    Thanks so much! The way you split the chords into concentrated parts really helped me. Up until now I had given up on bar chords. This will really help my songwriting.

    I am double jointed and have some control of my fingers but learning to play guitar has been a challenge. I've been wanting to learn to play since I was 17 but my first teacher said I was never going to be able to play, because I'm double jointed and have small hands. I am 33 now, I bought a guitar and decided to give it another try but I got disappointed with the bar chords and B notes, I left my guitar aside for months, watching your videos has given me hope. Such is why I wanted to take the time to thank you. I am grateful for your videos. God bless you.

    This is really helpful many thanks! I need to start working on the bar chords since I have mastered the basic C-A-G-E-D open chords and power chords. I see tons of rock, blues and metal players using bar chords, why? I rarely see these in music tabs. The Bm and F chord are common though.

    • @truckerkevthepaidtourist
      @truckerkevthepaidtourist 6 років тому

      Renaissance Man you will see them if looking at like a chord list for songs and usually at top or bottom they will be in chord shapes used a lot. The F, B, Bb, FM and Cm are indeed the most common ones most others usually use 1st position standard chords..nice video

    Bb6/9 at 5th fret, catching the c with your pinkie on highE? I am having a heck of a time not muting out the D note, when I am fretting the Bb on low E. So
    6
    5
    5
    5
    6
    8
    I can play it, but hitying it clear, and moving onto my next chord, Cm9 is tough for me. Any sughestions? Thank you.

    Hey Tomas, I really suck at getting all the strings to play on the barre. The segments of my fingers make it very difficult to compress the strings!!! very frustrating!! any ideas? Also should I make the barre before the other notes or the notes first then barre it? Either way isn't working out very well for me, but I want to at least get it wrong the right way. P.S the Am 9th lesson was way easier. At the end you asked about if anyone would like a lesson on the chord progression around the Am 9th chord. That's a yes from me. (as long as there's no barre chords, lol!) Thanks again, you're a great teacher.

    Hi. I substitute the full bar F chord with F/C. It sounds great in the songs I sing in place of F. I just don’t wanna learn too many things at the same time when I am already making some little music with what I have learnt. Do you know any singers or guitarists for do not bar fully? I am a beginner and I am just excited to move on and learn other stuff because I can substitute my bars.

  • @jimmypage4753

    I'm always discouraged at playing bar chords when theres so much pressure needed in some of the frets otherwise some strings will be muted. I just learned the term action on guitar but i dont want to rush and make that an excuse for my bad technique. How will i know if the action is too high?

    • @victorluque1261
      @victorluque1261 7 років тому

      Risky Business i had mine lowered and let me tell you the difference across the board is crazy, if the first fret is very hard to push down then chances are the action is too high. just take it in to aa guitar shop it wont cost much and they can measure it. it should be about 2 millimeters from the fretboard before mine was taken in it was way to high like 5 to 6.
