13:57 This arrangement of Robo's Theme gives me so much energy it makes me feel like I can do anything.
9:32 genuinely has to be my favourite arrangement of Frog's Theme from anywhere. Especially the second half!
@0:21 - Presentiment
@0:53 - Chrono Trigger
@3:00 - Morning Sunlight
@3:54 - Guardia Millennial Fair
@6:20 - Gato's Song
@7:17 - Wind Scene
@9:32 - Frog's Theme
@12:33 - The Day the World Revived
@13:57 - Robo's Theme
@15:59 - Brink of Time
@13:57 - Robo's Theme FUCKING BANGS
This is so nice. I actually got a little choked up in the transition from The Day the World Revived into Robo's theme. Everything felt like it was going to be ok
Thank you for posting this :) The original link I listened to got removed, and it took me a while to find the main artist/composer's name, as well as the title of the album. This is how I remember the SNES music in my head lol. Greatest cover album ever. Hoping some day they contract this group to do music for a possible remake in the future.
Do you have any idea what the composer's name is? I've been looking everywhere but it's like the only orchestral version of Chrono's theme that doesn't ruin the trumpets is in this video.
@@backupschmliff1156 Nobuo is secretly responsible for the Chrono Trigger music, whatever the credits say. You have to go into the saga of what happened at Square back then. I think he was gracious and didn't take any credit. The persona who is credited for this didn't compose anything of the sort later on, although Chrono Trigger got him great fame (and advertising opportunities :/ ). Sue me for slander but I've been a concert pianist for 25 years and I think I know enough to assert this, having listened to all the work.
If you are looking for the arranger, I WANT TO KNOW TOO. This is a masterpiece of orchestration.
@@Contracrostics You've made an assertion here that Yasunori Mitsuda did not compose music for Chrono Trigger, but what exactly are you implying? Are you implying that he just pretended to have composed music for it without having anything to do with it, or that he composed or arranged some tracks but most of the works were left in the hands of someone else? Particularly Nobuo Uematsu? Uematsu's music sounds very different from Mitsuda to me. The soundtrack of the first Mario Party does actually sound a lot like Chrono Trigger's style. But yes, Uematsu did compose music for Chrono, or at least some tracks like Silence of Light and the Sealed Door. Do you think you could support your views with some evidence?
@@derekyoung8112 Hi Derek; no more evidence than is available to anyone else. My idea primarily comes from all of Mitsuda's late music having much less continuity than the Chrono Trigger soundtrack. To make myself clear: I do believe that he composed the music, but also had help from Uemastu to tie the whole thing together. This is disputable conjecture of course. For background, I'm a concert pianist and have listened to the entire catalogue of both Uematsu and Mitsuda; I'm very sensitive to style differences. As always, I could be wrong. When I said Nobuo is 'secretly responsible' I meant that I believed Mitsuda composed the themes but was coached for continuity. Much love.
@@Contracrostics I'm a neo-classical orchestral composer. Remnants and stylistic similarities to the broad motifs that you hear in Mitsuda's work on Chronotrigger are very clearly heard throughout the rest of the pieces that he's composed throughout his career. Uematsu also did not contribute to the Chrono Cross soundtrack in any way, which has strong motifs derivative of Mitsuda's work on CT. And that's without even going into the fact that Uematsu and Mitsuda's work have pretty distinct differences in how they treat harmony and rhythm. I can't agree with your proffered assertion, nor can I see even the faintest bit of evidence for it.
3:54 I knew this piece would sound very good with an orchestra.
Frog's theme is fantastic.
This arrangement of Frog's Theme somehow reminds me so much of the Army of Darkness training montage. Something about that key modulation that happens. It's magical though I love it.
THIS IS INCREDIBLE WTF
Also, I'm so mesmerized by the spinning of Lucca
This is fucking incredible
OMG thanks!
omg this is to epic and forg theme o man this made my night! take me back to wend i was a kid thx you!
