बहुत बडी खामी रह गई. 1976 - 1977 की ईमर्जंसी. ईंदिराजी डिक्टेटर बन गई. फिर उन्होनेही 1977 मे इलेक्शन करवाये- जैसा कभी कही होता नही - और हार भी गइ. उनके बाद आई सरकार 3 साल मे ही गिर गई और 1980 मे फिर ईंदिराजी बहुमत से वापस आइ इस स्लोगन पर की " give me a government that works".
ऐसा कही कभी हुआ नही है .

Bhindrawale was picked and elevated by Sanjay Gandhi and Giani Zail Singh (they personally interviewed two Sikh preachers, Sanjay Gandhi liked Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale)
After 1977 (end of Emergency) congress lost in many states
In Punjab to counter Akali Dal and Jan Sangh alliance, congress used Bhindrawale and sikh orthodox preachers and groups in 1980 Punjab assembly elections, they were campaigning for Congress party
The objective was to give communal speeches and create rift between Sikhs and Hindus in Punjab thereby weakening Akali and Jan Sangh alliance (Akali core vote base were rural Sikhs and Jan Sangh core vote base were urban Punjabi Hindus)
The problem is Bhindrawale and congress govt developed many problems with each other later and Bhindrawale went his own way, Congress govt. wasted too much time despite moderate akali leaders requesting Indira Gandhi to arrest or rein in Bhindrawale
