I lie. I cheat. I steal. That is the famous catchphrase from the beloved late great, Eddie Guerrero. Watching Eddie trick the referee into thinking his opponent used a weapon was the greatest thing to watch. Aside from his great career in the ring, Eddie also made a huge impact in the Hispanic culture. People had a hero they looked up to when watching wrestling. The kids adored him for his antics, the men wanted to be him and the women loved him.
Personally, growing up, he was up there as my favorites with John Cena and Kurt Angle. Eddie Guererro had a successful career in the company in terms of championship victories. He was a tag team champ, the united states champ, and most importantly, the WWE champion. You all know his great victory against Brock Lesnar at No Way Out in 2004. Ultimately, Guerrero embodied the WWE. And that’s why no one was ready for November 13th, 2005, which is one of the darkest days in wrestling history. Chavo Guerrero found him in his hotel room laying down unconsciously.
He was rushed to the hospital but it was too late. He had a heart failure and passed away. So many fans, friends and family members were deeply affected by this loss. It was unexpected and not only did WWE lose a great talent, but the world lost a great and pure soul. Today, we are going to go back in time and change history. We are going to see what would happen if Eddie Guerrero never passed away. Let’s jump into that alternate timeline in November 2005.

When I think of Eddie as a trainer in the PC, I just imagine a really happy Sasha getting lessons from her hero. RIP Eddie. You are SORELY missed.

It’s crazy because the last match I remember Eddie being in was against JBL and he was bloodied as f*ck(2004 WWE) and I remember he picked up a chair he slam it right on eddies head, I was like holy shit when the camera man went to view Eddie after getting hit he was good though but the blood look crazy. Eddie was in some great storylines Radicals, Latino heat, lie cheat and steal, WWE Championship .

I remember getting to school that Monday morning ran to the Library, got on the computer and seen the news. I was in high school and I called my mom to come get me from school and she did. My friends were picking on me because I still watched wrestling and was crying but I didn’t care. He was/is in my top 5 favorite wrestler of all time.

Same here man, it was so shocking and heartbreaking, i was in 5th grade at that time, and in India, wwe was telecasted two weeks late than US, I didn't use internet much in those times, so when raw started, and first thing they show is Eddie Guerrero's pic with 1967-2005 written on it, I didn't know what was happening, i thought he was on SmackDown last week, he had a match with Mr Kennedy, he was fine, and i thought that maybe it was his birthday, and they are celebrating by showing his older clips,( i was so naive back then) but then i noticed that why would this be on Raw, coz he was SmackDown superstar back then, then i saw everyone standing in the stage with genuine real tears in their eyes, and then they announced it, it was so sad and heartbreaking, i only started watching wwe regularly in 2003, and in that short time, Eddie became one of my favourite wrestler, tears came into my eyes when i watched Rey Mysterio and Chris Benoit talk about him and not able to control their tears.
I was in High school too. 9th grade. I got to school that morning and my friend told me, "Did you hear that Eddie Guerrero died?" I was so surprised and was just like, nooo. He's my favorite! Man, do I miss him!
I knew that Sunday night. My dad was talking to my uncle on the phone and he told my dad he just heard it on the radio and my dad then told my brother and me.
Since we recommending ideas. What if
- Nexus won at Summerslam.
- Randy main event push in 04.
- Edge didn't retire(one last year).
- Bryan never retired.
- Kevin Owens won the feud with Cena back in '15.
- Matt Hardy won the feud with Edge back in '05.

I remember Cena vs Owens in 2015 being colossal. Owens losing snowballed into a mediocre heel run. If WWE had more faith with Owens, he would've had an undefeated streak - winning the IC title - and eventually losing it to a face Miz in 2016. I don't see him winning the world title that early though. Owens' lack of starpower was exposed by Goldberg.

When Eddie passed away a part of me died with him, I'd find comfort that in some universe he would have the best time of his life but I'm also comfortable with Eddie watching this and pretty sure he would be smiling a whole lot with what you did.
It may not seem to mean as much from a comment but to everyone whose childhood was touched by Eddie, you filled that gap he left when he left this world, more power to you dude. Miss you a lot Eddie!

