I love how NONE of these videos have an actual performance review 😂
I don't understand installing an aftermarket cold air intake on a boosted engine. Seems redundant.
What is the part number and name of the air sensor extension harness?
What would be the advantage to leaving off the the inspection window?
Have you guys ever tested any of these cold air intakes mods on a Dyno? I would be interested in seeing real world increases to torque and horsepower. It'll be really great if someone would follow up and confirm MPG increase as well. Thanks for making the videos. Keep up the good work
iandi Boats i installed the same kit but the model for my 2015 Ford f150 3.5 ecoboost lariat Fx4 and it gave it an increase of 72 HP and 122 pounds of torque.
Like i mentioned it was on a 15 model right when it came out and the intake system is still performing like new.
What vehicle were you wanting to add it on?
Kevin Perez last month purchased a 2018 F-150 Lariat with a 2.7 ecoboost engine. My main concern is better MPG. I'm more than happy with the speed of this truck. When I put it in sports mode it's unbelievably fast. I have the 373 gear ratio. My assumption is a faster truck means lower MPG, would you say that's correct? Thanks for commenting.
Kevin Perez Yeah right ! No where near what you claim ! Not even close !
Last video I saw was 14hp, it’s a joke
That makes alot of sense. These cold air intake mods are costly, so I would be very interested in knowing or seeing the before and after on a given F150.
Would have been nice if you actually fired up the truck so people can hear the sound differance. What gives?
Where are those headlights from?
They were custom made for the 2017 SEMA show.
What is the bracket for?
What you think that gave you on gas mileage. What did this set up run?
We did not test fuel economy with it, its just over $400 www.cjponyparts.com/roush-cold-air-intake-kit-2-7l-3-5l-ecoboost-f-150-2018-f-150-raptor-2017-2018/p/422089/
Will it make the turbos louder ???
Yes you will hear them a little better.
Buy an after market blow off valve.
I have seen those in a lot of driver's builds. what do they do and are they easy to install? This is my first F150 truck (2.7l version)
Is there seriously that giant gap between the snorkel and air box? Why even have the box if you're going to have a gap that large?
If I need a template to install some crap then I would not pay money for the intake.
And this plastic is $419? Are you kidding me?
Recently installed it on my 2021 powerboost and found that the fitment between the factory air scoop and the Roush air box to be pretty loose and plenty of room for heat soaked air to enter the airbox. Is this just my kit or is this a problem with the overall design?
Definitely walked me through the install I have a 2021 ecoboost and it was almost identical thank you!!!
Awesome glad to help
Did you find gains? What size motor?
How does this not void the warrant????
The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act states that the burden of proof is on the shop or manufacturer or whomever that the modification you did to your vehicle explicitly caused an otherwise warranted part to fail. Basically they'd have to prove that this intake caused the engine or whatever to have a catastrophic failure, rather than you proving that it didn't. This is of course US law so if you don't live in the United States it may be different. Cheers
Too expensive
Just finished up installing this on my 2020 Raptor. Step by step identically to this video. Honestly, the hardest part was 1:23 😂
Is California smog legal and will a Mishimoto intercooler with pipes increase its potential?
You never mention the performance increase. Does it give more horsepower and how much?
so you have to print a template that doesnt come in the $400 kit, wtf
Installed on my 2020 raptor... kept getting getting a check engine light. Anyone else experience that? Code was for the crank case pressure sensor
on the raptor you sometimes have to add a vent restrict in one of the oil breather hoses
@@CJBroncoF150I am 19 Raptor i was about to order it, where do i get that Oil Breather hoses and how to install them?
Were you able to resolve the check engine light issue? I have 19 Raptor and i was about to buy it but i want to make sure it is resolved and how you resolved it thank you
E Rocks I ended up taking it off and putting it back to stock. I was told that you can really only add intake to the raptor if you also tune it... which I don’t want to do to my truck.
Ok a side note I’m selling my brand new roush intake lol if you wanna pay substantially less than brand new
@@weschase1065 Hey, thank you for your honest feedback and I really appreciate it. If you taken off yours, I don't think I will put it on either. Thanks again!!!!
@1:58 You say "Remove this from airbox", what is this? I bought this cold air intake, and got to this part, but the instructions made no mention of this specific part or how to reattach it after you dismantle it. What is it? Is it important? Where do you connect it after you remove it?
Do you need a tune ?
Nope!
Junk! The argument is, unrestricted airflow equals more power. It also means less particles are being filtered out of the air the engine is breathing. Who is going to notice 5HP more or 10LBS of torque? Not for me, heavy filter equals engine longevity. When I used to do high performance machine work for marine and auto’s we had a saying, “fast don’t last.”
a larger filter surface area can have more airflow without loss in filter efficiency.
Will this intake fit 2017 model?
The exact one we installed in this video is made for the 2018, but here is a link to the model that fits your 2017 www.cjponyparts.com/roush-cold-air-intake-kit-ecoboost-2-7l-3-5l-f-150-2015-2017-f-150-raptor-2017/p/421981/
CJ Off-Road Thank you. I have 2017 Roush F150 but I am not a fan of the open Air Filter so called Cold Air Intake when in reality open face one sucks all hot air from engine bay. This is why I never Installed the one in your link. I was asking if the one for 2018 model will also fit 2017 since 2018 model is covered.
Wojciech Gierczynski it will fit.
Why wouldn’t this fit a 2016-2017 f150?
Will this fit a new 2018 Ford expedition?
20% increased air flow over stock. My question is this, is that improved air flow a result of decreased filtration?
No, it’s from increased tube diameter and the roush filter actually filters better than stock because it’s oiled
Love those headlights, any way to catch a link to those?
Thank you, we did not do a video on them, they were custom made headlights for the 2017 SEMA show.
Has anybody else gotten a crankcase check engine light code after installing this? I just ordered a afe crankcase tube to try and fix it
Did the crankcase tube fix it ?
