Lyrics:
Follow the signs
We are the victims but we are also the crime
And the only one who can judge us is the earth in time
I will show you more, a discovery
Beyond what you perceive
As you're tangled in thought, believe
And let your soul unleash
We're well on our way but they lead us astray
Perpetuate with distractions
As fare as we've made only as one we can save humanity
The absence of what you hold dear it'll leave you stranded
Heartache will stem from fear
Ultimately the choice is up to you (the choice is up to you)
But in the end disbelief can't be denied can not be refused
They tremble in fear in the undercover sanctuary
And the walls disguise despair in the undercover sanctuary
I will show you more, we're uncovering
Let your soul unleash
The absence of what you hold dear it'll leave you stranded
Heartache will stem from fear
We are the victims but we are also the crime
And the only one who can judge us is the earth in time
We are victims yet we are the crime
And the only one who can judge us is the earth
Follow the signs

Checking in for my fellow brothers. We've lost some friends since this song came out. I was just a kid in High school now I've got some land and a nice job and raising some backyard chickens. Still thinking about all the fallen nothing will make me forget my dearest friends. The choice is up to you.
the drums in this song are insane
True, I heard they even threw the drummer from his seat like a dozen times
Sumerian Records,
I just wanted to express my personal thanks for posting all of your artist's records on UA-cam. I primarily use Spotify as my music application, and I was sad to learn that you pulled some of your tunes from the app :( However, since you share streams of full records here, I can decide if I want to purchase the record for myself.
Sharing your streams on UA-cam has convinced me to purchase a couple Born of Osiris records, as well as Veil of Maya and the HAARP machine. Artist's and Sumerian Records alike, keep the magic coming!
I couldn't agree more. Avid Spotify user here, and I literally just figured out you have every CD on this channel as a playlist. I wish you would release everything on Spotify, but that's why I am a listener and Ash is a label owner.
This is BY FAR one of the most amazing pieces of composition in the history of music, hearing it today, I still can't believe this was written over 6 years ago. I honestly think this type of magic only happens once in a decade or more, absolutely amazing. The Discovery is something we all should hold dear!
Their album 'Tomorrow We Die Alive' is literally this x1000. Not primarily into metalcore but I fucking thrash to this bands tunes.
Jeremiah Thompson that album sucks. Jason Richardson made this band
@@jebd3293 bruh, c'mon, the discovery is BoO's best
Don't even try that
@@gonknodge everyone has their own tastes. Tomorrow We Die Alive was just more memorable for me since it was my introduction to the band and i just loved the overall feel and how well all the songs worked together
Eh idk about all that. It’s a good song lol.
I miss Jason :( he gave this band something special. they aren't bad without him there just not as good imo.
Agree. Been coming back to this specific album for literal years. This was something special.
@@smeauxk seriously its such a shame what they're become. new song is the most basic metalcore songwriting and structure its shameful. Jason leaving completely fucked this band
@@monorady sadly this seems to be a common progression for metal bands, alot of them seem to just become simple, generic versions of themselves.
I noticed how much Jason influenced the song-writing when he was with BoO. When he left and went to Chelsea Grin, it's so obvious when you listen to the Evolve E.P,. That is almost an extension of The Discovery in a way, to me anyway.
3:17 sounds like boss battle music
You'll probably love Horse the band. Check out "Bunnies" "Manateen" and "Pol's Voice"
This album is definitely the best discovery I ever made.
Man, I used to listen to this album a lot back in highschool. This was one of the bands that got me into metal music in general. These guys along with Winds of Plague really set the bar for me in those days, so I often lean toward prog/djent and symphonic deathcore when looking for metal bands to listen to.
Soldier smacked the life of Spy with that solo battle.
+Rob Mick OMG HAHAHAHA!
+Rob Mick Then spy does that shattered skies come back
SOLO BATTLE
Scout's Amazing Adventures (Part 3/6)
Thank you Jason !!
3:17 BEST SOLO EVER
Check out this solo, my favorite of ever

Soldier: Solo Battle
THE EPIC GAMERS agreed
+JOSERICOTACONA CHOMANDELAJONES no offense but this is probably the most boring born of osiris lead ever. its ok, but a bit dull.
dissimulation is better
Keys work in this song is just awesome.
0:28 PRIMAL CONCRETE SLEDGE!!
ever since this album dropped and I listened to this song my life hasn't been the same, I truly began to see the signs everywhere...
This song still gets me teary eyed. Its so fucking beautiful😭😭
Cameron together with Jason is peak BOO. The discovery is truly a masterpiece of a metal album.
The double bass of this album stole my heart and had me head banging into another universe. So sick seeing them at warped tour 2010
It's something special. This album got me into a lot of bands. I believe this is the foundation of my taste for metal.
I went to the 2011 or 2012 tour in Orlando. Had them sign my then GF now wife. They seemed like really cool guys
I saw them in Albuquerque, NM a few months ago they bring the intensity!
