- Finally an update to the old Data East warhorse from 1994. Really immersive game with lots to shoot for. I had to "cut" in the start sequence from a game after the machine has been idle for a while or you miss the fantastic spotlight and camera flashes. As always from JJ solid build quality, fantastic light show and sounds although it is rather multiball heavy and features the band from the "not in this lifetime" tour so its got chunky Axel and band members like Melissa!!??!! Not really Guns N' Roses is it!! Another annoyance is that you have to qualify for songs! Lovely machine but if I had to choose from the 2 it would have to be my Data East (only with Pinsound mind) as at least I have a chance of completing it!!

Tatty coming in big yet again with another great vid! A buddy of mine is putting his for sale and I was considering buying it. But after watching this video, it is a beautiful machine, but the gameplay is not my jam. I think I'd rather play a Heavy Metal Meltdown. Tatty, if you have not played a heavy metal meltdown, you are missing out. Now that is an earned multiball!
Do you know, I never have played (or even set eyes) on a HMM and I don't think I have the head room for the topper! My Data East GnR (with Pinsound) beats the JJ offering IMO, well lets put it this way, teh DE one is still here :-)
I just played this game at a Arcade the other day ! Its definitely one of the top 10 machines i have played.....

Game code really lets the machine down. Constant stacking multi balls did my head in. I dumped mine after 2 months of owning it.
Yep, 100% agree with you, defo wouldn't kick the Data East one out over it!
I have a chance to pick an LE up for $7k - HUO with the topper and some other mods. Just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on it.

@@tattyadams not just the pinsound, but the whole aspect of the machine, way superior.
@@JohnSmith-bn7bl absolutely, that's why my DE is still here and the JJ isn't. A guy buying a machine was round last week (who owns a JJ GnR) and asked to play my DE one, he was shocked how good it was!
@@tattyadams my friend has the DE GnR , i played 2 games on it, and i was hooked., love it... lots of shots, super layout. widebody. Data East produced some great pins, Last Action Hero, The Who, Jurassic Park, Star Wars. Great licences. Love me some Data East !.
