Just want to nerd out about her technique for that high belt for a sec-- every performance Ive seen of this, she consistently sticks out her tongue for the "hard to be 16..." belt and OMG its wonderful because it releases all of that tension that could hold her back from singing those notes in tune with a belt. Anyways... shes wonderful 🥹
Best. Love. Song. EVER!!! I keep watching it over and over and I cant stop laughing! Alli's version is by far the best. (then again I guess it would be since she's the one who made the character...)
@@SingSongSavy i haven’t seen the whole musical, so this was quite insightful and that does make a lot of sense, so thanks for letting me know! However, as someone who has dealt with self harm (but not schizophrenia btw) i still find that the part of her revealing her arms and everyone laughing was extremely unsettling and i stand by that.

@@Sophassofa the fact that they made a joke about self-harm and played the whole song for laughs is pretty offensive for people who actually have severe mental illnesses, but considering this was released in 2012 the creative team probably did not understand the severity of their actions. If this song was performed today, it would still be as entertaining but it probably would be taken more seriously and not done comedically. So yes, it's technically supposed to be funny but considering how rapidly mental health is being more openly discussed, and especially mental health representation in media, watching the song being performed comedically from a modern-day perspective is really bad. Mauzy's performance is still incredible though, her vocals are outstanding
jax it’s satire. Yes, maybe it is insensitive but so are most jokes. But the entire song is about her mental illness. Sometimes i think people are too sensitive today though everything seems to be insensitive. Is it the best joke? No. But a joke nonetheless? Yes. But there’s worse that people have just blatantly accepted
She’s so flat?? It sounds so weird~~ for a fact she’s *incredibly* talented u’ll see in other performances but this is so bad it’s crazy she’s so so incredible in any other performance
this is not bad at all. the piano is definitely flat, she is flat in only a few places, but i'm pretty sure it's on purpose. in this song, lenora is supposed to be screaming. so i'm pretty sure it's an acting choice and tbh, it works

I've honestly considered singing this for my boyfriend...not sure if he'd take it the right way though...
Ryan Rosenberg what did you do ?
Does he know he's your boyfriend tho?
Kareem Abdel Hakam I ended up singing it for him! He loved it, lol
CuntFucker Prime Yes, he did know I was his boyfriend, though we aren’t together anymore these days.
@@icypeanutpolo Just joking. Hope it didn't bother you
This is hysterical. I love Alli Mauzy. I would not have expected from this song that she'd be such an amazing soprano as G(a)linda.
UM i am obsessed with alli mauzey
she's a powerhouse
Dang the piano was so flat. I feel bad

How come she performed this at an "At This Performance" concert? Alli has only ever worked as a Standby for Glinda in "Wicked." Just curious! :D
She played her on Broadway she wasn't a standby
You correct. She did play the role on Broadway! However, before playing the role full time she was a Standby!
she actually originated the role of Lenora, and she was in the superman musical.
she kinda looks like Kerry Butler is it just me?
@Sofie Forsythe I’m glad I’ve cleared that up for you lol😂
