And that song was probably one of the first pop songs that I really felt was there for me during that time. Maybe it's because I was young, living in Southern California, and all that. But I think the popularity of the song might have a lot to do with the time, and those of us who were actually young adults when it came out.

13:47 I'm around the same age as you, and Californication will always remind me of summer break when I was a kid. I remember the music video for Californication, with the band entering a video game, it was quite weird but memorable!
You put a good amount of thought into this ranking. More than some of the albums deserve. I'm older than you, so my rankings are bit different at the top: 1. Blood Sugar Sex Magic 2. Mother's Milk 3. Californication All could be S or A tier for me.
This list is pretty much the same as my list. Except for the two latest albums. I would classify both of them as at least a B. I really like both of them a lot.
RHCP Albums Ranked (Format: Album - Favorite Song - Least Favorite Song) 1. Stadium Arcadium - Stadium Arcadium - C'mon Girl 2. Californication - This Velvet Glove - Right On Time 3. Blood Sugar Sex Magik - The Rightous & the Wicked - The Greeting Song 4. By the Way - Venice Queen - Cabron 5. Mother's Milk - Taste the Pain - Fire 6. Unlimited Love - It's Only Natural - Poster Child 7. One Hot Minute - Shallow Be Thy Game - Deep Kick 8. Return of the Dream Canteen - Show Me a Smile - My Cigarette 9. The Getaway - Goobye Angels - This Ticonderoga 10. The Uplift Mofo Party Plan - Fight Like a Brave - Party on Your Pussy 11. I'm With You - Annie Wants a Baby - Even You Brutus? 12. I'm Beside You - Victorian Machinery - Hometown Gypsy 13. Freaky Styley - Brother's Cup - Battleship 14. The Red Hot Chili Peppers (Self-Titled) - Buckle Down - Police Helicopter
Californication to stadium arcadium is peppers peak by a wide margin, everything else before and after you can pretty much throw away and i‘d be fine. Not that i find all that stuff bad, it‘s just that i wouldn‘t miss it at all.
Im inspired to fully go through their discography. I have never been exactly a fan of theirs but some of those radio hits give me fond nostalgic memories of the late 90s and early 2000s. This is going to be interesting. Im not a fan of that funk white dude groovy man stuff at all, those 80s albums might be rough to listen through!
Really interesting points I'm also with you😃 Here some of my points of view: One Hot Minute: Welp Navarro was a completly different Guitar Player but I like most of the experimental weirdish tracks on it. Stadium Arcadium: When I was listening first on the release year, I was like, it's just good. Years after I realized the many guitar layers John was using. I'm with you: I just know Klinghoffer mostly on guitar/bass/drums/singing work on Frusciantes Solo Records or the Super Group Ataxia, which was a complete different type but it suited well. I'm with you was to me a big dissapointment. The Getaway: Was kinda a bit better but also not so well. Unlimited Love & Return to Dream Canteen: Very repetitive how the songs are created, kinda boring, I just like 3 tracks on each on it but that's it. Californication: Was my Album which blews off my mind and it's even high up, so I don't care a lot on By the way. That's all Josh 🙂
I think a lot of it has to do with how how old you were when you found them. Because I’d put 89-95 in the top and the older stuff under that and newer down at the bottom. Never a huge fan but wouldn’t ever turn them off if it was on the radio or empty v!
meh i donno i just couldn't do that white-boy hyper funk stuff for very long, i like them more as an Alternative Rock band rather than their funk stuff
I pretty much agree but I do enjoy the early stuff a lot more than you do. Stadium Arcadium was the last good album but I don't rank it above BSSM. Also I find One Hot Minute to be fantastic so I'd also rank that higher.
Ending up in rehab finally made "Under the Bridge" click for me. The intro is basically a lovechild between Hendrix ("Bold as Love") and Bowie ("Andy Warhol"), which I respect, but it's kind of cheating.
