Exactly. The reason Europe owns these weapons is for a war with who else but Russia. Ukraine is fighting Russia, therefore these systems in their current numbers are superfluous in western arsenals.

Don’t forget that each system is made of multiple batteries, a radar and command center. The Patriot system doesn’t cover 360 degrees, thus each system is made out of multiple trucks armed with multiple missiles.
You're assuming that others actually work
money and it will take years until new systems arrive. Building something like this takes weeks.

Germany, thank you so much! God bless you! And yes, it would be good if other countries can help Ukraine to save peoples' lives. I know from my family's children there in Ukraine, they are petrified when these constant russian missile attacks on Ukraine's territory happen... especially because they are usually whilst little children are asleep in the night-time (3-5am)... and bless them, they *still* have to get up for school in the morning, while their parents still have to get up for work, to keep Ukraine's economy afloat. This for over 2 years now... it's horrendous!
It needs to be stopped and the skies over Ukraine need to be closed in whichever way possible.
And yes, russia openly states on the state-run TV how it wants other countries under its control too... Stop the suffering in Ukraine, please go all out to get this monstrous russian war out of such a huge chunk of our beloved Europe!

Germany actually had only 12 Systems (4 launcher each), with now only 9 remaining. So 25% will/were sent to Ukraine
We have 18? I thought it was only 10 but maybe the article I read that in didn’t mention 8 of them because they are stationed somewhere so they can’t be delivered to Ukraine
Let's hope Diehl finds an arrangement with other customers. I'm sure Austria can do another year without their new Iris-T SLM. They even profit from them being used in Ukraine first, that will show the supplier any design flaws that need to be fixed. But for now Ukraine needs the next system that is finished and every one after that until the situation stabilizes. Next Estonia and Latvia's requirements are most urgent and should be given priority. Austria, Slovenia, Egypt and Germany should receive their orders afterwards. Diehl will have expanded production facilities by then, so things should move quickly at that point.
Ukraine needs a cheaper alternative to the patriot system like the Iron dome. It's to expensive to operate and supply weapons.

Russian sources used this footage to claim that Russian forces destroyed a MIM-104 Patriot air defense system, although the Russian MoD has yet to revise its earlier claim about destroying a Ukrainian S-300 system.
Several OSINT social media accounts concluded that the strike likely destroyed a Ukrainian Patriot air defense system, although another OSINT account noted that Ukrainian forces also use the MAN KAT1 trucks as logistics vehicles. ISW has not yet observed evidence confirming that Russian forces destroyed a Patriot air defense system.
TLDR They destroyed two trucks which are often used for Patriots, but it's not confirmed that they were transporting Patriots at the time. So 0 confirmed, 2 reasonably possible.
