- The mountains in Fukushima Prefecture offer clear dark skies for astrophotography. I joined a group of UFO enthusiasts and took some Milky Way images from near to the summit of an active volcano. This outdoor Japan adventure offered up unexpected and interesting surprises.

Great to know that you went to Fukushima, where I've never been for Astrophtography. Very detail, thanks for sharing. BR, Zune
Beautiful video.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful experience and of course your nice pictures of the milky way.
Hey Paul 2, thanks! I appreciate the kind words. And thanks for watching Astrophotography Japan! Paul 1
I am so impressed with the quality of your video footage, editing, narrating, and content. And, of course, your astrophotography skills and images you capture. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!
I really appreciate the comments / compliments! Life is for living! Thanks for watching Astrophotography Japan!
Amazing trip! 👏👏👏
Thanks again Massimo!
Hey Zune, thanks for watching. I highly recommend Azuma-Kofuji mountain for imaging. Unfortunately, I am not sure if there is any access by public transportation to the Jododaira Rest Stop area. ????
Great video and place! I also have never been there, but looks like a place I should go one day. Thank you for letting now more about it.
Let's go together! It is awesome. The skies are amazing!
Sounds great! Yes, we should do something together again, but I have no idea about skies...@@jpastroguy
Great little trip thanks for sharing. You've motivate me to take the trip maybe before the winter sets in or in the spring. I'm in Okinawa so round trip tickets are reasonable. It would be neat if we could get a group of astro photographers together and have a little star-party!
Hey John, good to hear from my Okinawa viewers! One thing I learned recently was. that offseason prices in the winter can be great deals at some destinations like Shimoda (Izu). And the skies are generally more clear and predictable then, too. This year has been terrible and unpredictable for astro. Anyhow, I am certainly game to join up sometime for a group imaging-adventure. Feel free to email me to discuss further. PAUL
Will do sounds Great!@@jpastroguy
Hi, I am good to know your channel. I also like to shooting astrophotography and sometimes go to Johdo-daira as well, from Kanagawa pref. I love that place and your video. Cant wait another episode of your channel. thanks.
Oh wow, awesome! I have only been to Azuma-kofuji once and hope to go back again someday with some DSO imaging equipment. On the next new moon in November, weather permitting, I am thinking to try some imaging from the TOP of Komuroyama in Izu. Why don`t you join me? Contact me at jpastroguy@gmail.com if you are interested! Thanks for watching Astrophotography Japan!
Very nicely done😊 if I remember correctly, isn’t this where they have a famous 20:40 annual star festival?
To be honest, I am not aware of what you reference. I assume you mean some Takabata Matsuri, but I cannot find any reference to it (in English) on the web. Thanks for watching!
