The video is very didactic. You mention a topic that is present but not much is said about the future of the cameras and as well as their maintenance. The available parts will be scarce and there will be a time when they cannot be repaired.
I really enjoy your video's, very informative and to the point! My first Minolta was the XG-7, I let a friend use it back in the 80's and it was returned broken. To say the least that was the Last time I ever let anyone borrow a camera. I did have it serviced and repaired and it is still working today. A couple of questions I have for you. Do you work on other accessories, like a Minolta MD-1? Mine stopped winding or intermittent at best and it is a point of frustration. The second, is there a list of common Minolta parts that my be interchangeable between models ie rewind knobs, advance levers etc.? Looking forward to the next video!
Hello. Unfortunately, we don't work on camera accessories at all. As far as parts compatibility is concerned, same manufactures do share various parts between models, and you have to look at the MFG part number to determine compatibility. As far as I know there is no uniform list that shares that information, you just have to rely of the repair manual for part number.
I’ve inherited an XD11 model but after putting batteries in, it doesn’t seem to power on. The shutter do not fire at speed other than O (1/100s) or B. The LED inside the viewfinfer do not power on as well. Ive checker the red wire the connects the battery compartment to the bottom circuit board and it seems ok (connected and not corroded). What could I do to diagnose the problem?
Check to see if there is any obvious signs of corrosion or oxidation on the battery cap. If there isn't, try a new battery. Beyond that, the camera will require professional evaluation.

@@JorgeGarcia-oi4fy Fair point. Just wanted to bring attention to what type of problems we can still service and replacement parts we can obtain.
