- Breaking in our new YZ 85 while riding with my son on his YZ 65. Our family just picked up this new YZ85 and both my son and I will switch off riding each other’s bike. We will show you how to change breaking in oil and add new oil, we ended up filing a spark plug on the YZ 65 and change that as well. overall, it was a great day for father and son to get some quality time in writing together. #yz #yamaha #motorbike #yz85 #yz65 #dirtbike #motocross #motorcycle #new #yzfamily #yamahamotorbike
Love this video it’s awesome!! I love the content with the 85 and 65 together! You both look Awsome on the bikes especially when you swapped bikes! He was ripping that 85!!!👌😎👍
Thank you! We're having a blast riding the bikes together! 👍🏻😎 It was pretty cool to watch him ride that 85!
@ yea it was!!👍
Dude I love watching you hang out riding bikes with your boys! I truely one day hope my (almost 2 year old) daughter wants to pick it up cuz she will definitely have her pick of the litter just like ur boys! Love it man keep riding, and keep teaching those boys how to be young men! Rock on! 🤘
Thank you for the kind words! It's awesome to hear your daughter might pick up riding, that's what it's all about! 👍🏻😎
As always loved the video, can not beet the time out and about with the kids and again so jealous of the fun U guys always have, keep up the good work keep loving life together lov U guys
It’s to bad we’re not neighbors! Thank you so much for your comment and encouragement! We are blown away with your kindness 😃😃😃👍🏻
@@BensOutdoorBoys haha yes it really is as I would love to be your neighbour I think all our families would love eachother, we are so similar it's unreal,
IV recently stripped, cleaned and put back together the old 49cc mini dirt bike and sat my one year old on it Thursday just gone as he keeps running to it when he sees it and just thought I will give it a go see how he does I started it up first time he ran away crying so calmed him back down gave him 5 mins then sat him on it with me and started it up and he absolutely loved it now I can't keep him away from it so just waiting to be able to take him out on it for a bit now see how he does on a little test ride,
And I will always like and support U guys as much as possible hope U guys never stop making all these videos me and my kids love watching them, wishing U guys healthy and happiness always
@CraigCrofts Super cool 😎 Your son will be hooked for life now! Love it 🤩 Now when you come home from work hill be sitting on it and ready to go! We are living our best days right now! ❤️😎👍🏻
I've followed the owners manual break in to the letter on my '24 yz85. It had me do 3 heat cycles then pop the head and cylinder to check the piston. I did all that but have one heat cycle to go then the manual says to drain the oil.
I like the way you are doing it though. I'm hoping I'm doing things right.
Thanks for taking us along while you and your son break your bikes in.
Thanks 👍🏻
Definitely following the owners manual is the best way for sure 👍🏻
Thank you very much for your comment and how you do things 😃👍🏻😎
So cool. My boy is 2 can’t wait till he can ride
Thanks, man! You are going to love it!! I wake up everyday and can’t believe how much fun this has been ❤️✊🏻👍🏻
@ I bet , I mean he rides around with me now but can’t wait till he can on his own! When did your boys pick it up?
@truckerrae Your an excellent dad! That’s exactly what I did with my boys 😃 get them on your bike with you as soon as possible ❤️
Michael was all about bikes at age 2. He was obsessed with his balance bike and at 4 we put him on a Stacyc E12.
Wyatt is different, he loves riding with me or behind Michael on the ATV. I’m guessing he’s Just a little bit more timid than Michael but it’s the best when we are all out riding together. 😁🙏🏻
Awesome video Ben definitely agree with you with the smaller bike is so much more fun for your son because he is so much trying to keep up etc to a bigger bike lol . Keep up the amazing content Ben
Thank you for the kind words! It’s great to hear you agree about the smaller bikes! 😎
Just in the week of switching back to a smaller bike. Michael has improved immensely. It was definitely a great move. Thank you so much for watching and your support ✊🏻✊🏻👍🏻😎
This is so cool❤ I hope you guys are doing well❤
Thank you! We are doing awesome and thoroughly enjoying riding together as a family! ✊🏻✊🏻👍🏻😎
Love it Bud!! Quality Time with the Kiddo 🤙🏼
It's the best kind of quality time! 😎🤘
Awesome!❤
The new bike is awesome 😎 Michael loves riding the 65 with the new 85! ❤️✊🏻👍🏻
This is awesome. When I rebuilt my kx85 top end I broke it in on a back road and ended up braking off the master link😂
Haha that's a good one! I hope you replaced the master link! 😄
What year is your kx85? My buddy had a kx100 and he was absolutely amazing on it! ✊🏻✊🏻👍🏻😎
@ yeah😂
@ 2007 but the motor has been shipped of and rebuilt by the guy a bought it from. He regrets selling it know after I put knew plastic on it lol
I love watching your videos
Thank you so much!! We are going to buy some E- ride mini’s and compare them with our gas bikes also we are going to start building a track 👍🏻😎 stay tuned ❤️
@ sweet
Definitely want to be like you once I’m a dad
It’s the best!! You have your best friends around you all the time and they look up to you 😃🤠💪🏻✊🏻👍🏻😎
Another awesome video!
