That was cool Rob, I have just retired and just about to turn my garage into a workshop and thinking of making tools as well as a Router table and a sander with timber and this Mallet will be first of my tools but I will using hard wood recovered from my roof joist , Thank you for this tip.
Thank you, Rob!
Great video for beginners!
I think I'll try to mortise the head for the handle but it will be your pattern.
Have a GREAT day, Neighbor!
OK, this is cool! Just today I was looking at getting myself a wood mallet. I like your idea of making one out of construction grade wood, since it's cheap and I have a lot of it in my shop. Thanks for the great idea! :) Greetings from Calgary, Alberta.
Thanks, Rob...& your patrons
Love it, very good presentation and execution 10/10 , u got my sub.
Thank you for sharing
I have scrap oak tongue & groove floor boards... Now I have some harder wood to make this wonderful mallet! Ya!
Love all your videos. I have some pine construction lumber scraps - will try making one. I might alter the dimensions a bit since the scraps I have are 2x4 material which means it will be 3.5" wide and not 4" as your design. I think it will still be usable but will see.
Thanks and keep sharing these very nice to-the-point videos.
Awesome work, Rob! 😃
But it's always good to have a soft wood mallet, specially for assembling projects!
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Function doesn't have to be pretty. But it's nice when it is.

Make a hand drill jig that's as precise as your drill press
about that
you can probably do better by sticking a cell phone holder on top of your drill and using your cell phone's electronic level simpler more precise
