It’s frustration. Many of them have been living in the central area for generations and it’s gone from a local quiet place to a tourist trap nightmare. Add on the fact that people buy apartments there and rent them Out as an air bnb reducing the number of apartments available for long term rental while also increasing the prices way above local salaries and people are just exasperated by it. I think the water pistol episode was a way to get it in the news ( which it did). It’s definitely not a regular occurrence.

Great video! We had the same problem when we went to Parc Guell in May, walked for what felt like miles uphill and then couldn't get in! However it's a stunning city and we'll definitely go back...but book everything in advance this time! I recommend seeing some flamenco dancing. 💃
Barcelona’s locals do not have a tolerance to disrespectful obnoxious imbeciles. Simply don’t be that and they are incredibly warm and rewarding people to get to know.

Isle Of Skye turning into a giant gridlocked car park in places… the number of tourists haters is growing and growing lol

To be honest, I’d say Catalonians are hard work, a bit overly proud and dare I say, obnoxious. Barcelona as a city is decent for a one time trip but not really worth revisiting.

When I heard you were going to park gruel on the bike - I scoffed and said it all uphill- he won’t cycle that 😂 Our first trip we went to Sagrada familla- couldn’t get in… did ur hike to the park and couldn’t get in, both sold out. Then go bus back to city centre and almost got crushed, got off after 2 stops!! Still a fab city!
The #1 Restaurant in the world for 2024 was just named as one in Barcelona lol, not gonna help keep tourist numbers down... I'm going to Barcelona next summer just to east there.
Unfortunately we suffer from the idiots that can't help but be utter bellends when abroad. Book a hotel, you can easily get better deals than this one. Step away from the Ramblas for food and drinks. Been a few times to visit friends and never had a problem. Just treat people how you'd like to be treated.
That Gaudí guy doesn't sound like the best chap to be your architect. Imagine having him build your home and it isn't finished for the next 5 generations! Nah, we shouldn't be giving him so much credit

I’m from the U.K., and I’ve lived in Barcelona for 6 years. The locals don’t hate tourists but do hate the drunk vomiting morons that come over.
So why harass just plain old tourists with kids etc?