Thank you again! We are loving the YZ85 ❤️ We are going to break ground on our track next week 👍🏻😎 videos to come 💪🏻😎
@ so hyped on that I was gonna suggest you build one such a good idea!
Hi I'm from 🇫🇮 and we have Christmas now. I like yours Vlogs.❤😊 we Have Snow on the Ground❄️.what season do you have?
Happy holidays and Merry Christmas!!
Christmas is 18 days away for us and are season right now is winter. Next week they are saying it might get cold and give us snow ❄️ ❤️👍🏻
Thank you for your comment and sharing all that info 😃👍🏻
Let yout son ride the 85 😅[I'm a big fan of you guys]
Thanks man! He got to ride the YZ85 on this video and loved it!! 👍🏻💪🏻😎
@BensOutdoorBoys oh yea baby
Hello love the video, fouling sparkplugs may cause rich gas-oil ratio, look in the users manual as recomended or use 40:1 its ideal not to much smoke not so littlr hope this helps
Thanks for the info and the tip!
We just picked up a full synthetic oil and we’re gonna try the 40 - 1 ratio. Thank you again and have a wonderful rest of your weekend 😎👍🏻😎
Love it
@@JordanX-m3r Thank you!!! ❤️💪🏻👍🏻✊🏻😎
He looks so smooth on that 65.. your mic kinda cut out when you said your weight?? That would be helpful when looking for a 85😆😆 great video guys
🤣🤣🤣 I cut that out because I’m fat 🤣 195 🤪
I get some pumped when y’all post a vid
Your comment made our evening!! Thank you so much for your comment and most of all your support ❤️😃👍🏻 hope you have a wonderful rest of your weekend 😁😁
Nice video Ben.
Thank you so much! 😃😎
I really wanna see a honda CRF 150R. I trust you guys and I cant decide about it!! Please check it out!
CRF 150R is an excellent woods, trail and not as temperamental as the Yz. And it will ride on a MX track. It’s definitely a little heavier than YZ85.
YZ85 is lighter and is a blast to ride on a MX track! They are temperamental but once you get them dialed they are a blast to ride. 😃👍🏻😎
The reason why you found plugs is because you’re never on the pipe when he hears the bike pop shift up he just hast to get used to the power bed. My dad is a mechanic and he told me why that happens because you have to be in a pipe. I love your videos to.have him jump on the 85
Thanks for the feedback, it is definitely something to work on! I would love to have him jump on the 85, maybe next year! 😎 or sooner! 🤩💪🏻
It was a best choice to get this 85 as well, your older son will get it soon 😉
Thank, man! Really appreciate the comment and support 👍🏻😎💪🏻
Nice video
Thank you so much! We are having a blast breaking in these new bikes.
Honestly i think the gopro is better for the shots while riding but the insta 360 is alot better for stationary shots. When yall did the hill climb video on the 110s it actually looked step which i was really surprised about.
Totally agree, we love the GoPro. I almost need, like several of them to get different shots. To get better quality videos.
Insta360, editing app is awesome but the video quality is ok… but I love how that camera gets me any shot or direction that I want to see.
It’s definitely a work in progress 👍🏻
Thank you so much for your comment and coming back and watching another video! Thank you agin for your support ✊🏻😎👍🏻
yo dude love the vids and i might know whats fouling the plugs so much! for 2 strokes you cant let them idle as much like a 4 stroke. so with a 2 stroke you always wanna give it some revs and make sure to keep revs up! if the revs are low chop it down a gear or 2 works good as:) hope i was any help!