ชอบมาก ขอบคุณครับ thank you so much ❤️
ah yes 9:32 perfection.
So much of this reminds me of classic fantasy films like Conan The Barbarian.
How did I not know this existed?!
Sensacional ❤
How do you get so good sound?
A small peek behind the curtain, but I tend to edit out a lot of imperfections after recording to help improve the sound
Where can buy this and how much now, in loving memory
There's a distinct layer of warmth to this version of the recording. Not sure if it's because of the vinyl. The bass reverb sounds richer and there's more... "soul" to the music vs the cd version.
Almost as if it's played live in a concert hall.
i make love to this
So how much does this vinyl run price wise? I know it's not available for purchase, I went with the box set. Just curious.
Any chance of us buying one of these from you for some fat stacks? I need this on my collection bro.
Sorry, I appreciate you asking but nothing from my collection is currently for sale
Hey all, theres currently a copy of this on eBay Canada for $450 Canadian :( If only I were rich...and Canadian!)
Nice collection Anthony. I have the same record player as you! Was wondering what speakers/monitors you use? Currently looking to upgrade my audio experience.
How do we get a copy of this record, I've looked high and low and can only find CD versions.
eBay or I found my copy from a homie on Facebook from the VGM Vinyl group.
it's on the square enix store bruh
The vinyl isn’t on the Square Enix store. It’s an unofficial release, so was only sold in private
@@MrBlizzetta The vinyl isn't, only CD.
Where can I get this record?
Square Enix Japan store has it. Otherwise search "Chrono Orchestral Arrangement Box" and/or "Kosuke Yamashita" (make sure that name is mentioned on the listing. There are quite a few remix albums floating around.) on Amazon or eBay. ~$80 USD is the average I'm seeing.
This information is actually incorrect. Square Enix never sold this vinyl, as it is an unofficial bootleg. It was sold privately
@@vgmvinyl so there is no way to get it now ? seems nowhere to be found
@@julienb2764 the only way to track a copy down is to buy from someone who owns it. It is nowhere to be found because there are likely only a few hundred copies made and nobody is selling them. It is an unlicensed bootleg release, so it is common to not be able to find much information floating around
How do I buy
How did you get this?
Square sells an official Chrono /TriggerOrchestral Arrangement product. This viewing/listening here is someone else edits to the official cd that were rip and remastered and burnt back to a vinyl. Which is why Anthony keeps saying you cant buy this at official store were they only sell the cd. And the bootlegs on Ebay are copies of the original on SE store cd, right?
Square sells this album in a CD format, yes. This vinyl was sourced from the CD audio and then mastered specifically for vinyl
Out of curiosity, did you manage to get ahold of a vinyl copy of Chrono Cross that was released with this album?
There is no vinyl pressing of Chrono Cross Orchestral Arrangement, no official pressing and no bootlegs
@@vgmvinyl bummer. Figured if anyone would know. Thanks for response.
Can anyone find the real Orchestral Arrangement for Chrono Cross on UA-cam? It was on the site for a while but got deleted it seems. People always link some other arrangement album that is decent, but nowhere near as good as the Orchestral Arrangement.
There is a vinyl bootleg of the Chrono Cross Orchestral Arrangement album that came out in 2023, but unfortunately the creator has expressed wishes to not allow a UA-cam rip
@@vgmvinyl Lol I can understand Square not wanting it on UA-cam, but the guy who just copied it to vinyl? Pretty strange. There actually isn't even a regular version of it on UA-cam anymore. The MP3 is only $10 on Amazon so I'm just going to buy it. Maybe throw it up on YT myself though I'm sure it will be taken down fairly quickly.
great orchestration. shame that the orchestra seems a bit unenthusiastic and makes quite a few mistakes + balance seems to be off sometimes.
I'm just happy there's a recording/arrangement of this that isn't a bunch of samples.. this is the first I've seen of something like this on UA-cam besides the two tracks that came with the PlayStation remaster or whatever it was.
When/where was this recorded, I wonder?
Fourteen people have no ears.
