The final part of our return trip video from Quesada, Spain to Yorkshire, UK

The cost for driving our motorhome from Quesada, Spain to Ripon, UK are included at the end of this video. I didn't mention the cost of the aires which we stopped in, but they were about 50 Euros. We spent money on one meal and ate in the van the rest of the time, but we do usually eat out a lot during the holiday.
The next video will give a cost breakdown for the 90 day trip in a spreadsheet.
I will go through the costs and if you are a subscriber you will be able to get a copy of the spreadsheet from us.
We are Mick and Cath, currently working as campsite wardens in Ripon North Yorkshire, UK, but with retirement fast approaching we are planning a move to our home in Spain.
In the meantime we plan to use our 2009 Belgian built Maesss motorhome, based on a Fiat Ducato to make trips out from our base in Spain with a trip in 2025 which we hope will span a few months in Spring and summer.
The UA-cam channel was set up to help us keep and share the memories with anyone who is interested, so, if you are interested in this kind of content and may be planning a similar retirement and need to know our costs, we will be sharing our expenses and experiences as we continue our journey.
Our journey really began when we moved to Canada in 2008 for Mick to become a long haul truck driver, where we lived in our truck and spent an adventurous time delivering oversized loads all over Canada and the USA.
We also ran a Blog during that time but didn't have a Vlog due to lack of decent gear for recording in a big rig, although we do have lots of clips on Micks other UA-cam channel... / @mickflynnimages and lots of pictures on mickflynnimages.com.
We then returned to England for a while and spent four summer seasons working in the Loire Valley on a beautiful campsite, before moving back to the UK and staying for six years working on a campsite near Henlow, Bedfordshire.
In 2021 we moved up to Yorkshire to be nearer our house which had been locked up for a few years except for short weekend visits, although, as we were provided with comfortable accomodation at our current site we decided to sell up, and so began our Spanish dream with the sale of our modest house in Bradford, which allowed us to buy the small apartment in Spain.
Our next big job (which we will be documenting) is to teach Cath how to ride a bike as she has never had one, but we feel that a couple of small folding electric bikes will allow us to get out and about more to explore wherever we are.

Enjoyed the journey how long is the crossing from France to the UK ?.At Christmas 2007 and 2008 I went by coach to the Costa Brava a long and arduous journey even with an overnight stop.

I think we left at 10.30am and arrived Portsmouth around 7pm.
Arrived in Ripon at 1am
Wouldn't fancy that coach ride!

Loved watching you two in the videos. If nobody has yet mentioned it you can easily eliminate bank chargs in Spain, we did it after many years of having a Spanish account as a non resident. We opened a free "wise" account, this comes with UK & and EU accounts. It was super easy to set up direct debits for the water, electric & Spanish townhall online using the wise eu account number. Saved us a fortune in bank charges & the other admin stuff occasionally needed by the Spanish bank.

Hi Steven, thanks for the comment. We already have a Wise account, and will probably move our standing orders etc to that in the future after we get residency if the charges can't be stopped.
