thank you for that awesome compliment ,i have been playing guitar for 43 years .i have been studying jimi's style of playing a good part of those years and try to apply what i have learned ,thanks again.
You have a good feeling for playing Jimi thank you ( ça fait 50 ans. Que j j écoute Hendrix j avais 13 ans ) et que je le joue a la guitare , vous devriez faire d autres vidéos 🎸👍
Hi Angel ! Out of sight my friend!!! What's amazing to me about Jimi's playing on this song is that he is not jumping all around the neck. He stays in a fluid zone and has all the patterns , combinations , pull offs, hammer ons with a speed that creates it's on sound! Jimi seems to have an intuition about sounds that are astonishingly unique ! I'm happy for you Angel that you have dialed into Jimi's vibe so well while keeping it your own! Jimi lives on because of players like you!!!!! Best regards, Bob
And we need as many people as possible playing Jimi’s music, or it will die out. To heck with greedy Janie, a false prophetess, who obviously does not know the Holy Bible. Otherwise, she would not have cut Leon and other family members out of the inheritance. Our Lord will say to her at the judgement, “Away with you, I never knew you.” Greedy bitch. Is that the Korean in her?
Absolutely the BEST Jimi sounding kinda guy on UA-cam. You put such emotions and feelings into your playing and that doesn't come overnight. I wish you would have a teaching DVD for sale...I would buy it on the spot!!! 5 Star *****
HANDTRICKS1 Ive heard so many guitarmen tryin to create Jimis sound with Band of Gypsys but no one except you are even close. You got the feeling... Wow
@@niklasprytz6740i really have worked at trying to capture the vibe and tone of jimi for the last 46 years ,i have tried my best to keep it as pure as possible by not sitting down trying to copy other players it is something i dedicated myself to and just try to learn from him and add what ever came natural to me ,
DAMN roastin!! One of my favorite Hendrix songs of all time... and you nailed it wIth YOUR OWN SPICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got goosebumps, that's what music is all about.... THE FEEL!!!!!!!!
That was immense, Most of it around the tenth fret pentatonic. It just shows how original Jimi was, no one else could come up with an original solo like that !!!
1000wolves thank you for that compliment ,i really did feel this one here ,i know the audio quality is not there but i will be doing this over again with a better backing track now that i have much better recording gear to get it done right .
thank you abrie i appreciate the compliment ,as for the sound i can tell what i use and as far as the vibe its just something that just came with time ,i run my gt into a tech 21 trademark 10 amp and use a an original fuzz face and an original univibe pedal ,a vox wah pedal ,and a jim dunlop octavio ,, i hope that helps !!!
Hey Angel! Dov here. Just checking in and catching up on more of your otherworldly jams, rifts and grooves. Hope you're well brother, I still have my Recafuzz and when I get back to Cali and my gear I'm gonna try (once again) to figure some of this out. Band of Gypsys would be my desert island album and you are, as always, a huge inspiration! Thank you!
Absolutely awesome!!! Never leaving the Dm pentatonic ‘box’ , 1st and 2nd ‘boxes’ to be exact. It just shows what you can do with bona fide imagination! Kudos brother!!
@sandiegoled13 on the tone its no big secret i am using an old fuzz face 1970/71 and an original unicord univibe pedal ,jim dunlop octavio, vox wah pedal 847 and i run that thru a tech 21 trademark 10 amp .
You got it BRO. Not just the Hendrix inspired licks, but the sound and tone of your guitar is Hendrix all the way. I hear a lot of guys go out on that limb and their sound is thin and distant. I noticed your playing a left handed Strat, any guitar tone advice would be helpful. Good job, I'm sure Jimi, as humble as he was, would give you a thumbs up.
thank you rick i appreciate the awesome compliment and yes tone is everything ,i did this a long time ago and the recording quality was not the best but you can still make out what i did , the strat is a right handed strat i just play left handed ,i was born a lefty and refused to learn to play right handed early on .on the tone its really what your ears hear just have to keep experimenting with the tone settings till you hear what you like ....
@TheGuitarjerry1126well jery for recording at home like this i use 8-10-14-24-32-42 and for playing live i use 9-11-15-26-36-46 its to avoid breaking strings i prefer the ultra light gauge because it has such a slinky feel and so much more control of the vibratos and bends i feel it allows me more freedom of expression.hope that explains it well jerry !

Goddamn it man!!! You kick the fuckin ass out of this riff--It has been a long time favorite and you have helped me tons in terms of inspiration and teaching to play it myself. Thank you for posting.
Hendrix knew he was not happy with the band of gypsys- the BOG, Mitch and Jimi discussed bringing Noel back in and reforming the Experience, unfortunately it never eventuated
Jimi was a lost soul at the time and perhaps a tad manic depressive. I don't think he would have been entirely content in any environment at the time. Oh, and being a musical genius probably didn't contribute positively to this problem, either.
I doubt anybody could copy that song note for note or anybody would request note for note. I was waiting to hear more of that familiar base line, lead interplay. The overall Hendrix sound was apparent without question. The notes/melody were obviously good. Cohesion and rhythm make everything better. I enjoyed it for what it was.
sorry to disappoint you jonnydupe but i was in no way trying to do a note for note cover of this ,its actually more fun to play what you feel ,and you are right no one is gonna play it like jimi did for that go listen to jimi instead .
@@HANDTRICKS1 - I wasn't disappointed at all. I'm a big Jimi H. fan and you definitely captured the sound and feel. I don't look for note for note, it's not what I care about.
You Sir, are phenomenal! Such an amazing inspiration to all of us guitar players...both young and old. Your playing has such raw power and soul. I can only imagine how many years of dedication and passion went into your playing. You've taken Hendrix's soul and amplified it a thousand fold!