If Eddie was still alive, just imagine some of the matches we might/could have gotten. Punk vs Eddie, Bryan vs Eddie, 08 heel Jericho vs Eddie, and obviously Perc Angle vs Eddie. Just imagine if he got pissed and went to TNA or something. And then if Eddie doesn’t pass, does the Benoit tragedy even happen? Does WWE ever go PG? Why knows? But it’s super interesting to think about.

The WWE roster would not have fallen apart bcuz if Kurt Angle stayed, he would have continued to be a top player, and he would've helped to build new superstars, and John Cena would not have monopolized the main event scene, and killed the mid card and tag team division. They would have had more room to grow.
The original plan was actually for Batista vs Randy to be the WM main event. Randy would win RR, Batista would complete his one year reign carrying the title into WM. After he got injured, they decided to do Angle vs Orton when Angle won the title. But they needed someone to honor Eddie, and since Batista is injured they used Rey. That’s why he won the RR making it a triple threat.
It’s just sad because all we can say is what if? Still can’t believe Eddie is gone, the dream matches he could of had. Him and Lesnar would have had a great storyline. I cried so much that day when I found out about his passing, it was crazy because as a fan you don’t expect something like this and so soon. But just have to be thankful and glad that we got to witness one of the 🐐 Eddie performances could never be duplicated. The lie cheat and steal gimmick was golden, I bet Vince didn’t think it would work🤔

First video I watched from Pllana. Good stuff. The imaginative Cena-Orton-HHH-Eddie Wrestlemania match is actually perfect in a way Eddie' balances the over-serious dynamic. And I could definitely see Eddie returning and winning the Rumble in 2012 (instead of del Rio) and face Punk.

I almost wanted to cry clicking on this. I wasn't the hugest Eddie fan but for some reason his death hit me harder than any other wrestler. I dreamed of him many times after. I even felt like I saw him in my mirror. Don't know what it was. I miss him always...
if only all this could have been reality.....this would have all been amazing to see unfold with Eddie, he was by far my favorite superstar at that time. WWE has not been the same at all since he and Chris both passed away...
i agree. it really has not been the same, since chris benoit and eddie died, from 11-21-05 to 6-24-07 really was the beginning of the end of wrestling, while 2006 was still good year for smackdown, a good rather than great year for raw, its was still was still pretty good fun year, ecw came back in that year, wwe ecw started off pretty good, until chris benoit passed away. 2007 started off so good, until vengeance night of champions pay per view, 6/24/07, the day that professional wrestling has changed forever, chris benoit was supposed to be booked compete against cm punk for the vacant ecw championship, he was supposed to defeat cm punk to win the vacant ecw world championship, but sadly it, never happen, and was replaced by johnny nitro, nitro defeated cm punk by pinfall, that point in time that the pay per view event that professional wrestling was no longer the same, wrestling was no longer the same, due to chris benoit death. since benoit death, wrestling has not been the same long long time.
Actually if Chris Benoit was still around he’d be ECW Champion and the brand would still be around.
But he didn’t kill his family only himself so he wouldn’t be around anyways.

I like this concept but I would've preferred Guerrero and Benoit to have retired sometime before the PG era. Guerrero could've took time off to recover and spend more time with family and Benoit could've opened his wrestling school and spent more time with his family as well, and then the two could make a comeback at some point. But this is still a good alternate timeline

This made me happy. It sucks that we don't get huge pushes for guys like Mysterio and Bryan but those turned to disappointment anyway. The thing that really hit me was how this would affect things with Benoit. I also believe Eddie's presence would have helped Chris in his state. Thanks for this.

The reason CM Punk left the day after the 2014 Royal Rumble was after throwing a massive hissy fit about not winning all the time... And then last September, he ASSAULTED all 3 of The Elite at AEW All Out, and until fairly recently, was never seen in an AEW ring again.

It's unfortunate that we didn't get the chance to experience the great career Eddie would of had. I was in middle school at the time when I first heard about Eddie's passing and a kid Came up and told me Eddie is dead. I didn't believe it at first until I went home that day after school and search on the WWE website and I saw his face right on the front page saying in loving memory of Eddie Guerrero.
Eddie was apart of my childhood as well, everytime I come back from school, I always used to do Eddie's Frogsplash to my teddy bear on the trampoline lol.
Eddie in a way is still alive today through WWE 2K and maybe we could get someone who sounds like Eddie and can voice him in WWE 2K20 and or future games