Thanks man! Really appreciate your tip 👍🏻 the two strikes have definitely been a challenge 😬🤪
The reason why you found plugs is because you’re never on the pipe when he hears the bike pop shift up he just hast to get used to the power bed. My dad is a mechanic and he told me why that happens because you have to be in a pipe. I love your videos to.
You’re right, he is still learning the power band on the new bike. Thanks for the advice and the tip 🤩👍🏻😎
if you keep killing plugs. Try every so often if not riding on song pull the clutch in and rev it a few times (clear it out) will save plugs.
Thanks for the tip! ✊🏻✊🏻👍🏻
I have two boys, 4 and 6 years old. Both are on PW-50s and loving it. I'm riding a Buscadero pit bike (which are awesome). People think I'm absolutely nuts for having the boys on dirtbikes - I have them armored up and we just rip around the property. For the most part I let them figure out how much they can push the bike by themselves. Clearly I'm not super risk averse. But I have to ask - what is your view on risk? You and your son are much more accomplished than our family - I've never done a wheelie or jumps. You don't seem to hesitate at all about letting your son do a jump across the driveway. I feel like I'd be $hitting a brick. Are there things that you are pulling back on the reins with your son when it comes to doing dangerous stuff? Hearing you cheer your son on during you little race to go faster had me both pumped and also a little scared! Makes me wonder if I should be more open to pushing them a little. Love the channel, would appreciate your feedback.
First I just want to say that you are an excellent dad and your sons are so very lucky to have you!! 👍🏻😎
My view on risk.. that’s a great question.
I think that goes back to when I was a kid. My dad would pull us with his truck up the driveway as we were all on pedal bikes 😃 I was running chainsaws at 7 and operating a D4 cat and the farm tractor. My dad was always allowing me to try new things at an early age. I’m guessing that’s were I get it from 😆
I really think it was the way I was raised and I’m just doing the same with my boys. I don’t have to worry about this with Wyatt but with Michael he will see me do something on the dirt bike and he immediately thinks he can do it as well. Lucky for us he listens really well and I go over how to do it and what not.
As a dad, it’s are job to keep our kids safe as possible but also allow them to make mistakes and learn from them.
Thank you so much for your support and watching our channel. Our channel will always be family friendly 🙏🏻❤️✊🏻🎉
@@BensOutdoorBoys Thanks for the response. Our kids need to know dopamine outside a screen exists!
@Qwerty8139 Totally 💯 agree 👍🏻.
We are buying Wyatt a PW50 for his birthday next week. I hope it’s a good fit for him. Do you guys have any trouble with your PW’s?
@@BensOutdoorBoys - They are a pain in the ass to kick start initially. Once they are going and warm the boys can kickstart it themselves. If you take the throttle stop out, it'll go 30+ pretty easily with a 6 year old. Ask me how I know - my youngest did so on the first day!
That’s awesome! We had a TTR50 for him, but it just doesn’t quite fit him yet. So we sold that and when we picked up this last motorcycle, he sat on the PW and wanted it!
if the plugs get fouled out that easy it means it could be running to rich try to adjust it and lean it out a bit
@@koltonmoore8081 I ended up doing a FMF and a JD jetting kit and it’s definitely running better. From the factory it was definitely way way to rich. Thank you for your comment 👍🏻😎
@ heck yea man!! fmfs are the best love your guys channel!
@koltonmoore8081 Thank you so much for your support and that awesome comment ❤️🤘🏻👍🏻😎
@ your very welcome guys and thank you so much!😁🤘🏼
@ Thank you!!
Br8e plug that’s the best plug for two smokers
Thank you for the tip! I’m willing to try anything at this point 👍🏻😎
The spark plug might be failing because the oil ratio could be to rich. I recommend to do 40:1
Thanks! Would you change the pilot or the main? 👍🏻 Or by just changing the oil ratio will do the trick? Thanks for your help! ✊🏻😎👍🏻
Since those bikes are race bikes their meant to be ride hard and not for putting around and I race a yz85 2023 big wheel and ride it super hard and haven’t fouled a plug since I got it
That’s good to know. We definitely need to step it up. We are going to run 40.1 with full synthetic and hope that helps as well.
