From the Beach to the Center of Malaga - Spain 4K Travel Channel

- Malaga is not only the second largest city in Andalusia but also the second most important cruise port in Spain. Enormous efforts were made and within the last few years the pier was completely new expanded. Also see: blog.myvideomedia.com/evening-....
Malaga was founded by the Phoenicians, however, for a long time dominated by Carthage. In the second Punic War, Malaga fell to the Romans.
This is testified by a magnificent amphitheater in the center of city.
In the 11th century the Moors ruled here and built the Alcazaba (Citadel) . At the siege of Napoleon Bonaparte in the 17th century, it was partially destroyed.
In the morning we take the city bus no.14 to the beach Playa de la Malagueta. The Costa del Sol is known for its pleasant subtropical climate and its long sandy beaches. The sea and the beach are wreathed in a morning haze.
Only a few smaller boats are on the sea. At first it looked like the rescue of boat people, but then turned out to be a rescue exercise.
One sees at the solid concrete walls for the coastal and port protection, that the sea here also can be rough and brutal.
The colorful cube-shaped building in the center of the Paseo del Muelle Dos is a branch of the Museum Centre Pompidou.
We enjoy the colorful mass of flowers at the fountain, Fuente de las Tres Gracias, and in the park, Jardines de Pedro Luis Alonso.
Along the slope below the citadel, we go to the Plaza de la Aduana. Modern sculptures decorate the square. It is probably a sign that Malaga wanted to become European Capital of Culture in 2016. Unfortunately the city has not been awarded. We pass the amphitheater, Teatro Romano de Malaga, and reach the Plaza de la Merced.
The obelisk in the center is dedicated to General Don Jose Maria Torrijos. In 1831, he was shot on the beach together with 48 comrades. In the background we see the house where Pablo Picasso was born.
Via Calle Granada with its narrow and winding side streets we reach the Plaza de la Constitucion.
From here, the Calle Marques de Larios leads to the Plaza de la Marina where our walk ends. The Plaza de la Marina, together with all the department stores and cafes, forms the heart of the business center of the city.

I do too. I can honestly say that its one of the best places that I have ever been too. When i was over there last time, it happened to be some kind of spanish celebration. All of the spanish women were dressed up in spanish dresses, bands playing and the atmosphere was electric. I love the park there too. So calm and relaxing. I love spain and love the spanish people.

Luann rouff please I will need a feedback as you go. I am going there December God's willing
It was very nice, but of the three cities we visited (Malaga, Granada, Seville), we preferred Granada. Malaga is very much "party central," with throngs of people in the streets past midnight. It's a lively, festive atmosphere, but we liked the quieter streets of Granada. Plenty of tourists in all three places, but Granada felt more like a real city, and the Alhambra and nearby Albayacin district are marvelous. Just our opinion, of course.
Thank you very much for your impressions! Best wishes and have a great weekend!

Thank you very much for the information! Best wishes!
Your Wellcome
Thank you!
Interesting story about the cathedral in Malaga: it has an unfinished second tower because they donated the money to the American Revolution. When US President Teddy Roosevelt heard about this approximately 130 tears later he offered to finish the tower ... But the citizens of Malaga said they liked the cathedral the new way. Great city - so much to do in such an easy to get to kind of way.
Thank you very much for the information! Best wishes!
The donated money was silver coin, slated to pay for tower #2.
Hi there, we've been enjoying watching this, especially as we film natural sight and sound walks and have just filmed Malaga too, so it's lovely to see someone doing something similar but from another viewpoint. Thank you for taking the time to add your video and for making Malaga look so beautiful. perhaps we could subscribe to each other and share more?
Thank you very much for your nice feedback! Best wishes and have a beautiful time!
I really want to go to malaga but I've heard that people doesn't like or can't speak english over there and I can't spanish. is this true or have I been misinformed?
Equal from which country you come: in 90% of all locations the people will not speak your mother tongue, but is this a reason not to travel to this locations? If you are open minded you will understand what the people mean and you can talk with hands and feet, no problem! Americans alway think that all people in the world have to speak english, but this is wrong!
is this video in the summer
It was made in May of 2015. Greetings!
