One of the early 90s classic two-player coin-op games, Lucky & Wild remains a brilliant experience to this day.
The actual arcade cabinet is a sit-down affair for up to two players. The idea is that you and a buddy embark on a series of high speed pursuits, much like Chase H.Q., and being criminal gangs to justice. Player one uses the steering wheel and pedals to drive the vehicle, and has access to a gun to shoot enemy vehicles with their right hand, while player two operates a second gun, also bolted to the cabinet. These are not light guns in the truest sense -- there's no blanking of the screen, and the fact on-screen reticules show where the player is aiming suggest these operate more like a computer mouse, calculating X and Y coordinates based on the elevation and tilt of the gun itself.
For those choosing to play solo, things are more complicated. The player must drive AND operate the mounted gun to shoot at bad guys, which is quite a task. The driving and physics is more forgiving than most dedicated racers for this very reason, but you still need to be able to multitask.
I enjoyed my time with Lucky & Wild; the graphics are excellent and it's still a tremendous amount of fun! I played this using a joypad in the left hand with analogue stick and trigger to steer/accelerate, and mouse in the right hand to aim the gun. It's a surprisingly decent setup, and I had a lot of fun recording this!

This game is super fun as hell and oozes that buddy cop charm throughout the whole game. Thanks for the longplay AL!
This game oozes all right.
One thing for sure, AL82:
Not only You're lucky shooter -
You're also a wild gamer 😹😸👍🕹️.
There was a wonderful Aladdins Castle arcade at my local mall with this game. My gf at the time liked going to arcades as well. We would play this game with her driving and me manning both guns. That was beyond fun.
...Same. Very same.
The thrill of "You drive, I'll shoot" that can only be experienced at an arcade, not an emulator, and only with a special someone. We were lucky
And truly, we were Wild as well.
This is incredibly fun and incredibly funny. Game has great visuals, good gameplay mechanics and a hilarious sense of humor.
Wow! Kudos to whoever voiced the titular duo Lucky & Wild! These duo are comedic in this buddy-cop duo shooter! Nice one!
Wild: "You creep! I'll make you pay!"
That line is still funny from Wild
It's a 90s game full of 80s cheese. It works.
By far one of the most fun games of my arcade growing up in the 90s
I had impression with my dad to play that one when I was a little child, after we beat stage 1 I don't know what happens we will get loses the game in stage 2 LOOOOL!!!! 🤣🤣🤣👏🎮🎮
Oh dear, this game ABSOLUTELY deserves a remake or anything to keep this game alive.
A valid reason to go to the cat bar after every shift.
Tango and Cash-The Game
I was thinking more likely STARSKY & HUTCH, but TANGO & CASH actually works 😺👍.
In fact, STARSKY & HUTCH meet TANGO & CASH 😺👍🕹️🕹️🕹️🕹️.
yup, Tango and Cash
We're gonna get FUBAR now!
@@ArttuTheCat Meets Lethal or Loaded Weapon😂
The most wanted game that wouldn’t appear anywhere.

I remember playing this game when I was younger. Brought back lots of memories
0:35 Thats him , OK let's go
Ah yes, Lucky & Wild, where before MAME 0.232 it was having issues with the audio, Lucky & Wild doesn't talk alot, just moving their lips and also, missing Helicoper and Dynamite sounds replaced with weird buzzing, but then eventually, the C140 Sound Chip received a proper fix and all of these issue were resolved.
Fun-fact: I actually made a post in MameTesters talking about the issues i mentioned before.
This is the most fun game ever!
I don't know if Lucky deserves his name, each time he replaces his windshield it gets blasted again right away.
It does mean they go to the Pink Cat Garage after every mission though, so it's probably a blessing in disguise.
The department insured the car. Obviously, he chose Pink Cats Garage.
This one's a blast on the real cab.
Used to play this when I was a kid back in the day with my dad, he'd drive and I'd focus on shooting. Good times.
Loved this game as a kid.
It's like at this point they might as well not bother getting the windshield fixed XDXDXDXDXDXDXD
The windshield is like the black guy in old 1980s action films. It dies halfway so the heroes can avenge the broken glass.
Lucky's insurance premiums for his car that regularly gets trashed must be through the roof.
When the policemen were cool and chased criminals crashing everywhere. 👌🏼
I thing my arcade used to have that game when I was a kid.
The game where two players actually matters, you can't beat it by yourself
git gud
It's possible to play solo but it can be challenging
Amazing that this game never got a sequel.
This Arcade classic did I play at Speelstad Oranje at Oranje Holland in the period 1998 2002. memories.
Lucky & Wild Is The Best Game Ever
My brother and I used to play this at the local arcade back in the ‘90s. He always made me play the passenger cop. If I remember correctly, you can shoot the hood of the car up to sabotage the mission.
One of my favourite games of all time!!
This game was fun as hell.
I'm pretty sure they're past being a gang when they start blowing up buildings for fun.
Excuse me sir, they were peddling in half a gram of the MJ. Its very illegal!
When this was at the arcade, I always visited. I'd always play a bit. Super fun. I'm shocked it never got some sort of port.
Play this game when I was a kid play with my dad....
This Game Was at My Local-Mall "Aladdin's Castle" Arcade Back in My "MallRat" Days.

(It Sure Would Be SWEET!)
I use to play this with my sister at the local arcade in the mid 90s
The only arcade game can play with 2 players with 1 token. (One in charge of steering and another one for shooting.)
As a child, my friend and I used to say that the two guys in the car are Thomas Anders and Dieter Bohlen.))))))
Chase HQ-with guns.
Pretty much!
Chase HQ 2 had guns.
Awesome game, i love it!
Somehow no one thought about attacking our car from behind.
Back when our town had an arcade, this is the one I'd play with my dad the most. Good times!
Wow! This game is bad ass.
It's like Tatio's Chase H.Q. and Namco's Point blank combined into 1
Did you know Lucky & Wild is also a car sponsor on Ridge Racer 3D?
First playthrough I've found of this with all of the sound effects intact! I love all the little wisecracks from Lucky and Wild as you go through the levels!
Anyone know what Lucky says at the beginning of each stage? I reckon "Noooo, my car is totalled" but it's hard to make out the last word.
He actually says, Noooo ... my car is traaaashed!"
@@stephenross1919 That makes sense! Nice one.
Hm, Pink "Cats" Garage... I get it ;-)
Well done! 👍
I like how unlike the other game there's no civilian traffic and the turns are wide enough makes me wonder why it has a pedal where acceleration can be automated (as far as i remember the game has pedal)
Which version did you play here? I remember playing this at the Putt-Putt in Augusta, GA and every "Pink Cats Garage" scene had Lucky and Wild at the end get kissed all over their faces for all the cash and repair work they brought the garage after each mission.
The default, non-Japan release with stock dipswitch settings
@@AL82RetrogamingLongplays One of the settings must have been "all professional girls with no TLC" since the Pink Cats girls were great at fixing your car's damage, but not giving the brave Lucky and Wild their "heroic due" of kisses all over :P
@@theodorehsu5023 I think it's because AL82 took very little damage. I know the same thing happened whenever I'd continue on the stage bosses.
very nice game love it
Amazing 😂
Art is soo cool.
I'm Too Old For This Shit.
Fifth boss is extremely frustrating to beat…
ADORO ESSE JOGO...👏👏

Does anyone know how to play this in VR? I'd seriously pay 100 bucks to play all these nostalgic arcade roms the way they're meant to be played in VR.
They are meant to be played on an crt tv