While maybe across the board return of the dream canteen isnt the best, i think its unfair to have in D. Eddie is one of their best songs, and for me peace and love isnt far behind. Bella is also quite a fantastic tune and while ridiculous, tippa my tongue is a ton of fun.
For me - One Hot Minute is so far beyond everything else they've ever done. And every time I say that, people never remember the album even existed. Navarro crafted some seriously good guitar work. There's 2 or 3 really crap songs but mostly the album is lightyears better than every other album for me. Throw in about 10 other random songs throughout their entire catalogue and that's enough. Maybe I like it because it's so much different to the hours and hours of total garbage.
I disagree. OHM is their darkest album in their catalogue. Dave brought his guitar experience with Jane's and added on to it. Where RHCP had alt-rock or funk experiences with a lyrical tinge of love, hope, drugs and trying to have a good time of some kind, OHM is more psychedelic and heavy metal. They had a few funk elements, or at least closer to their own ballpark, like Aeroplane and Walkabout. But once you hear Deep Kick, it's entirely certain that it's not like any other record. Hell, listening to Warped for the 1st time shocked me because it was loud and distorted and, because of the lyrics, a cry for help. So, I agree that Californication is the better album, I disagree that OHM LACKS ANY sense of identity. Blood Sugar Sex Magik is the ultimate Chili Peppers album that was built up from their previous albums. EVERYTHING from their first four albums is, in bits and pieces, on Blood. OHM is their first more pushaway from funk. So, in my opinion: No OHM, no Californication.@@DancingwithGhosts
saying bssm has too many songs is not fair. Stadium Arcadium has so many songs they split it into 2 discs. Not saying it's a bad thing, just I think Stadium Arcadium just has a lot of songs I don't want to listen sometimes, that's why I prefer by the way over it.
Too many songs on BSSM? Every song is killer aside from They're Red Hot. They should have put Soul To Squeeze on there instead. BSSM is S tier for best albums of all time.
yeah and that's probably most people's take but i felt like it was too bloated. btw i wish i had mentioned this more in the video but the Chili Peppers had some bad-ass non-album tracks in their history like Show Me Your Soul, Soul to Squeeze, and Rollercoaster of Love
Here's my RHCP album ranking from worst to best Unlimited Love (haven't heard it yet) Californication By the Way I'm With You The Getaway One Hot Minute Freaky Stylie Red Hot Chili Peppers Stadium Arcadium Blood Sugar Sex Magik Mother's Milk The Uplift Mofo Party Plan
Worst review I’ve ever seen (IMO) Debut album sucked other than green heaven in my opinion but yeah that stuff was not good Freaky styley was also not the best it had some bangers, jungle man, if you want me to stay, and Hollywood Uplift mofo party plan was a great album I’m not too much of a fan of kiedes rapping but I thing songs like backwoods and behind the sun are S tier songs Mothers milk I totally agree with you it’s a great album what more can I say. I’m a big fan of stone cold bush and good time boys BSSM magik is my third favorite of theirs and is in between A and S for me. I love sir psycho sexy and my lovely man. I think this album has no bad or even mediocre songs. Such a solid album. One hot minute is weird and definitely not my favorite but walkabout is a great song but there’s not much else I can say about it Californication is good. Not great. Call me basic but I still think scar tissue is the best song on the album with the runner up being this velvet glove. I really don’t like emit remmus either I like by the way but similar to californication it’s not an S tier album whatsoever. Venice queen is one their best songs in my opinion and I’m a big fan of cabron, can’t stop and on mercury Stadium Arcadiam is there best album hands down. After getting it on vinyl it was worth it. 28 songs and I love 25 of them, there’s a few I’m not the biggest fan of but it has the most songs and the 2nd best songs that they have ever made. Big fan of she’s only 18, especially in Michigan, storm in a teacup, death of a Martian, hey, desecration smile and many others I’m with you was not the best but there are some bangers: even you Brutus, did I let you know and goodbye hooray are my favorites. Overall like a 6/10 Then there’s the bunch of like EP things the released and honestly it’s some of their best work. Songs like never is a long time and pink as Floyd are absolute A tier songs as well as long progression, magpies on fire and how it ends. The Getaway is my favorite album of all time bo questions asked. There a a few songs I don’t like but the other ones are SO good like feasting on the flowers go robot, goodbye angels, the longest wave and my personal favorite encore There last two albums are pretty good and I think unlimited love has some really good stuff I’m not the biggest fan of return of the dream canteen but songs I will recommend are one way traffic, and white braids & pillow chairs. So that my review of their albums.
