Tbh i have always hated Rafael and landon lol and, sorry but no hes no where near like bonnie in any way. Bonnie has given up her life and magic just to protect her freinds and some vampires she met for months. I honestly think Julie Plec only gives the best storylines/more screen time to actors/characters that are her favorite. That's why Alaric was able to come back in TVD/for Legacies; he was one of her favorites. The characters she finds less interesting take a backseat. That's what I think.

Well Raf is the 'Bonnie' of the show. It sucks that Raf potential was never realised, why even bring up the King Arthur relation. Raf is still technically alive in the Prison world so I think we will see him in the future, maybe future episodes but don't know if he will come back as a regular series. I guess this is how they wanted to end Raf storyline in season 2 probably as the finale but due to corvid-19, it didn't happen.
He is not the Bonnie of the show. I mean for starters he would need to be in the show a lot more to be the Bonnie of the show. Secondly, he would need a martyr complex that he does not have. Like all of Bonnie's family/love interests die to serve her so called friends. She died several times for these people. Raf has not died for everybody. His family is fine. Like I get it. We are still bitter about Bonnie. We still don't trust Julie Plec with black characters. All valid. But we don't have to lie. The truth is this is nothing like the Bonnie situation on TVD. I mean regardless of whether or not you hated it, Bonnie had plotlines. She was an integral part of the mythos. See the way we the show still talks refers to Bonnie? Raf's character was not that. Like day one and the writers had no idea what to do with his character. They would struggle to give this man a shred of a storyline, and it would fizzle out within the episode. And then they completely gave up season 2, they would just write him off. Oh he's a wolf. Oh he's with his dad. Come on. You can be sad about him leaving, but acting like this is Bonnie 2.0 is a lie.
i mean they tried to do the love triangle thing in s1 because of the promotional pictures of raf, landon and hope & peyton and danielle did a chemistry read so i think it was suppose to go farther but julie just messed it up & gave hope so many love interests which isn't a bad thing, i would love to see her explore her sexuality and options. its kinda bittersweet, i'm glad he's living the normal life he always wanted. but in a article they said this isn't the last will see of him so i think he'll either be in the finale of the season or maybe s4 if it gets renewed.

I was done with this show after I kept on seeing unrealistic monsters and powers...the plotline is just too childish for my adult mind

I could tell they were getting rid of his character in season 2 bc he didn’t have a lot of screening time I think he still might come back tho but I think there isn’t enough screening time for every main character and since Raf never really had a storyline they found a way plus Jenny said there’s supposed be some new faces this season
