FINALLY! a clip on UA-cam that shows off the amazerizing powers of Kaiser! Although his tenor voice is not innately very remarkable, he certainly knows how to use it to interpret. When his voice matures further, he will be a true force to be reckoned with.

OMG I just fell in love with him and his voice when I saw this on TV a while ago. It's just so beautiful! My favourite aria from my favourite opera. Thanks for uploading!

I think this voice is absolutely gorgeous. I wish he would sing with vibrato on every note instead of all the straight tone singing, but I find his voice totally gorgeous.

The scar is a so-called Schmiss, from an injury recieved at fencing .
Lenskij studied in Göttingen,Germany, where he was member in a fraternity. In some/many german fraternitys there used to be (and still is) a big tradition of fencing.

hey! Lensky was the one who challenged Onegin to the duel. He brought it on himself! Onegin was haunted by this tragedy the rest of his life - he certainly did not want to kill his best friend.

I went to university with him and the first moment I heard him singing I figured he was a tenor... so ya it was pretty difficult to believe he was a baritone

Très jolie voix ! Cet air est si difficile à chanter !
    De quelle nationalité est-il ? Allemand ?

Not realy bad for a foreigner but the tempo of the aria is too slow and some notes are made artificialy long.

MokeySmitty-What is the definition of the word "Wanker" that you are so redundant and obsessed with? Gigli happened to have been arguably, the finest tenor of the twentieth century-after Caruso! Very few others compared.Have you any complaints as to the style or abilities of Jon Vickers, Giuseppi di Stefano, Jusi Bjoerling,Franco Corelli,Lauritz Melchior,or others as yet not named?

))) Well, how would the novel and the opera was written in the 19th century, in the era of romanticism, and then 20th century, as it is not something)) performance is good, but certainly not Lemeshev compare!)

Kaiser's Russian only seems bad because he didn't sob his way through the aira like a little sissy girl as would Beniamino Gigli, BeniaminoGigli. And for Christ's sake, Wobblatura; how much more forward do you need it? Must blood spew from his nose?
Kaiser may be a bit of a Wanker, but he's a damned good tenor.