Not even bringing back John Frusciante, on two albums released in the same year, was able to re-energise the band. Ouch. But, i'm surprised Stadium Arcadium ranked as highly because, to me, that suffers the same issues as the latest two records from 2022.
@@DancingwithGhosts Oh, agreed. Their latest two records are dull. But, with Stadium Arcadium, there are some bangers on there, but would work much better as a single album. My other issue with Stadium is the mix/production; thinned out bass lines, and the drums lack the punch of any of their other records.
@@debonaire_nerd yes i agree it could've been one of their best albums if it were just a single album.. didn't really notice the production with the bass.. i think of a song like ''tell me baby'' and the bass sounds pretty damn in your face but then again maybe it wasn't as fat as ''coffee shop'' on one hot minute.. also, it depends on the vibe of the song because the bass wasn't ''fat'' on give it away but it was appropriate
I compare RHCP to Rivers Cuomo: a band that prioritizes quantity over quality. Both bands could have sterling discographies, but instead they want to demonstrate their ability to record 500 crap songs in a year!
yeah that's true.. it's kinda like the smashing pumpkins now as well releasing their triple album. you need producers and outside opinions to be like ''hey, maybe that song isn't finished yet''
Props to Hillel slovak for what he did and RIP and whatnot but the band got leagues ahead when frusciante joined. Those who claim to prefer the slovak days are the same who claim to prefer the Syd Barrett Pink floyd. It's just about being a genwunner, a purist so to speak. Just to be original and different. Objectively that's just a bad take in my opinion. When melody entered, it was a game changer.
how many times have you listened to these two albums? because the first time I listened to it, I found it insipid, and now there are my favorites... the sound is new, complex, dark and haunted. my faorites songs: here ever after, watchu thinkin, only natural, tangelo, tippa my tongue, the drummer, reach out, in the snow
@@akiraergo4727 I tried UL maybe 2-3 times and that felt forced and ROTDC once. I agree there are some good songs but overall I don't agree that it sounds new. To me they sound uninspiring.
@@killerchicken750 it s your point of view not the reality. For exemple with with song could you compare in the snow? The Drummer? Not the one? Heavy wing?
RHCP is a band which I can listen to on the radio, but don't really care about. Also I always start mixing their songs up because they are so similar. I ghink back in the pre Spotify age you could have told somebody who wanted to get started with them to buy their greatest hits album and he won't miss anything.
I think you're wrong. t'as reflection is typical of someone who doesn't listen to them. honestly tell me how road trippin = can't stop= otherside= sir psycho sexy= hump de bump= here ever after= the drummer= tippa my tongue= higher ground... moreover the ones fans like the most are often off hit, for example throw away your tv, dosed walkabout, sir psycho and many others ...
Dude, you don’t know anything about music. BSSM, Mother’s Milk, and Californication are stellar records. UMPP, One Hot Minute, and Stadium are just underneath that. Freaky Styley, RHCP, and BTW are just under that. And then everything else.
1st Tier: None, I’m sorry, I love these guys, but the problem is that they REFUSE to cut stuff, so no album of theirs is 1st tier 2nd Tier: The Getaway, The Uplift Mofo Party Plan, The Red Hot Chili Peppers 3rd Tier: Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Unlimited Love, By The Way, Mother’s Milk, One Hot Minute, Californication, I’m With You, The Return Of The Dream Canteen, Stadium Arcadium: Jupiter, Stadium Arcadium: Mars Haven’t Heard Every Song Yet: Freaky Styley (but I love the songs I have)
By the Way shits on Stadium Arcadium. More streamlined, higher highs, muuuuuch less filler. Stadium Arcadium is three or four good songs and a plethora of meh to awful songs.
