Seems to be an ideal lead synth for my classic rock cover band. Very clear and clean layout and it looks like you can dial up different sounds really quickly.
Meow meow! That is one bad kitty! 🐈💨. I have a feeling that even though a lot of people are Behringer haters, some of the big producers are snapping these up for their studios, because they recognize the value of having some of these quirky synths around.
I know this video is going to be a good one, so I'm making this comment before I watch it in advance. I'll be watching it today while I'm working out on the treadmill (I got to get out of this chair and stop playing synths at some point :-) ). But one tip to post about, a few days back on March 31st, Behringer released the new firmware version 1.0.3 after updating the firmware there is now a "Duo Mode Note Hold" option that is also now showing in the new SYNTHTRIBE software V2.5.0. That "feature" can be turned off which I am really happy about. I'm using the Cat on a acoustic driven album that I'm trying to release this year and with the "Duo Mode Note Hold" option set to off so I can play proper fast note runs / lines / riffs without the notes sounding like the are held open from one to the other.
Envelopes on it are still kinda eh in responsiveness if you’re trying to do legato type licks but apparently the original cat had a similar feel. U can also change it to last note priority poly mode in the synth tool but u lose the duo mode which I think is pretty stupid. So u gotta change it back and forth with the tool based on what u wanna do. Still a cool synth tho...
@@ogasi1798Legato mode works now! Would mention to anyone reading that there’s an update to the synth tool that needs to be downloaded as well. I think somehow that last update effectively broke duo mode though. If I set the configuration to poly The synth starts acting less responsive. Or the notes will get stuck like the envelope is being bypasssd and play continuously. Still I’m curious why duo/poly mode isn’t working on any of the options in the synth tool. For instance I play and octave or a third and I get one sound or the other in any variation I’ve tried. Would love your input on this
What a fantastic "how to" for the CAT! Thank you SO much, Starsky Carr! The manual is useless - THIS video is what you need to learn the CAT!
This is by far the best video I've seen on this thing!
Starsky is the best as explaining well and in a simple and understandable way how a new synth is working :D

Happy to see another video on the cat

Definitely... quirky means a different approach which leads to new ideas.

we did enjoy...straight to the point
nice, finally coming in front of the camera ... good to see ya ! lol.
my mother said I've a face for radio :)
Is there a sync issue with these?
Awesome
Nice video. But.. it could have been excellent if you didn’t cut in your face so very often..I’d take a good look at the synth. 😉
I read that an update came out and it corrected the main issues of the Cat
is it true?
