- Today with the perpetuation of advertising, social media and influencer culture, the whole of society is becoming obsessively focussed on looking good. Wearing expensive clothes, perfumes, makeup, watches and jewellery is associated with having achieved success.
The result of this is that our self-esteem has become tied to our clothes and accessories instead of being tied to our character.
In this video Paramahansa Yogananda explains that clothes alone do not "make the man." There is something far more important and valuable through which we can command the respect of others.

I have the same thought and tell people that there was certainly some good in him because he seemed like the "aankhon ka tara" of many Self-Realized Masters I have read about. So, it's best to focus on the good and learn that he too was subject to duality as he wasn't Self-Realized.