My girlfriend's favorite band is the Chili Peppers. Mine are Guns N' Roses and Queens Of The Stone Age. Actually before we started officially dating she lent me Scar Tissue, which I still haven't read three years later, because I'm a horrible boyfriend. Her favorite song is Wet Sand, and she's definitely into the more poppy Californication/ Stadium era, and loves Frusciante. I'm the farthest thing from a Chili Peppers aficionado, but I appreciate 'em for obvious reasons. Out of everything she's played me, I'm familiar with Stadium Arcadium as a whole because that's the only album I own of theirs, from back in '05, just an impulse buy. This was a great watch! 🤘🏻
i got a solution for you. Download audible on your smartphone, the app gives you one free audiobook when you sign up i believe. They have Scar Tissue in audio form, BAM! Then you can act like you read the book around your g\f.
Yeah the two new ones are very derivative and formulaic of what they've done before. Before that I feel there was always at least a bit of a different identity on each. BSSM, OHM, CLFCTN, BTW, SA had somewhat of a different sound.
@@DancingwithGhosts I don't think so. I think Tom gave in and said it's such a common progression, it would open the floodgates for countless lawsuits I could imagine.
It's crazy, for good or bad, the Chilli Peppers are just iconic. I think they are a unique band and no other band sounds like them. No one has such a terrible frontman/singer/songwritter, but kinda interesting musicians, maybe not the best, but the again, iconic.
you didn't look... I like all their albums, specially return of the dream canteen, unlimited love and by the way. my favorite tracks (it's alway change) : sir psycho sexy, coul have lied, throw away your tv, in the snow, the drummer, so much I, right on time, otherside, scar tissu

anway, cool vid. i'm interested to see what band/artist you do next
13:47 I'm around the same age as you, and Californication will always remind me of summer break when I was a kid.
I remember the music video for Californication, with the band entering a video game, it was quite weird but memorable!
same! i loved that video because i was playing the N64 at the time and it looked like the games I was playing lol
Unlimited love and the gateway are great, there are more songs i like from these albums than any other album
You put a good amount of thought into this ranking. More than some of the albums deserve. I'm older than you, so my rankings are bit different at the top:
1. Blood Sugar Sex Magic
2. Mother's Milk
3. Californication
All could be S or A tier for me.
Great video! I agree that Californication is by far their best album. So many amazing songs on there.
I love this video thank you. For me:
4. Mother milk
3. One hot minute
2.bssm
1. Californication
F Yeah the Full Video😃
wowie mister
This list is pretty much the same as my list.
Except for the two latest albums. I would classify both of them as at least a B. I really like both of them a lot.
RHCP Albums Ranked (Format: Album - Favorite Song - Least Favorite Song)
1. Stadium Arcadium - Stadium Arcadium - C'mon Girl
2. Californication - This Velvet Glove - Right On Time
3. Blood Sugar Sex Magik - The Rightous & the Wicked - The Greeting Song
4. By the Way - Venice Queen - Cabron
5. Mother's Milk - Taste the Pain - Fire
6. Unlimited Love - It's Only Natural - Poster Child
7. One Hot Minute - Shallow Be Thy Game - Deep Kick
8. Return of the Dream Canteen - Show Me a Smile - My Cigarette
9. The Getaway - Goobye Angels - This Ticonderoga
10. The Uplift Mofo Party Plan - Fight Like a Brave - Party on Your Pussy
11. I'm With You - Annie Wants a Baby - Even You Brutus?
12. I'm Beside You - Victorian Machinery - Hometown Gypsy
13. Freaky Styley - Brother's Cup - Battleship
Im not a fan of that funk white dude groovy man stuff at all, those 80s albums might be rough to listen through!
oh they will be especially the first 2
Really interesting points I'm also with you😃
Here some of my points of view:
One Hot Minute: Welp Navarro was a completly different Guitar Player but I like most of the experimental weirdish tracks on it.