That’s awesome that your riding YZ85 BW those bikes look awesome 😎
Little man is ripping
Thanks 😃💪🏻
He sure loves speed 🤣 ✊🏻✊🏻
The kid is ripping !
From an early age he’s always loved speed 💪🏻👍🏻😎
Put a br8eg plug in it I run that in my 125
Thank you!!! Will definitely try that out 👍🏻😎
Hi
Howdy 🤠 Thank you for stopping in and watching on Saturday 👍🏻😎
is the yz 65 new cus i remember you buying the 125 and 85 i think
@@spamtong.spamton1825 we bought the 65 and 125 at the same time and we just picked up the 85. My son was just bummed that the bikes sizes were so different. So now we ride the 65 and 85 together and let me tell you! That 85 is fast and super fun to ride! Love it ❤️🤘🏻😎👍🏻
@@BensOutdoorBoys that is very sickkk
Thank you!!!!! 🤘🏻✊🏻😎
The spark plug files out because its to much oil in it, mix it in a one gallon jug 40-1
We just switched are oil to synthetic oil and we’re doing 40 to 1 now! On the YZ125 we also did a FMF and JD jetting kit. So far so good 🎉🎉😎👍🏻
Thank you for your comment 😎👍🏻
@ i got a 2024 yz85 for my bday and my brother got into a reck on it
@ is there anyway we can meet up to ride together?
@Oneway-x5j That’s awful 😢 I hope your brothers ok and how’s your bike? 🙏🏻
@@BensOutdoorBoysit just had a few scratches
You guys should give gas before shutting the bike of it clears the oil out of the piston and it fires up better also let your son give more gas or get a lower gear this way you arent so low in rpm
Thank you for the tip’s! We really appreciate it 👍🏻✊🏻😎
They set the carbs up way too rich…. I have a 2022 LW Yz 85 did the same thing I went 2 steps down on the needle with a 145 main helped a lot but I might go 1 step back up on the needle still not right
Good to know, thanks for the tip! I’ll try that out. 💪🏻😎
If he is fouling the plugs, he is coasting to much
Also if oil is spewing out of the silencer you are also coasting
Thanks for the tip! He definitely has oil coming out the tip of the exhaust. We are going to try run 40.1 with full synthetic. Hopefully that will help 👍🏻😎
Run 32-1 I haven’t fouled a plug yet on my 2024 yz 125
What oil are you using? We are installing an FMF pipe and silencer with a JD jetting kit. They recommend 40 to 1 full synthetic oil. We hope this works and
Fixes our problem! Thanks 💪🏻👍🏻😎
@ my 125 is completely stock right now I run yamalube and I use 93 octane at the pump and I mix the oil and gas at 32-1
@jakeslope3767 That’s awesome 😎 we’ve had nothing but trouble with ours.
Mabye try running the 65 a bit leaner
Would you change the pilot or the main?
You should’ve bought the yz 125x it’s better for trails. The YZ125X has a wide-ratio six-speed transmission tuned for easier riding on tighter terrain. My cousin has one and it’s awesome and u don’t have to keep high rpm’s he’s never had to replace a spark plug you don’t have to rev it up like the regular yz 125. I’ve been riding since I was 5 years old had a crf 50. You keep fouling plugs cause y’all aint keeping high rpm’s gotta rev it buddy. The yz 125x is where it’s at and it also sits about a half inch lower the the motocross yz 125. The yz 125x comes with a kickstand and the suspension is also set up for trail riding it’s just an all around great bike for trail riding. I’ve had a lot of dirtbikes and racing four wheelers. The yz 125x has lower compression head and different ecu tuning.
Dang it, I should have talked to you before I bought it! I hope this JD Jetting kit helps the bike. Thanks for your in-depth comment!
I got a 2023 yz 125x and I absolutely love it very suprised with low and mid power and doesn’t feel like it’s lacking top end power at all bike rip tons of fun for off-road jumps hill climbs and single track
Dang! Sounds like I should have gotten that YZ125X for sure 👍🏻 been watching videos about them and they are awesome sounding! Almost no one complains about jetting with 125X. Thanks for your comment and have a killer weekend 👍🏻😎
The yz125x does not have a wide ratio gear box the yz250x does
It’s not much of a difference in the transmission and no you don’t have to always rev the 125R model like you say. Maybe own one before making comments on a bike you don’t own. The two bikes are about as identical as you can get besides the slight gears differences and slightly softer shocks otherwise same bike and same engine.
