I bought a Z5 a year ago and have been looking for a good tutorial for several months. I've watched several videos and this is by far the best video I've seen. Thank you very much!!
I saw many youtubers talking about setting up Z camera. YOU ARE THE BEST. Simple , systemic and ease to understand. Other youtubers just want to show you how well they know about the camera, then click this, and click that very fast, eventually I know nothing at all. I learned a lot from you about setting up Z5. I have a Z5 and Z&ii.
I shoot medium format Fuji GFX and bought a Z5 as a walk around travel camera. I have to say it is one of the biggest pleasant surprises in photography I can remember. I just have the little 24-70 f4 on it and the results are absolutely brilliant. I still use the big Fuji 102Mp for the poster shots but the Z5 could probably do 95% of the same thing for 1/6th of the cost and half the weight. We have come such a long way in photography recently. Well done Nikon.
I just purchased a Z5. The last camera I had was a D5600, so this is a huge step up. I was excited, but very nervous, especially regarding using focus and area modes effectively. Your class is fantastic. Finally, a clear, concise, effective tutorial. From one teacher to another, Thank You!
Appreciate if you would do one for the less mortals who own a Z50 or a Z30. Even though I have a Z30 I have learnt a lot from this video. Thanks a ton for a clear and detailed explanation.
Hi John. This is just an incredible, awsom and excellent tutorial. Thank you so very much for how you explain and show all the details. It really helped me a lot to understand my new Z5 much better. You´ve got another suscriber from here!
Yeah I agree with Lee and there are three separate tutorials if you wish to navigate. What I would like to know is how do you initiate "Live View" and can you customise a button for it. On most DSLRs there is a button for this. Thanks
Thanks for the question. Mirrorless cameras like the Z5 are always in Live View. However, your view through the Viewfinder or Rear Monitor can be customized. This is covered in the Menu section of the full class (Sections 12-17). To get full access click here: jgp.world/NikonZ5
Are the User modes limited to exposure and focus settings? I'm not able to set the Image Area to DX in one User mode and FX in another. It just keeps whatever the last change was across any mode. Great tutorial BTW!
Hi thanks again for the help. I need to have my Z5 set-up a certain way for the company I work for. I have the AEB set to 5 with a +2-2. The company has some paperwork that states the camera should make a clicking sound five times for all of the exposures. Yet, it makes a single click noise and has an "AE-BKT 3/5 or 2/5 etc as I continue to take pictures. Can you please assist and let me know what I am doing wrong?
You need to change the release mode from S (single) to one of the continuous options, then hold the shutter button down and the camera will take the number of shots you set in the bracketing settings.
Excellent! You’ve put an awful lot of work in on this and it’s really appreciated, thank you !

Just BRAVO to this video and the amount of work that has been done to make such a crisp, precise, and practical tutorial.
Just moved from D5600 to Z5 and your tutorials are clear, concise, easy to follow and excellent. Thank you.
You are BY FAR the Best........ I bought a Z with No Clue what I'm doing. Now I can learn. Mega Thanks.
Agree with Lee below, the best clip ever on Z5.😄 Clear, essential, straght-to-the-point. Congrats and thanks
Many thanks for your lecture