That's all Josh 🙂
i enjoyed reading this thank you
@@DancingwithGhosts Thank you :)
Im with you my fav album, and how did you say the getaway is "not so well" this album such an great
I think a lot of it has to do with how how old you were when you found them.
OHM goes in A tier
I farted right as you added that fart sound in the beginning, and I thought I might have blown out my colon.
😂
I pretty much agree but I do enjoy the early stuff a lot more than you do. Stadium Arcadium was the last good album but I don't rank it above BSSM. Also I find One Hot Minute to be fantastic so I'd also rank that higher.
Ending up in rehab finally made "Under the Bridge" click for me. The intro is basically a lovechild between Hendrix ("Bold as Love") and Bowie ("Andy Warhol"), which I respect, but it's kind of cheating.
I don't know this guy at all but I assume he doesn't play music, judging by his comment on BSSM
Sleeping on Getaway
One hot minute is underated
I agree with you about under the bridge. I was more into the song Black hole sun,Tool's stinkfist and the Crandberries Salvation
stinkfist is a great song still, black hole sun is overplayed and don't believe ive ever heard the cranberries song
Different period.
Freaky Styley was pretty good.
Anthony : ring ding dong dang ding
What do you mean Klinghoffer doesn't do backup vocals?
I would have put "I'm with you" on C tier. Aside from that, great.
While maybe across the board return of the dream canteen isnt the best, i think its unfair to have in D. Eddie is one of their best songs, and for me peace and love isnt far behind. Bella is also quite a fantastic tune and while ridiculous, tippa my tongue is a ton of fun.
Probably the worst ranking I have ever seen
Great video. Blink-182 next 🤘 🤘 🤘
he did ua-cam.com/video/fhLmfkmFylk/v-deo.html
For me - One Hot Minute is so far beyond everything else they've ever done. And every time I say that, people never remember the album even existed. Navarro crafted some seriously good guitar work. There's 2 or 3 really crap songs but mostly the album is lightyears better than every other album for me. Throw in about 10 other random songs throughout their entire catalogue and that's enough. Maybe I like it because it's so much different to the hours and hours of total garbage.
one hot minute had some good songs but i'd never elevate it above above Californication, One Hot Minute lacked a sense of identity
@@DancingwithGhosts Yeah, some of their best actually. I always felt they belonged on albums.
@@lidiaspazzard that had to be their record label ''we need exclusive songs for these movies''
Meh
@@DancingwithGhostsIt is “Love Rollercoaster” not “Rollercoaster of love”
Shit! How did I miss this?! Vid is five mo. old now. RHCP nerd here ✋
By the Way is S, Getaway is A-B, Unlimited Love is A-B.
What are the songs that you like on Stadium Arcadium?
Wet sand, especially in michigan, slow cheetah, desecration smile..so many
Here's my RHCP album ranking from worst to best
Unlimited Love (haven't heard it yet)
Californication
By the Way
I'm With You
The Getaway
One Hot Minute
Freaky Stylie
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Stadium Arcadium
Blood Sugar Sex Magik
Mother's Milk
The Uplift Mofo Party Plan
Worst review I’ve ever seen (IMO)
Debut album sucked other than green heaven in my opinion but yeah that stuff was not good
Freaky styley was also not the best it had some bangers, jungle man, if you want me to stay, and Hollywood
Uplift mofo party plan was a great album I’m not too much of a fan of kiedes rapping but I thing songs like backwoods and behind the sun are S tier songs
Mothers milk I totally agree with you it’s a great album what more can I say. I’m a big fan of stone cold bush and good time boys
BSSM magik is my third favorite of theirs and is in between A and S for me. I love sir psycho sexy and my lovely man. I think this album has no bad or even mediocre songs. Such a solid album.
