This is such an eye opener for me. I’ve definitely got a lot of things I need to think about.

I believe we, as believers, should all be baptized. But if it’s required for salvation, how would you explain the thief on the cross. He went to Paradise with The Lord

If you can get baptized do it. Read the last chapter of Matthew Jesus says to be baptized

The thief on the cross was under the old law, as was Christ. Christ also had authority to forgive him of his sin. We are under a new covenant with Christ, now baptism is required for salvation 1Peter 3:21 . There are many more scriptures 😊

@@sandrastone3053 Christ has as much authority now as He did then. I came out of the Holiness denomination. They believe they’re the only ones that are right and I’ve found out they’re not the only ones. On my search for a new church home I have visited 2 Church of Christs and I will Never attend another one! The last one past over me in communion because I’m not Church of Christ. That’s sin in two manners. One because I was Judged as not being in the faith. 2 because the scriptures say for a man to examine Himself. So to say that they don’t add or take away from the scripture would be a gross understatement. No wonder the Church of Christ is on the decline. I have been a Child of God for over 20 years. I can tell you the day, date , and take you to the place. Y’all are deceived. And just like the Holiness, it’s more indoctrination than spiritual

Charles, as Jesus was still alive on the cross, His Church, The Kingdom - Christianity was not in place. Baptism is necessary in order to be in, The Body, The Church - Christ. The thief on the cross preceded the time when baptism was required for salvation.

@@grandpasslide9643 With that doctrine, a terminally ill person in a hospital room with minutes to live don’t have a chance to accept Christ? I don’t believe it for a minute. But what I do believe is this. At judgement, we will all give an account for the good and bad we have done. And regardless of what church denomination we were raised in, we better do like the Bereans, and search the scriptures and see whether the things we have been told are true. When we get to the place that our little group are the only ones that are on the right road, it’s a good chance that we are on the wrong one. I’m thankful for God’s goodness. Thankful for His word. I have been baptized, but faith in Jesus Christ and His blood is what saved my soul. I don’t know if you’re a Church of Christ or not, but from my experience, baptism and faith etc isn’t enough unless a person is brought in through the Church of Christ. And that right there is scary. I was turned down for communion because they wanted me to be saved the Right way. That’s pure garbage
