In Australia its illegal not to have a pool fence and inspectors come around to check that its up to code. I think it should be illegal world wide not to have one. Drownings in the pool in Australia are of the lowest worldwide because of our strict rules.
Australia is run by sensible politicians, some Americans don't understand that thoughts and prayers don't save children: banning guns and preventing accidental death saves children's lives.
@@JMC101Ann exactly right. We had a massicare and they banned guns straight away. Kids drown, we make every have fence around there pool or massives fines. America needs to step up and think about about the deaths that have happened there that could of been prevented.
Awww he's in his strange phase where every adult apart from his parents are just strange to him. I love your videos! Funny and sweet and very real when you're in a serious mood. Laura and Steven keep the videos coming
He loves his mommy and daddy, he sure let you guys know he's not ready for the swimming lady yet, lol. You're so blessed ❣️ to have such a beautiful happy and healthy little boy. I love your videos, just brightens my day, xx ♥️♥️♥️
A lot of kids carry on at first with new ppl etc... but, if they keep coming back then they soon get used to the new person. So many kids in swimming classes cry too but, persistence does pay off. Hence why under 1year old or sometimes up.until the age of 1 and a half they do Mum's and bubs swimming classes with the little ones.
I've been teaching swim lessons for almost 10 years now, and I agree with Laura 100%. Pool fences are a MUST, but not enough. TEACH YOUR CHILD TO SWIM AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE!!!! Good luck Alfie. You'll be an Olympic swimmer in no time!
He will love the instructor She will be like his best friend after a while !! By the way now I ficially own every piece of your merch except for toddlers but I never got the socks again Never stop what you're doing you help so many people !!!!!!!
I agree, I don't understand why people with or without kids don't have a fence around the pool. Bc even without kids, you never know if a neighborhood kid will get in your yard. I have a friend whose niece drowned in there above ground pool years ago. So sad and preventable. Alfie is so adorable. He just needs time getting to know his swimming instructor. I bet he'll become a regular fish.
My grandson had swimming lessons from a few months old, they stopped in March due to the Covid lockdown but started again last week. He's a real water baby 💦 and was even unfazed by his recent first visit to the beach, he loves swimming and also paddling now that he's started walking too. So happy you've got a fence up around your pool. Safer and gives piece of mind.
Go go go Alfie! yes, scary statistics for child pool deaths....which are NOT funny you are right! Nice for you to cover this serious issue!!! Thank you!
Such a great message. I won’t share stories but I worked in a hospital in the 80s and my best friend was an ER nurse. Just know this is one of the most responsible and important posts you have posted. Pool safety and teaching a child about water safety super extra big time important!!
I get it's probably part of the standard instructions, and I've no doubt she is an awesome instructor... but times are so weird lately, if someone started shoving a bizarre doll in my direction as well, I'd probably have a meltdown too. ;)
I am so happy to see you show everyone how to save lives. Do you have pool inspections in the uk? In Australia you can't have a pool without a fence and they must be inspected to ensure this. I am so glad you have been caring parents and done this. It is wonderful that the fence is mesh because I have seen lots of kids climb the fence and drag items over to climb up on to get in. The reason for lessons are to teach your baby to swim to the side if they do fall so they can save themselves-my mum did this for all of us and it is amazing to watch little toddlers fall in, dog paddle to the side and clamber out. Pool noodles are also a great addition. Please do more of these videos knowing you are helping so many people, preventing deaths and enjoying the fun of your pool with safety as your number one is so wonderful.
She lives in the USA. Not UK. UK don't really have outdoor pools unless you're on a holiday site. The weather isn't great most of the time so it would get little use to make up the cost for the average person. The ultra rich like celebs houses tend to have indoor pools though. But like I said that's only for the ultra rich and isn't common, much like air conditioning.
awww it’s so sad in these covid times that very children aren’t able to socialize & poor Alfie is not comfortable with new people. All though it goes well that he won’t talk to strangers. He is so adorable. My youngest grandson was born 20April so around same age as Alfie, it’s nice to watch their milestones. 😍
Alfie is so adorable and I love his little voice!! I recommend ISR (infant self rescue) swim lessons. They teach children how to float on their back to keep themselves from drowning. I realize that could be what the instructor will be teaching, but you didn’t specify.
Well yeah, but they also don't "breathe" in the womb so while many babies love being in warm water they cannot swim on their own as they haven't needed to breathe while I'm water b4
I was so water shy as a baby but when I got swimming lessons at 5yo I quickly fell in love with water^^ My brothers on the opposite loved bathing and water as babies, but were very water shy when they were supposed to learn swimming at 5yo. But our parents insisted on swimming lessons until we were all able to swim properly, it's so important. Drowning is such an unnecessary death, especially in not moving waters. Plus it's a great exercise
He looks EXACTLY like his mommy in this video. I'm curious to see whom #2 will look like when he or she arrives early - mid next year. Will be so awesome if Laura has a girl this time. She is such an awesome boy mom though. Either way, Laura, I mainly hope #2 is healthy and happy, whatever the gender.
Laura, the mom advocate WANTS YOU TO KEEP (YOUR) CHILDREN SAFE AF!!!! Also, I would love to see Alfie's face at 16 watching these videos. Keep them on at the ready when he brings his first girlfriend or boyfriend home.
Stranger Danger phase...my daughter who is 19m is going through it right now. Her brother who almost is 3 never went through it though. He will outgrow that phase soon 😊
Hes so not bothered by the 3 adults running circles around him😂😂😂. He had you guys performing!!!
My son didn't want to be touched in the pool. He taught himself and he turned into such a good swimmer!
All of the dislikes are from the people that are blinded by Alfie’s cuteness! 🥺😊
Very true!!!!😍😍😍
Alfie is without a doubt the CUTEST thing ever. And good on you, Laura, keeping him safe ❤💜💙💚💛

Alfie is so so cute!! Walking and swimming.... Smart boy!! X
I was seriously thinking yesterday how hard it’s going to be for him to be introduced to a new person.
Thank you for spreading Awareness on such an important issue. As always I really enjoyed this video

I love Alfie! He’s so adorable!

He is far too cute!!

Fact: Did you know that babies can naturally swim; in the womb, it's watery or something, so they're use to water all around them!

Yes but has to be less 1 year old
