i'll hold back, and continue using my Note 9 until Note 11 or 12 becomes available... cant keep upgrading smartphones every year for minimal increase in specs, there are better things i need to use money for.

indeed. it's not apple to apple at all to compare note series with another series, unless you go more spesific to particular features like camera or something. Otherwise, it's simple. Another series don't have the S-Pen. Boom!!!

I actually upgraded to the Note 9 from the Samsung S7 edge.. yea i could have bought the S10+ but i wanted something different and i am loving my Note 9 Especially with the Pen.. i definitely will be staying with the Note for now on..

@@xPhantomxify yes i can definitely tell the difference my wife has the s10 and its a pretty darn good phone but there's only little difference in speed maybe by a sec tops.. im very happy with the Note 9 i bought.. and ofcourse i believe she has the better Camara but i dont take pics on my phone so that doesn't bother me at all.. and the note 9 is really huge compared to the s10.. i mainly use my phone for streaming movies so i wanted the bigger screen for this main reason

@@ecor150 Guys having Note9 should definitely wait for Note11 or so. As I too don't find much reason to upgrade from my Note8 to Note9. But would be looking for Note10 or may be when price of Note9 goes for half next year on launch of Note 10, as then Note9 would be available at an attractive price.
Nice Video. My Note 9 can only be upgraded to another Note-Series, definitely not for the S-Series or the S plus-Series. The up coming Samsung Foldable phones might be able to convince me to an upgrade.

I got the Note 9 for € 871 (512gb) two day's ago. I absolutely love it. The S10 series are a better phone but i feel Note 9 is more then enough for me. Amazing screen, amazing battery, amazing performance and amazing features. You can't go wrong with any of them.

Hey Saki, thanks for all the work you put into these informative videos.One thing you didnt mention is form factor. The S10 is noticeably lighter and smaller while still delivering better battery, and same big screen experience. Ive had the S10 for a few days and the cutout doesnt affect my thoughts on it at all im happy to say. the wide angle lens makes a big difference to me , front(not as much) and back(very much). Is there an update coming to S10 for night camera?
iPhone user for 10 years. This year I saw the light. A proud owner of a Samsung note 9. To put it simply, ios is like a box while andriod is Freedom.

Having used the s10 for 3 days I was worried about that, but honestly I am already not even noticing it. The brain is already filtering it out quite nicely,. Fact is, to get a 6.4 or 6.5" display in such a small body, they can either use a punch, a notch, or motorised section. That's the only options.

Great videos, always love watching your comments. Only recommendation, the phones are switched from left to right side and back again when you switch scenes. This isn't that bad since we can tell the difference between these phones, but sometimes it's a little hard when products look similar.

Let me just leave this here before I even see the video: if you have the Note 9...no, you should not upgrade to the S10. Unless you're rich and a tech nerd, that is.
@@jimmyc1518 Most of us *could* upgrade. And with a trade in, for less than a thousand bucks, but what I meant is...if you're not rich, you are not going to throw $700 - 800 away for minimal improvement after you bought a brand new phone only several months ago.

Good video to explain the differences. After watching, I'm definitely keeping my Note 9. Fortunately,, I paid nowhere near the price you mention in your video.
The S10+ also has Dual Pixel Autofocus on both the rear and front-facing cameras, making it really good for vlogging, while the Note 9 only has DPAF on the main rear camera. I had both phones before, but decided I'm fine with the Note 9 for now.

This was very helpful. I have both and can attest that the gains from a note 9 to an s10 plus are minimal. I did it for the faster CPU and it is noticeable. Great vid!

While not a reviewer, I do own both the note 9 and the S10+. And to me the are about the same as far as day to day use. But most of the time I usually grab the note 9. If I can trade my S10+ for the note10 I will do it. And that will probably be my last phone for a while. Why two phones just like gadget. Very informative videos and by the way I was still like the wind blows air buds. Thx. Keep up the good work.
Can get the Note 9 for $520 now in June 2019. I think I'm going to buy the Note 9 instead of an s10 or s10 plus...even though I prefer the finger print scanner in the front.

Great informative video as always. Being an S9+ owner, I, like others would rather see an apple to apple comparison to make a more informed decision. Note owners have their own niche as well and are more likely to bypass the S10+ in favor of the next Note device.

You forgot to mention that the Note9 has a physical Notification LED, which the S10 doesn't have...
I hate that LED and it KILLS your battery.
I'm returning my S10+ for a new Note9. I put up with the slow inscreen fingerprint reader and the lack of an Iris Scanner and for me the hole wasn't a problem at all, BUT no LED indicator was an absolute no go and I hate staring at a blank black screen. Note9 for me!