One hot minute is weird and definitely not my favorite but walkabout is a great song but there’s not much else I can say about it
Californication is good. Not great. Call me basic but I still think scar tissue is the best song on the album with the runner up being this velvet glove. I really don’t like emit remmus either
I like by the way but similar to californication it’s not an S tier album whatsoever. Venice queen is one their best songs in my opinion and I’m a big fan of cabron, can’t stop and on mercury
Stadium Arcadiam is there best album hands down. After getting it on vinyl it was worth it. 28 songs and I love 25 of them, there’s a few I’m not the biggest fan of but it has the most songs and the 2nd best songs that they have ever made. Big fan of she’s only 18, especially in Michigan, storm in a teacup, death of a Martian, hey, desecration smile and many others
I’m with you was not the best but there are some bangers: even you Brutus, did I let you know and goodbye hooray are my favorites. Overall like a 6/10
Then there’s the bunch of like EP things the released and honestly it’s some of their best work. Songs like never is a long time and pink as Floyd are absolute A tier songs as well as long progression, magpies on fire and how it ends.
The Getaway is my favorite album of all time bo questions asked. There a a few songs I don’t like but the other ones are SO good like feasting on the flowers go robot, goodbye angels, the longest wave and my personal favorite encore
There last two albums are pretty good and I think unlimited love has some really good stuff I’m not the biggest fan of return of the dream canteen but songs I will recommend are one way traffic, and white braids & pillow chairs.
So that my review of their albums.
finally someone recognizing good songs the getaway is amazing. josh is just so great so hope that guy will give it another shot
getaway : dark necesities and sick love
Before clicking the video I said "where's he gonna rank the funk?"
🤣
Not even bringing back John Frusciante, on two albums released in the same year, was able to re-energise the band. Ouch. But, i'm surprised Stadium Arcadium ranked as highly because, to me, that suffers the same issues as the latest two records from 2022.
the songwriting was so much more creative and interesting on that album, really? the latest 2 were pretty boring and sounded quite uninspired
i didn't hear a single person even mention Dream Canteen after it was released
@@DancingwithGhosts Oh, agreed. Their latest two records are dull. But, with Stadium Arcadium, there are some bangers on there, but would work much better as a single album. My other issue with Stadium is the mix/production; thinned out bass lines, and the drums lack the punch of any of their other records.
@@debonaire_nerd yes i agree it could've been one of their best albums if it were just a single album.. didn't really notice the production with the bass.. i think of a song like ''tell me baby'' and the bass sounds pretty damn in your face but then again maybe it wasn't as fat as ''coffee shop'' on one hot minute.. also, it depends on the vibe of the song because the bass wasn't ''fat'' on give it away but it was appropriate
return of the dream canteen and unlimited love are their best albums!!
Yeah I could've done without the entire 2nd record/disc of Stadium Arcadium
I love Bag of Grins personally and Veronica
This is a waste of time and who cares about his opinion?
I compare RHCP to Rivers Cuomo: a band that prioritizes quantity over quality. Both bands could have sterling discographies, but instead they want to demonstrate their ability to record 500 crap songs in a year!
Did you know that Stadium Arcadium was supposed to be a triple album?
yeah that's true.. it's kinda like the smashing pumpkins now as well releasing their triple album. you need producers and outside opinions to be like ''hey, maybe that song isn't finished yet''
Or, in the case of Atum, scrap 98% of it, call Butch Vig, and write/sing/record like you have a pulse.
When melody entered, it was a game changer.
i agree 100%
I’m glad we both agree with UL and ROTDC being shit tier. Tho I think the getaway deserves to be higher, a bit of a breath of fresh air
how many times have you listened to these two albums? because the first time I listened to it, I found it insipid, and now there are my favorites... the sound is new, complex, dark and haunted. my faorites songs: here ever after, watchu thinkin, only natural, tangelo, tippa my tongue, the drummer, reach out, in the snow
Heavy wing?
Who let him cook???
