- Gotta love Orthogonals! And if you don't, you just didn't know what they were called. XP
In this video I catalog all the things that i thought were confusing or did completely wrong when it comes to perspective and show the answers and correct alternatives. I found it a lot easier to learn the correct way to do things after attempting with no knowledge of what the heck I was doing. Since I had questions going in, I was easily able to find the answers to these questions while watching tutorials. How do you best learn?
Here's the tutorial that made it easiest for me to understand: • Perspective Drawing - ... (and it's in bite size pieces!)

Seriously you made me draw buildings non stop for two weeks from your zen pop video and now I also have to practice perspective even though no one said I had to. I just do ok!

**Me whenever I flip the canvas and the eyes are magically all over the place**
gotta watch those canvas goblins. they'll get you like that
Flip canvas is evil. In real life peoples eyes are a bit wonky anyway, but if you flip them do they look more or less wonky?
Omg yes XD it looks good then I flip the canvas then all of a sudden it’s a Picasso painting
@@vivanecrosis It helps if you flip canvas more frequently and fixing little mistakes every time.
I would normally hate watching someone draw perspective but I'm actually excited when it's Rin
i'll take that as a compliment 💜

That just makes them horizontal or vertical right? You can’t get this two point perspective like that. Gotta click, hold shift, and click your vanishing point then erase what you don’t need

The only reasons I kind of know how to do perspectives:
- one art class we had on the subject
- these videos
i'm flattered. i hope you'll check out the tutorial I linked as well. it was so helpful for me

Thanks so much for the shout-out for my perspective series! This is such a great demonstration of how one set of vanishing points and a horizon line can yield so many different images based on the size and location of your picture planes (aka canvasses.) Great drawings and process! If you don't mind, I'd like to actually add this to the end of my playlist because this is a good live demo demonstrating everything I talked about!
I think I'm friends with your hands at this point.

Me: that cute guinea pig video doesn't matter anymore 🤣
i apologize to mr guinea pig XP
@@drawingwiffwaffles LOL 🤣
The one with two guinea pigs eating one grass?
The little suburban houses are so cute.
Also, I wish perspective wasn't so confusing.
Watching this video sent me back to my perspective class days😊 I recall if you want to make a series of squares (buildings) that get proportionally get smaller, you draw two orthographic lines meeting at a single vanishing point, then draw two parallel, perpendicular lines and draw the same ‘X’ in the middle (like you did for making the triangles). Draw another orthographic line from the center of the ‘X’ to the original vanishing point, then you draw a diagonal line from the distant corner of your square through the point where the closer perpendicular line and the new orthographic line cross, and drop a new perpendicular line from the top/bottom original orthographic line, then you do another diagonal from the newly created box and continue doing that all the way to the vanishing point. It’s a little hard to explain, but makes sense once you start drawing.
Honestly if Rin keeps up on drawing exterior/interior home design she’ll be hired for some house business 👁👄👁
The word 'EARTH' itself is made of 'ART'❤️❤️
Perspective is the one thing I've sorta avoided/been scared to try, yet this video has actually motivated me to try it soon 😊❤
Glad your video popped up in the thumbnails .. Watched so many perspective videos in the last couple of months, and none of them was even close to being as exciting as this. I mostly enjoyed listening to you think out loud while making decisions, drawing, and basically making things up. Very interesting. Thank you. This made me excited to buy me a new set of markers and just practice.
Haha my drawing doesn’t get easier it gets eRaSiEr

Honestly I can’t do anything regarding perspective 🤣 But I’ve got my sketchbook with me and maybe I can learn something!
This is a great outlook! 😄
That's the spirit!
I absolutely love watching your learning process and learning along beside you. Traditional art classes have never worked for me but watching your videos has improved my art far more than anything else
I've been binge watching as many videos from Rin to inspire me to try and think outside the box and expand my comfort zone in art, I especially need it since I'm in an IB art class in high school this year (in case you don't know they're like, advanced classes to probably prep you for college classes, and there's other ones like English and chemistry) and their art and videos have been so helpful to push me farther, so I thank you so much Rin
Wow this is SO inspiring! I’ve always been too lazy to draw like this so I think this video has been the push I needed! Absolutely love the scenes created, the world building in them is just beautiful and dare I say masterful. Keep up the great content!
I love that waffles is drawing new things, but I also love when she draws people so I guess we win either way
this is insane! i just literally just doing studies of perspectives for a project i’m doing and this video couldn’t have come at a better time!!
I love how easy going you are. Almost fearless and so creative! I am really impressed!!! I wish I could let go my seriousness while drawing a bit more.
It's so much fun to watch you while figuering out how the things are working. I always was so bad at sketching and I still am... 😪 I always need to do it "perfectly", if you know what I mean. I really would like to work on it! Thank you for the inspiration. 😘

Hi Rin!! I just wanted to say that I'm a huge fan and you truly inspired me to start drawing. I just wanted to say thanks and you're an amazing artist. Thanks for being so inspiring for me :)
A few months ago I watched this, I enjoyed it, but it went over my head. Now that I am teaching myself perspective, this content is gold.

I absolutely love your videos! And something that I've always thought was awesome is that you know when you don't know something but also put a lot of work into learning something knew. It is really reassuring :)
Yes! You make so much sense! And that last part about the whole what you take from a video when you don't know much about the subject. My head was screaming like "YES! THAT! EXACTLY THAT!" So glad to know I'm not alone haha. Thank you for making this look easier than it is and giving inspiration and enthusiasm to try and learn new things.
The treehouse reminded me of the show "Codename: Kids Next Door." I like the perspective of the treehouse one.

They are so fun and organic feeling. Your skills are amazing and it has been so inspirational to watch you expand your skills.
I shared this video with an art teacher of mine who teaches perspective drawing as part of her curriculum. Watching this video would have made that part of class SO MUCH easier to understand. Thank you for this video!

This has solved my art block problem! All week i had NOTHING to draw and zero inspiration. Thanks SO much Rin!! You’re a lifesaver! 💜
Even thought you said not a tutorial, this was more educational than most tutorials. It’s one thing to read about it and look at pictures but actually seeing you draw in several perspectives the way you did actually helped me see how it works. If that made sense lol. I haven't worked on perspective in so long and this video was SO PERFECT in refreshing my knowledge. You've made me so excited to try some of these frames in my sketchbook!

Thank you for making a follow up video on perspective. I took a deep dive into isometric perspective and yea, yours are waay more fun to watch.
I just finished a drawing using only 1 vanishing point and I already got confused about where the lines should go. Seeing someone working so seemingly effortless with 2 points and making all sketches look amazing in such a short amount of time blows my mind :D

It helps me with lighting as well because if you think about things in flat planes versus round surfaces it’s much easier to get lighting and perspective right.