@@Gregory077 they did and theres things that you can do to make it faster, however the old fingerprint designs takes milliseconds to register your finger while the S10 finger reader takes about a second. It's not too different but coming from the S7 and S8, it was too much of a difference for me personally.

I would like to know your personal opinion on a matter, currently Note 9 and S10e have the same price, besides the obvious differences, the Note is almost 6 months older than the S, does this count as an advantage for the S?

My opinion is I'm keeping my note 9 I love my spen and no hole in the screen I actually tried out s10 plus at bb was not that impressed with it I like the heavier build quality of the note 9 s10 feels less premium yes its light but if dropped will definitely break this is just my own opinion saki lot of people think note 9 is already outdated... Definitely not at all.

I just spent a $1000 when the Note 9 dropped, so I'll wait until the Note 11 hits the market. Who has a $1000 to basically throw away every few months, because in my opinion it seems like no matter what phone you get it will be obsolete within the first 15 minutes of it's debut anyway.
I have a note 9, which I still have. But I purchased an s10+ mainly because my note 9 lagged a little after updating to pie, so I wanted something faster. Plus I purchased the 512gb of the s10+, when I only have the 128gb for the note. I also love the immersive screen on the s10+ over the note 9.
Just for a few minutes i got the monthly update for my N9,it´s for me the best one i ever had.Waiting for N11 or 12.....thanks for this video,you Notefan.-)
As always, your review and comparisons are very informative. I'm only 5 months into Note 9, and I love my phone. Although S9 looks amazing, I can't see upgrading at this time. When it's time for me to upgrade, I'll probably wait for the note 10, because I use my S Pen a lot.
The Note series is a different formfactor to the S series devices aimed at users that wants specific features. I been a Note user since Note 2.

For Note 9 users the answer is actually much simpler. There are 3 primary reasons to not upgrade to the S10+ (or even the Note 10 unless it's massively revolutionary):
1. You already own a Note 9, a $1,000 phone. It's costs $0 to keep it.
2. Note 9 is still a top of the line phone, not even a year old yet. It's powerful, gorgeous, runs the newest software, and pretty much does everything. In no way is it long in the tooth. Not even close.
3. You don't need to buy a new $1,000 phone every damn year. Come on now, are we so vane?

Thats a bit foolish, as said in the video, the S10+ has more features and better performance in EVERY way except the S-pen on the Note, so if your not impressed with the s10+, you'll be bored with the Note 9 unless a little pen impresses you so much lol

I just ran the single-core multi-core test on my Note 9 and it scored higher than yours even though mine has less RAM. I got 2388 Single and 8625 multi with 5.45 GB RAM. Did you have other apps open in the background?
If Note 9 had that extra ultra wide camera, that would be the perfect smartphone for me.
I will never buy a phone without a stylus again.. I have the Note 9 512 with a 512 SD card so. I have a terabyte with me and my stylus. Love it. Could not care less about fingerprint scanning - I use a trusted device and have a Samsung smart watch so I'm good with unlocking.. Will only upgrade if they do a Note Fold that closes like a book and still has a full size screen on the outside... Great video! 👍

My wife and I upgraded from Galaxy S6 phones to the Note 9. The S10+ was a bit more expensive and I felt like the Note 9 was just a better deal for the money. The notch-free display was a big plus for me, and I like having a stylus to take notes on the fly as needed
Have both and where I do like the s10+, I'm sending it back and having my upgrade reversed and going back to my Note9. With the s10+ my pinky finger on the hand I'm holding it with is constantly causing issues that should only happen if you use a two finger gesture deliberately. That and the ultrasonic fingerprint reader works great sometimes, sometimes not at all and sometimes I have to press so hard I worry might break the screen at some point. Excellent proof of concept but it needs a larger area to press and work more consistently. Other than that I think it's a great device and others may not have these problems but for me, I'll wait for the Note10 where hopefully these challenges will be gone. Can't go wrong with either at the end of the day. Great review.

Despite what Samsung thinks I prefer the bezel of the Note 9 more than the pinch hole camera of the S10.

I did upgrade from Note 9 to S10+ because
1) I am not a huge user of SPen
2) Since upgrading my Note 9 to android pie and Samsung 1UI, I feel the phone developed some quirks here and there, may be bugs
3) Battery life got a hit after upgrade, while S10+ battery is phenomenal, even better than Huawei Mate 20 Pro in my opinion
4) Camera upgrade in S10+ is more important
5) I am still enjoying the same gorgeous screen (or a bit better) with slightly lesser size and weight
I allo did upgrade from thé note 9 to S10+ for the same reasons. And I am very happy

I'm a Note user and loving it. But to piggy back off of previous responses, in addition to not being a s pen user. If you are not a Netflix watcher or watch videos for that matter. The hole punch doesn't ruin your viewing experience then I agree S10 doe the win.
