Both were wandering over to Mallorca. I heard that Robert flew there along with his mother and enjoyed the vibes. Daevid was a consummate beatnik by that time, a cosmic rover
Just read about this in Prog Magazine's extra/insert. A blurb/email from Robert Wyatt to Daevid Allen "just weeks before he died." I'm a Crimson and ELP freak but I've never heard Gong's or Soft Machine's music. (I've heard of the bands, just not their music.)
You can see him at 0:03 in the video at the far right talking to Daevid who's holding a glass. You can see him again at 0:16 in the background smoking beside Daevid.
this put a smile in my face!!!!
RIP, Daevid
Wow this is something else very very young these folks were. A 19 year old Wyatt and 26 year old Allen.
Awesome.
Thanks

Excellent! How tall does Daevid look there! I expect he was credited as Christopher Allen, back then.

This was five years ago, I hope you have enlightened yourself since by listening to Soft Machine´s 3rd and Gong´s You.
And "Little Red Record" by Wayatt's band Matching Mole. It was produced by Robert Fripp.
@@joeheadblues Oh yes! Soft Machine Third and Gong You are both my favorite albums from those bands!
Surprise.
I didn't manage to match robert.. is he the one who tries talking to the girl?

Too bad Daevid Allen is no longer with us.
