    I just miss "regular"... classic... simple conservative looks. People are so busy putting on personas with too much adornment today. It's why no one really knows who they actually are... too much jewelry, makeup, brands... just lost in "a look." I miss jeans and t-shirts, a simple pony tail and diamond studs... but I did grow up in the 90s 🤷🏽‍♀️

    Humor, comedy, truth, and wisdom all in one! This message felt like it was definitely sent from God above but delivered to us in your own unique way.
    Thank you Tony for using your abilities and talents as a force for good in the world to help empower us women. Because you are in a covenant marriage relationship with your wife, I believe it has blessed you to see and speak the truth of what you are saying as well. I hope that God may continue to bless you and yours abundantly, as you share the truth out here for others! ☺️🙏🏽❤️

    The other day I was shopping and I guess frowning as I concentrated on finding my size. A man did a “smile!” drive by. I barely looked at him as I was thinking, “what!?!” not realizing I was frowning but also hate when men ask women to smile, you smile! I later saw him again, and gave this big goofy sarcastic smile like, ‘See’! He said, “Ahh! See you smiled so hard you scared me!” Saw him again at check out. I gave a more natural smile then. But since the line was long by the time we got to the register, my smile dropped and I said, “I can’t hold it [smile] all day.” He said, I know you can’t. He later caught me in the parking lot and said, “hit me one more time”. Once again I gave him a big goofy smile. He smiled, laughed and says, “Have a good day”. Probably flirting, but definitely old enough to be my dad. Could just be southern black friendliness, but why women always told to smile? No one says that to men.

    Angel Reese has a modeling contract. So her fashion game has to be on point. She had on a dress that covered everything, but her back was out, it was sexy, conservative. Caitlin had on a Jean or Corduroy skirt with the jacket to match with some heels, it was a simple outfit. Both of them have NIL deals totaling $2 million dollars. Not bad for some college young ladies.

      Right I agree! I love to see Angel get dolled up in the way that she likes to dress. She balls out too and i hate that she gets compared to Catliyn Clark. IMO the public prefers Caitlyn cuz she’s safe and white- not cuz she’s more or less feminine. Angel is actually more feminine to me. She can dress like a baddie sometimes but I don’t think she should be demonized for expressing herself.

    I was just having this conversation with a colleague. I teach high school and I have many students who were gay in high school and then decided they were straight later. The issue is when they don’t fit what society shows them a man or woman should be, they automatically assume they are gay. I’ll admit to side eyeing my daughters when they started wearing Jordan’s and Nike sweats all the time. But I decided that was better than booty shorts and crop tops. They have their own style and will mix it up with a dress or crop top with baggy ripped jeans sometimes. I have realized they are truly feminine, mostly because they are comfortable and confident in themselves as women and in the words of my daughter “they are not dressing for or paying attention to anybody’s dusty son 😂.” At 17 and 19 they are still virgins, not obsessed with social media, not boy crazy, and love God. I have been truly blessed.

  • @LuxeGlobalLifestyle

    I get alot of attention in sweats and a hoody. But also femininity is a mindset.

  • @dahliaherrod4301
    @dahliaherrod4301 5 місяців тому +13

    I so wish more women understood the power of femininity which is wholly unique and separate to masculinity. One isn't better than the other and you don't have to be masculine to be strong and powerful. I think women are the keepers of the hearth and the emotional heartbeat of the home. If she's not good, no one in the house is but when she's great everyone's mood is lifted. It's a truly powerful position and should be respected.

    A lot of people think femininity = aesthestics. This couldn't be farther from the truth.
    They also dont know there's a difference between looking feminine and being feminine. The latter being more of an energy and is often felt by the people in your presence as safe, confident and authentic!

    Tony, if you don’t mind, can you share some wisdom regarding married men leaving their marriages (actually moving out of the home) stating, “they no longer want to be a husbands” but not proceeding with a divorce. I know there could be many reasons- finances is probably a big one but I would think that when a person is done and wants out there is nothing that can stop them. However, I’m a woman and how men function is different but curious about your perspective.

    Caitlin Clark looks like Jeff Van Gundy period, she is just excepted because she's yt; Angel Reese loves makeup, and she always has, enjoy your young fun life angel and all of the young ladies that like makeup, nails etc; Angel is a champion, Caitlin is not so why is she the face of anything? You all are putting all of your eggs in 1 basket and what if Caitlin gets injured or is a WNBA bust, now what? Celebrate all of the big names coming in, the WNBA needs a big name of every team to carry it because they need a huge boost to get that league going

    Great topic of discussion but i disagree with the Angel and Caitlyn comparison. Angel has a modeling contract and is a glamor girl- like a lot of black female athletes that came before her ie. Flo Jo, Shakari etc. and just because Caitlyn doesn’t seem to care much about that stuff, I don’t think that makes her more or less feminine. Black girls don’t have to sacrifice their girly nature for athletics and i appreciate seeing it. Caitlyn and Angel don’t need to be compared as much as they do cuz the fact that both of them are winning is amazing all by itself.

  • @nikkiwilds6598

    I'm glad you touched on this, Tony!! The WNBA is definitely hanging it's hat on Caitlyn (sp??) as the media darling. She represents the classic White Middle American aesthetic. And it should be presented that in the WNBA you can be a top athlete on the court, handle business, and then be feminine and display feminine heterosexuality off court, regardless of race. Unfortunately, I think the prominence of certain facets of hip-hop culture and fatherless homes, has been our (African American) undoing, to the point that we are almost painted as a monolith. City Girls, Sexy Redd, and their ilk (and image) aren't it.
