She was the oldest so she was in the mix of her parents divorce, she loved her father very deeply and it was her mother that cheated and to her she always blamed her mother for their family getting torn apart. When a divorce happens, as messy as theirs was, the oldest sibling is always the one caught up in the mix. It's very evident that she's been psychologically affected by her mother's infidelity, in that we see her having serious commitment issues and not being able to effectively be open with giving her love away, especially after her father died. A lot of people, once they experience serious emotional trauma and disappointment, tend to close themselves off to others around them and pull up a giant wall.