The mallet percussion in the song is great
Nice display pic
Auditory disharmony, chaos, madness. How could anyone's nervous system organize this noise into anything pleasing to hear? I would love to know.
i blasted this shit while i drove out of the student parking lot and some couple was like WTF giving me dirty looks hahahaha
And I bet you just absolutely loved the attention it got you. Lol
Forming Stories im a drummer i perform for attention
I shouldve been a pornstar
it's never too late to become a porn star man, give it a shot. I mean worst case scenario... actually I don't know that out come ov that one at all. fuck it though, right??
respect, sir. I would have rode with you. show those rap loving tards what real music is. \m/
@ApolloBSIV im glad you brought that up lol and yes indeed they were badass before Richardson joined ...i after listening to this album i went back got "the new reign" and was diggin it
I still like this band, but this was their last AMAZING album.
Love cd. Banger
😊
3:17 That one guitar solo Heat Action from Yakuza Kiwami 2 Silly Mod
The outro is just one of the best solos i´ve ever listen to!
This has the best solo ever!
first time listening to these guys...not bad.
This was the song that I listened to the first time I got high. I wanted to start crying cause it felt so amazing.
I know this album is fairly new and all, but i cant begin to describe how much im anticipating new music from these guys!!!!!!! AWSOME band
damn its been 6 years wtf, i remember this like yesturday ._.
Me too...
@@matiascastillo7083 now 9 years lmaoo
Now this comment is 6 years old... I still remember this like yesterday
Jason is one of the best of our generation.
I want a thicc goth gf
it aint worth trust me
@@potatokaiyote im a ranch salad on the side with cheese crunbles. Chooooooofffbbmgfbah
I want a physical copy of born of osiris deep in my ass
Follow the signs
lmfao I love this comment so much
I love this band so much
Best boo album ever.........
sober people complain too much about how much stoners comment on here about weed.
let me explain this: between the empyreal, archaic, and celestial beauty of the album artwork, the amazing and beautiful melodies of the guitars and keyboards, and the mind elevating effects of weed, these three things come together in a force of jaw dropping awe that few things in this world compare too. dont get me wrong, i understand the importance of sobriety in society,
truly unique sound .. this is awesome ! lml
+Sacerdotisa Carolina Frimost 000-000000-00000-00000 1^ 000000 1^1^ 000 00000- 00000
LOL
I realize that, the person I was replying to said "I'm sorry but i'm not happy Jason Richardson isn't in the band anymore but i'm kinda happy he's in Chelsea Grin now, maybe their new album will be really good." So I told them to check out their Chelsea Grin's new song.
I have not heard a song quite like this, its quite a gem.
I fucking love this band so much. This entire album shows the amount this band has matured as a group. Its like the epitome of everything that is fucking awesome about metal music. I seriously cant stop listening to born of osiris.
I love how the commercial was for PROGRESSIVE. Thats actually fitting in a way lol
they have sick album art by far some of the best. Holy shit this band is amazing.
3:13, best solo ever. >:D
more like the best "sweeps'' ever
Hussain Murtaza There are only two sweeps on the solo (one played twice) and they last like a second. And it's not the best solo ever, not even close.
It sounds so good because they have more than 2 guitars playing it. Even still it does sound absolutely amazing to me...
No, XIV/Behold has their greatest Sweeps.
Blo0dredRidingHo0d They had more than a guitarist, they had Jason Richardson.
my mom got me a t-shirt of this band, i had know idea who they were. so i looked them up. im pretty satisfied =)
FOLLOW THE MEMES😎😎😎😎😎
Elvin Weynants 😎👌🔥😤
The originality of BoO is just plain epic. Plus, David is probably the greatest bass player in the history of humanity.
SOLO BATTLE 3:16
@Jay DiNitto its a reference to a very old team fortess 2 video
@Jay DiNItto it's for tf2 animation
yes
Ok, just declared this Band to be one of my Favorites!
"Dude, can someone show me to the nearest bathroommm?"
"FOLLOW THE SIIIIIIGNS!
I don't know if you guys have noticed this, but circling "his" Hand are the glyphs of the zodiac. I don't want to over analyze, but could they be saying to "follow the signs?" as in, the signs of the zodiac? Seems like it. Though that was pretty cool
SOLO BATTLE
Just saw them live yesterday.. Lets just say, BEST CONCERT EVER!!!!!
oh my goodness. the quality of this album on yt is hideous.
Born of Osiris is one of the breed of visionaries that have inner awakening of the spiritual kind NOT religious. There is a big difference. Whenever I listen to these bands, I get energy rushing up my spine and I get like a mental orgasm lol. Im not kidding, apparently its called kundalini.
3:10
I went to see them at summer slaughter one year and they cancelled their performance the day I was there. No official reason. I'm not surprised to hear your story. I had a feeling.
Their instrumentals are sick, and their screams aren't totally out of pitch like 584908595 of the other shitty metalcore music trifling the internet now a days.
Born of Ostris is a band I would love to see live :D
BTBAM is aight too
just bought the discovery the other day, best decision of my week
imagine playng this on violin
Every time that I listen to that solo I get goosebumps just because of how awesome it is... then I look at my guitar and feel depressed because I know I won't be able to play it so I just want to quit
Born of Osiris (and BMTH's older stuff) are the only deathcore bands i've been able to really get into. Most other bands sound kinda samey.