The reason why it keeps following spark plugs you have to be on the pipe
This is true but if your bike won’t run for 2 minutes there is definitely a problem. I could hold the throttle wide open turn the bike around and go to give it gas, and it just followed the plug. Now that we have the jetting corrected it hasn’t fouled one sense..
I remember doing my Banshee and just installed pipes, silencers and pro flow air filter. The first time I fired it up the pipes glowed red right by the headers. Bike was to lean and then I went to fat and the bike foul plugs within just a couple minutes. Once you get these two strokes dialed they are absolutely amazing and fun to ride 🤘🏻👍🏻😎
32:1 should only be ran on a motocross/professional level or you will continue to foul the plugs. Run them at 40:1 and you’ll be better off. Also learning over the years and speaking with multiple companies and pro level mechanics I’ve found that a heavier oil mix makes the bike run leaner. More oil means less fuel which is actually a leaner condition. So run 40:1 unless you’re actually running the bikes hard enough to grant running 32:1. (32:1 came from pro level 125 riders needing the extra oil blend because of the bikes living on the pipe during entire races) hope this helps! And glad u switched over to castor927 I also like klotz super techniplate. Love the content keep it up!
Thank you very much for all the detailed information! This helps us out and everyone else that would read this! The YZ 125 definitely likes the changes and hasn’t fouled a plug since 😎👍🏻✊🏻
Lmao 32:1 should only be ran by pros? WTF your an idiot dude it’s not what you say it is don’t be an idiot.
I am pretty sure the 65 goes 90 kph and the 85 goes 110kph
I think you’re right. We tied a speed test in the 65 but the app I was using was being very glitchy. 👍🏻
@ 👍
the reason your spark plug s failing is because you put too much oil in your oil to fuel ratio
Thanks for the tip. We are going to a 40-1 ratio with a full synthetic oil.
On the yz85 I was thinking about going to a bigger main because it will be packing me the most. Do you think that’s a good idea? Thanks 👍🏻
Fowling pugs by runny to slow
Definitely at first that was the problem but now after we did the FMF and the JD jetting kit it hasn’t fouled a plug sense 👌🏻👍🏻 thank goodness 😅
If you don’t mind me asking how much money do you get per views is it like 500 views is one dollar or something else
Great question 👍🏻
so right now this video has 6700 views and it’s paid us $28 dollars. CPI is all over the place. The more subscribers you have the higher the CPI goes up resulting in making more money per 1000 views.
On a video longer than 8 mins you only get paid for every 1,000 views.
Short videos you get paid on every view but it’s like a penny or less.
Hope that helps and ask any questions and will try to answer them. 👍🏻😎
fouling plugs dude its a 2 stroke engine you have to get in the powerband its not made to lug
@@MotoGage_100 You’re definitely correct 👍🏻
@@BensOutdoorBoys i have done the same on my husqvarna tc 250 many times, i bought the wrong bike for in the woods
When I bought the YZ125 it literally didn’t run. I took it back to the dealer and they said that the jetting was all messed up. I brought it back home and it didn’t go a mile before fouling another plug. I didn’t ride it for a month until I had enough money to put an FMF and JD jetting kit on it. I haven’t fouled a plug yet 👍🏻😎 nock on wood 🙏🏻
@@BensOutdoorBoys thats good you haven’t fouled a plug but run it wide open most the time or you will and if you want to lug put a new fly wheel weight on it, but if I were you get a 250 four stroke thats what I did but 450
Get a you yz 250
I would love to get a YZ250 for sure 👍🏻 that would be sick 🤘🏻👍🏻
Why not take the bikes to the track
We are planning , on it this spring 👍🏻 We have a track that’s built just 10 miles from our house and they are fighting the county on a couple permits, but should be open this spring. PIR is the next closest track and they are closed till spring. We are actually going to start building our own track. Tuesday the weather is supposed to be nice and will start plowing the ground. We are going to do a video of it and ask you guys for input on the build 👍🏻😎
@@BensOutdoorBoysoh that’s Awsome! I’m so excited for this! My closet track has been doing very well, they are now
Closed until spring, they also had to Fight the town and the people for permits! I have my own little private track as well, so I’m very excited to see how yours comes out and try to pick up some new ideas and help you build yours!😎👍
