and what transfer services, if any are offered. In Kotor we had an open air, but others on the cruise had life boats.
Love that you got off the ship and just explored! Do not miss such great things to just see the ship

In Cannes, we've only booked excursions through NCL so didn't have the same experience since they take off the excursion folks first. We did have a super long delay getting back onto the ship, however, the first time we did this itinerary. Having said that, the tender situation in Kotor was just as frustrating. Unfortunately, we anchored over a mile away instead of being close to the main gates, so it took forever too. The lengthy delay meant we had very little time to wander around Kotor. Then we coming back to the ship we were put onto a city-operated book that was totally enclosed with plexiglass, so it must have been 120 degrees in there. We roasted!
We tendered to Cabo San Lucas with DCL earlier this year and it was quick and easy. Hopefully your next tendering experience will be better!

Apologies, I don't believe I had the R in there as I said it how the gentleman at the coffee shop pronounced it when I asked him. But agreed that it is respectful to try and learn what you can before going, or asking a friendly local if in doubt. Again, sorry if that was wrong. That was not my intent

How long it take from port to the city in Cannes?
It will be different for everyone depending on how long the line is for the tender boats, but I believe ours was about 45 minutes with waiting in line.
I did not think breaks at Moderno were a thing...
The story goes that only one man has been able to consistently keep up with the servers, this man was made king of the Norwegian Epic and is the only person allowed a door to their bathroom

You have to pay extra, but we got 2 free specialty dining credits when we booked so we used one here

Great video. How much time do they give you in Cannes? What time do you have to be back on board?
Depends on what your itinerary is exactly. I believe we were docked (anchored) for about 8 hours. We were out there for about 3.5-4 hours and were back in plenty of time