Dude you do not know and or appreciate Chiñi Peppers history.
wheeerrreeee'sssss daddddyyyyyy?? no i do not
RHCP is a band which I can listen to on the radio, but don't really care about. Also I always start mixing their songs up because they are so similar. I ghink back in the pre Spotify age you could have told somebody who wanted to get started with them to buy their greatest hits album and he won't miss anything.
yeaaaaahh overall i'd have to agree with that statement..
I think you're wrong. t'as reflection is typical of someone who doesn't listen to them. honestly tell me how road trippin = can't stop= otherside= sir psycho sexy= hump de bump= here ever after= the drummer= tippa my tongue= higher ground... moreover the ones fans like the most are often off hit, for example throw away your tv, dosed walkabout, sir psycho and many others ...
not a good ranking IMO
good job at parroting what everyone is saying in the comments, very original
Dude, you don’t know anything about music.
BSSM, Mother’s Milk, and Californication are stellar records. UMPP, One Hot Minute, and Stadium are just underneath that. Freaky Styley, RHCP, and BTW are just under that. And then everything else.
1st Tier:
None, I’m sorry, I love these guys, but the problem is that they REFUSE to cut stuff, so no album of theirs is 1st tier
2nd Tier:
The Getaway, The Uplift Mofo Party Plan, The Red Hot Chili Peppers
3rd Tier:
Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Unlimited Love, By The Way, Mother’s Milk, One Hot Minute, Californication, I’m With You, The Return Of The Dream Canteen, Stadium Arcadium: Jupiter, Stadium Arcadium: Mars
Haven’t Heard Every Song Yet:
Freaky Styley (but I love the songs I have)
do monkeys and strokes
Are you reading this, Audible? Sponsor this channel.
@@chainsawhijinx4039 i'm sayin! a sponsor I actually use!
their music is all very samey to me
in the last few years for sure
Yeah the two new ones are very derivative and formulaic of what they've done before. Before that I feel there was always at least a bit of a different identity on each.
BSSM, OHM, CLFCTN, BTW, SA had somewhat of a different sound.
You should check Frusciante's solo work. It's the opposite of RHCP MO of going through the motions
yeah i've been meaning to but then i forget to everytime i go to spotify lol
Ugh good band but my god are they overplayed
Dani California sounds like Tom Petty’s Mary Jane’s Last Dance
didn't tom sue the chill peps over that?
@@DancingwithGhosts I don't think so. I think Tom gave in and said it's such a common progression, it would open the floodgates for countless lawsuits I could imagine.
It's crazy, for good or bad, the Chilli Peppers are just iconic.
I think they are a unique band and no other band sounds like them.
No one has such a terrible frontman/singer/songwritter, but kinda interesting musicians, maybe not the best, but the again, iconic.
maluco
26:16 well said. That's why I don't consider myself a huge RHCP fan
U lost me when u said their first albums aren’t very good lol. Literally their best material
you crazy
I like a handful of Peppers songs and that's it. Never a big fan, much to the dismay of my bestie lmao.
I really like 'By The Way' but Cabron does suck haha.
Thank-you very much 🙏🏻🙏🏻 I'm a big fan but fuck me I hate the song"by the way"
All of them are F Tier
“Well, that’s just like…your opinion…man.”
People like them for the hits, and ONLY for the hits. I dont know a single person who likes entire albums.
Me...
Me
(shows all the album by them I have)
you didn't look... I like all their albums, specially return of the dream canteen, unlimited love and by the way. my favorite tracks (it's alway change) : sir psycho sexy, coul have lied, throw away your tv, in the snow, the drummer, so much I, right on time, otherside, scar tissu
while i don't _love_ a majority of their albums, they had a sterling run of _albums_ from '89 to '02
Anthony Keidis ruins RHCP for me.
"Behind the Sun" is the only good RHCP song. The band is otherwise trash.
behind the sun was a really random song for them to make given their whole turbo funk sound, it was a welcomed surprise
Shut up
Most overrated band in history. Absolute radio friendly garbage from 2000 onwards.
