The legacy of the island still lives on in Lego, the logo for xtreme stunts is in the Ninjago City set and I think the island was referenced in the bio for the Pizza delivery guy from CMF series 12
They had a pizza delivery guy in the "Hidden Side" theme named "Ronny" who was basically Pepper in all but name and it makes me wonder if maybe Lego doesn't own the trademark to the Lego Island characters anymore or something. It's a shame because it seems they're willing to reference their older material *sometimes*, like how Rocket Racer became part of the motorcycles sub-theme.
Damn, this is glorious to see. I've honestly wanted to do something like this for a long time, including the island itself, but never had quite the ability to obtain the bricks needed. I find it cool how this guy, and I were born in the same years, and I'd love to meet him one day to see the builds, and those minifigs in person. Yeah, the faces are paper cut-outs, but I love seeing the classic Brickster in minifig form... except for the fact he doesn't have his SIGNATURE BALLCAP, YOU SLACKER! You gave him is LEGO Island 2 hat! I do wish LEGO would at least release an anniversary copy of the game, some cheap sets based on the game, and some minifig blind bags. As much as I'm pissed with what LEGO does these days, and even more so now that I know they sacked the first games team purely to avoid paying them more for their success, I'd still buy any LEGO Island stuff they pump out purely o I can have more memorabilia of it.

Looking around the LEGO Island, building a race car, a jet-ski, a car and a helicopter, changing things, racing on the racetrack, jet-skiing around the island, flying the helicopter, delivering pizzas, driving a tow truck to rescue a vehicle, driving an ambulance to help people in trouble and catching the Brickster.

Wow that game is a massive nostalgia trip for me, I was obsessed with the game as a kid. I see you built one of the alternative houses from the residential area, if you played Pepper you could turn one of the three houses into your pick of four other designs. I find it kind of bizarre you couldn't play with the designs of the other houses or incorporate all of them into the setting. Also we need a version where you can actually access the bank, Super Store and post office. I don't know what you'd be able to do at those places, but we should have access to every location on the island.
Wild thing about the Brickolini's is one of them is referenced in a level in the Legoland PC, so Mama Brickolini somehow found herself in charge of restaurant building in that game hehe.

I don't remember exact figures, but I wanna say it was about $700. I can't recall if that included the cost of the 3 sets that were already real Lego sets or not. I think it didn't so probably closer to $850.
Most of them are printed on sticker paper and put onto blank minifigs. You can tell by the edges of the stickers which designs are custom and which are official Lego designs.

LEGO Island is one of the greatest kids games of all time. If only it wasn't NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to get it running on a modern PC. Also, you know that most parts of LEGO Island are based on real 90's LEGO sets, right?
The biggest inaccuracy I see here is a very understandable one. All the blue window frames on all the buildings should have the 3 cross bars, but that window was only produced for one single set. The Super store & Pizzeria logos, as well as 4 more windows would have appeared in one set: 6500 Holiday Village... which was never released!
Believe me, I know. I hated that I had to sub them, but there were literally only 3 for sale on Bricklink so it wasn't an option even if I had the funds.
Exactly! I really wanted to build the island myself, and every time leaks of new city sets come out, I have my fingers crossed they'll release the blue windows. I'm super jealous of your Infomaniac fig!
I wish I had used better paper too, but as for the pixel art, I love the way it looks like the Lego figures from the game came to life. So I don't think I would have done that differently today.

I printed out decals from the game onto sticker paper. Not the highest quality, there are much better ways to make custom figs, but I was on a time crunch
Cool sets and awesome knowledge of the game. Do wish to correct that building of player interactable vehicle is done at the building that uses them. (Raceway for race cars), (Police station for the police helicopter), (gas station for the jeep), (lifeguard house for the jet ski). Oh and that the pizza store also has a piano playing talent. But otherwise he did a good job on covering general lore. Have fun finding the game's secrets if you get the chance to play

I've heard that there's someone trying to make an official 3rd game, but the last update about it was sometime late last year (2019)
