I agree with you about Scott. I think he's some times overlooked/taken for granted because he's been so consistant from the very beginning. He's also very versatile in terms of styles of music he can sing. It's kinda the gift and the curse of being a baritone - you are versatile and probably gets the most lead parts because the baritone is what most music is build around - but you'll be "overlooked" in favor of the "ekstremes" - Avi's bass or Mitch' high tenor. (nothing against either - they're both fantastic and deserve every ounce of attention they get for their voices). But back to Scott - his range is absolutely insane. I think it's about 4 octaves (not counting his growl notes or his highest falsetto notes). Just in one of the songs of the new EP he hits a c2 a couple of times, which is so crazy to me.
In case nobody has mentioned it--yes, Kevin is beatboxing and whispering "One less problem without you" AT THE SAME TIME. When he does it live, the "s" of "less" doesn't come through. But the words are clear AND the beatboxing continues. Live. In concert.
For real though no matter how many times I listen to their videos I always hear something I didn't before. Like different sounds Kevin will make behind the solos and harmony. It's crazy
Oh, another recommendation...Scott and Shoshana Bean singing her song “All To Me”! Simple piano accompaniment with a four-voice backup group! It’s sooo beautiful! Avi sings overtone whistle notes!
I absolutely agree about Scott, he's incredibly versatile and his range is amazing. I feel like a lot of reactors often fail to appreciate him so I really enjoyed your reaction! It seems like you're only doing music reactions right now but if you're ever interested in getting to know the members of Pentatonix more, you should definitely react to PTXperience episodes. They're documentary-style videos that give us some behind the scenes of their tour concerts. If you're interested I'd recommend the 2019 World Tour ones!
Oh Scott!😍 YES! PLEASE REACT TO Lose Us by Rozzi ft. Scott Hoying. ALSO Lost On You (with Hans Zimmer soundtrack) sung by Scott and Mario Jose. BUT DEFINITELY MORE PTX!!👏😁
This is my first PTX reaction from you, and I am loving the detailed musical observations! Kevin's KOvers are just amazing. Personally my favorite is Down, then Sign of the Times & Friends.
This Problem cover came out in 2014, the same year PTX released their landmark Christmas album, "That's Christmas To Me", which was the 4th highest selling album of the year (surpassed only by Taylor Swift, the Frozen soundtrack and Sam Smith). The album was eventually certified double platinum.
Did you ever see their Dancing On My Own cover, their first song without Avi?? I'd be interested in seeing a reaction to that if you haven't. You also really need to see b Kevin's covers of Down and Sign of the Times
There's a great live version of this from a Dutch radio show. Sassy Mitch is fave Mitch. He raps so beautifully. Have you seen Sup3rfruit's cover of Feeling Myself? It's **chef's kiss**.
Kevin's lowest notes are actually much higher than what he does in this song or as you mentioned in love again. These low notes are an advanced beatboxing technique. I didn't remember the name of this technique but it is very difficult to do it right. If you don't do it in the correct way, it is very harmful to the throat. So the fact that he can do it that much is just amazing.
Yes, id love to see your thoughts on the KO stuff- he constantly blows my mind. You may have seen it but Id also suggest the Voctave disney love medley with Kirstin and Jeremy Michael Lewis. Its one of my favorites just because Kate Lott is insane through the whole thing. Loving your reactions and insight!
Hi Courtney. I have seen that one several times and I love it and yes, Kate Lott is insanely talented. But I'm open to other Voctave numbers. I've seen: Great Music Medley, Disney Showstoppers, Disney Princesses, Oh Come All Ye Faithful, Mary, Did you Know, the Notre Dame one, Grinch, The Impossible Dream and Let There Be Peace on Earth. Thanks for watching.
✌😁 Since you like ACAPELLA groups PLEASE ADD to your list these 2 groups co-founded by Scott Hoying: 👉All female Acapella group "Citizen Queen" they have an AMAZING bass and beatboxer! 👋JUST PLEASE watch these videos till the END so you'll know the girls names! I found your comments very perceptive and I have to agree: their talent goes way past the singing. The arrangements and moving harmonies speak of great musicianship all around.
My bad. I love Mitch's voice. I do mention him in my "Attention" reaction. He's amazing in "Hallelujah" and "Bohemian Rhapsody." I'll try to call out his awesome abilities more. :-) Thanks for watching!
@@SingerDadReacts I don't know what B W means, but the first time I heard you I wanted to just listen to your speaking voice. "NPR" is a good way of describing what I heard in your voice. Very "cultured."
Are you sure you'll have the time to be back? There has to be millions of other things you "can't bare to listen to" out there. It must be exhausting finding new reactions to all the things you can't bare, and then take the time to tell us all how you can't stand them. Fascinating.
Scott's range is insane

Lose Us with Scott and a friend, Rozzi. Collaboration, original song. Amazing
You're the second to make that recommendation. Definitely adding it to the list. Thanks.

You should react to pentatonix can you feel the love tonight. It's amazing and you will really enjoy all harmonies they do
Those moving block chords are very tough to execute. Avi does kicking overtone singing, too.
He kills it every time and sadly it doesn’t always get noticed
Nice reaction. Thanks
Nice react!!! You are amazing!! Please react to Home Free - Try everything... is a good song... the first song with Chance
Hard to suggest since I don't know what you've seen - La La Latch, Can't Hold Us, Royals or Rather Be from their old stuff? Hey from Chicago!
What about live versions Cracked and Natural Disaster

This is the first time I've heard the Trio's interwoven vocals described as "moving harmonies".
He loves Avi, Scott, Kevin, Mitch and what does he say about the only woman in the group "she looks good". Oh so bad.
New sub here. So right about their moving harmonies. If you haven't gotten to Attention (Charlie Puth cover), pls check it out. 👍
