Interesting facts about the village of Ravnogor and Bekovi skali.
The picturesque village of Ravnogor is located 15 km south of Bratsigovo and 40 km from the regional town of Pazardzhik. Founded in 1777 due to the desire of the local population to keep their faith, the then Ottoman administration began to call its inhabitants "Axis" (stubborn), and the village of Aksi Koriya. Shortly after the liberation of Bulgaria in 1878, the name of the village was changed to Yasya Koriya, which comes from a flat forest. In 1934 the name was translated into Bulgarian - Ravnogor.
Located at 1,340 meters above sea level, the Ravnogorsko plateau is a place with huge number of sights, one of them is Bekovi skali. 5 km. north of the Ravnogor, on a dirt road you reach the place where the locals call it the edge of the Rhodopes - Bekov rocks. On a clear sunny day there is an incredible view of Vacha Dam, the flat fields of the Thracian lowlands, and even to the slopes of Sredna Gora and Stara Planina.

    Scarborough Fair Lyrics
Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
    Parsley, sage, rosemary & thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
She once was a true love of mine
Tell her to make me a cambric shirt
(On the side of a hill in the deep forest green)
    Parsely, sage, rosemary & thyme
(Tracing a sparrow on snow-crested ground)
    Without no seams nor needlework
(Blankets and bedclothes a child of the mountains)
Then she'll be a true love of mine
(Sleeps unaware of the clarion call)
Tell her to find me an acre of land
(On the side of a hill, a sprinkling of leaves)
    Parsely, sage, rosemary, & thyme
(Washed is the ground with so many tears)
Between the salt water and the sea strand
(A soldier cleans and polishes a gun)
Then she'll be a true love of mine
Tell her to reap it in a sickle of leather
(War bellows, blazing in scarlet battalions)
    Parsely, sage, rosemary & thyme
(Generals order their soldiers to kill)
And to gather it all in a bunch of heather
(And to fight for a cause they've long ago forgotten)
Then she'll be a true love of mine
Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
    Parsley, sage, rosemary & thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
She once was a true love of mine.