All shall Perish - Awaken the Dreamers. Listen to this one..it is the best deathcore album ever
nanomachines Sumatra - Heliocratic Infinity. Crazy good deathcore
+nanomachines chelsea grin my little friend
+nanomachines I didn't think Born of Osiris was Deathcore, I thought it was Djent....
+chill_turtle Chelsea Grin is really a crap band on stage.
This is one of the heaviest songs in metal with one of the most beautifully brutal breakdowns in metal.
I ain't following shit
You because you are following the signs! Not shit, silly goose.
THE CHOICE IS UP TO YOUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!
If it's not the sure sign of a good time I'm all set
Totally! One of their best tracks. I can't wait to mess myself up again at the next Periphery show I go to.
Behold's solo is far better than this one.
Don't believe in me? See for yourself.
Solos*
behold has like 3 different solos. Jason really fucking shined in this album tbh
182guns I'm talking about the really big one.
***** the one in the very end?
182guns yeah, the huge ass sweep
Jason , who did the solo has now left the band and currently is in Chelsea Grin
@MrPartyatyourhouse Caues this is the best band ever, and listening to it makes it sound more badass when im high.
Oh what i would do to find a guitarist this skilled for my band!
this band = best discovery evaa
unbelievable lyrics as usual .. very smart
KILLUMINIATI
This is easily the best written album I have ever listened to, no joke..
The thing that i've noticed is that BoO,VoM,Periphery etc.and all those bands are getting equal promotion by their record label, hence the picture on the video where all those bands' album covers are there.I've noticed also that Djent/Techinal Death metal and Deathcore are the new thing in the 2010's.Metalcore starts to vanish IMO,it was once really popular in the 2000's...it still is but as much as it was 5-6 years ago.
the more I listen to this song, the more I'm falling in love with it!
i loveeee this album
You sir are a legend.
Ohhh it was the guitarist that moved! I heard something about that! That explains the similarities between the killer solos in this and in CG's "Lilith". :D
I really like the slightly longer version of the music video, it has a great choral intro and then the vocalist breaks in with FOLLOW THE SIGNS! i wish i could buy that version, haha
this is my jam. I put it on my toast in the morning.
he shouted follow the signs a few weeks ago at a concert and i asked myself the morning after why some people listen shiti pop music ., this is holy music..
... this song is epic beyond human mindd
Saw these guys live last night, blew my fucking mind how perfect they sound live, best sounding band live hands down.
Slipknot is my favorite band. One of the bands that got me into this kind of music. They put on the best live show I've been to. It gets pretty fucking crazy in the pit man. Lol.
I just got madly in love with these guys but can anyone tell me what these guys write about in this album? i'm really curious on what they write about.
I don't understand why everyone is so fanny flustered about their new song.... I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure "Follow the Signs" was their single for this album...And this song is almost in the same ballpark as "Machine." It's a giant breakdown with an awesome lead near the end. Most bands release their safest song first.
This song is so clean
This is literally one of the most amazing songs I've ever heard in my life
@WarPigRS hell yeah! Periphery was my first then I heard the progenitors of djent, Meshuggah. I've been thinking about checking out TesseracT, etc. I'm getting addicted as of late :D
@Sourdeezie That's english, but if you want a reference, deathcore is like whitechapel and djent is THIS, or after the burial, or veil of maya.
this song was insane live. everyone went crazy.
@DarkRApture001 I'm hella proud of your boy to. Metal Head in the making.
that's good song writing right there you're appealing to 2 different markets at the end of this you've got the squeal and the bomb dive, they give you the squeal bomb dive, yeeaaassss
This album was beautiful oh lawdy
DAT RIFF @ 1:21... OMG that guitar tone is not achievable without the godliness that is Jason Richardson's setup. Mind=Blown.
no jason plays it, then the other guys harmonizes in the 2nd part, they both play the solo the 2nd time, its not a solo battle.
BoO's guitarist has done WONDERS to Chelsea Grin. i advise everyone to listen to their new EP.
My experience differs greatly from yours then. They played on an off-day from Warped this year - with Memphis May Fire and some locals - and they were great. Maybe it was because it was a small venue and they fed off the energy, but they played great - Bow Down got the place fucking moving. Also, David and Ronnie had no problems talking, signing, and taking a few photos. Sorry to hear you had a shitty experience though dude.
@themasterbatingclown actually, the only songs he wrote are XIV and Behold. And he wrote the solos in Devastate and Follow The Signs. The rest is aaaaaaall Lee and Caz (y)
Ahhhhhh such good synth.
I've heard contradictory statements on their live performances. Having been playing in bands for the last 11 years I can say that almost ALL bands no matter how good have the occassional bad performance. They'll be in Houston November 18th, so I'm hoping to see them then, sad thing is they're playing on the studio stage at warehouse live rather than the big stage, i've played the studio stage before and it's TINY as fuck.
very thomas haake style drumming i love it!
