A redemption arc is as old as humanity that answers the question: at what point does a person turn from their wicked ways? For some, it is an experience that motivates change. For others, it takes the form of relationships that helps redefine what is really important in this life. The Blame-Game with finger-pointing prevents ownership of one’s own culpability. Hence, no redemption is possible for those blamers. Irredeemable means no arc required.

As a parent and former child, I’m aware of the one argumentative technique for which there is no defense. “ I know you are but what am I?” This is what he basically employed against you and there’s really nothing you can do but to disengage.
I saw you on a panel with some of those "sketchy account" hosts, and was turned on to your channel that way. I love the humor you blend in. That is one thing that helps you rise above the cringe level of the critics of your work, like this She-Hulk [REDACTED]. I do not always agree with your takes, but I find that intellectually stimulating, and it's the only "diversity" not championed by the diversity champions. Sometimes your positions challenge me to re-evaluate my own. Your arguments are persuasive, not poisonous, presented in a manner that does not challenge the ego of strong minded people, yet challenges them to ponder things from a different point of view. Well done, and I will be seein' ya!

They have the energy but not the talent. That's the problem. 🙂 They'll probably use She-Hulk in a cameo situation in the upcoming Hulk World movie, as hinted at in the last episode. But that's it most likely.
@@briansmith48 Their "energy" is nothing but unhinged, narcissistic rage based on projected self-loathing. It deserves neither attention nor tolerance but, if anything, a shot from a tranq gun.
4:26, When I started watching the She-Hulk show, I was thinking that The Critical Drinker, Eric July, Just Some Guy, That Star Wars Girl and most of the other anti-SJW film critics on UA-cam were dead wrong about it but then I watched the finale which decided to sacrifice the conflict that was set up in practically every prior episode for an anti-climax wherein She-Hulk asked Robot Kevin Feige to fix everything for her and he just did rendering the story arc they got the audience invested in completely meaningless. They effectively just sent the message of “you’re a sucker for having liked this show” and the writers saying after the fact that it was planned since the beginning was enough to confirm that watching the show was a mistake.
In the comic skipping ahead was all for the intention of getting to the climax. In this instance the she hulk show used it to skip over the climax. Yeah they did something different and went meta which I appreciate the attempt. But at what end? The meta tool was definitely not used right. Like using the bottom part of a hammer to hammer a nail in a board.
He shifted the question and point of your innitial questions and went into a finger pointing blame game. Its nice to see smart people like you who analyze this things and show us their thought patterns
It's also worth noting that in the comic books, Jennifer Walters is a notably chill, basically happy and well-adjusted person. She doesn't spend immense amounts of time - or any at all, actually - feeling sorry for herself for being oppressed by thah pay-tree-ar-kee.
Also, in regards to the sexual nature of She-Hulk. While Jennifer was sexually promiscuous, she wasn't stupid. She's a defense attorney and expected to be a professional. She wouldn't be twerking like a jackass in her office, much less where her boss could see her. You can still be confident and sexy and still use common sense. It's not that difficult.
Stay strong I appreciate that you don’t lay down for anybody. The fact that he didn’t respond to your arguments and had to resort to personal attacks is a victory.
Name calling and getting personal is the last go-to-move of the desperate when they know they have already lost in the discussion / debate over facts. So they go to feelings instead

Okay. Just listened and wanted to add more. I had to pull over the car. The channel "Comics Matter with Ya Boi Zack" started the trend of pushback against "everyone gets a trophy" comics writing. He inspired EVS and most of the people you stream with. He suffers the same slings and arrows of threats and actually had a solid tortious interference against Mark Waid for blocking on-shelf sales of his Jawbreakers crowd-funded comics. This is Zack's (Richard C. Meyer) transformation you are experiencing, phase 3. I am proud and sad to see a comic prodigy like yourself getting harshly red-pilled this way. (ominously) "I've seen this before."
Sorry, I don't know anything about comics, but I'm responding to the last sentence. Rings of Power Galadriel: "You have not seen what I have seen." 😂 Bonus: "You can't quench your thirst by drinking seawater." 🤣
What Ya Boi Zack has been saying would happen for a while is happening now. That’s why they are raging on Twitter about it. Companies are going bankrupt and losing IP rights, having to sell them off. We have done all we could have to warn the industry, but the wrong people have the power, and the bean counters up top are just starting to notice.
I'm pretty sure tweets and writing from people like "him" - provide a lot more fodder for rage tubers than your videos ever will chato. You are one of the most fair and reasonable commenters on the platform. You give your opinion, often knowing that it might easily annoy or enrage some of the hotter heads in your followers. That's awesome. I was mildly irritated that you gave session one of a couple of shows I didn't like a cautiously positive review, but I accepted your viewpoint as fair and reasonable because it was. You took the time to explain the whys and wherefores of your conclusions, and I had to agree with your viewpoint. That puts you light years in advance of the average slow progressive twatter ignoramus who expresses a positive viewpoint and "supports" it only with meaningless progressive buzzwords, not with actual viewpoints and discussion. You, sir, are a treasure and a legend and I value you and your viewpoints. Your responses were a masterclass in effective and civil argument, while your opponents engaged in ad hominen attacks and appeals to emotion based on smug moralizination
Hail Chato, happy new year mate ! On a totally unrelated note you may have inspired Professor John Jennings, the real life Mr Canoehead. Good Job, Paul. Don't be cowed by these scumbags. You're obviously a decent human being, but these people are accustomed to getting their way by name-calling, condescension, shutting down, shouting down, defunding, delegitimizing, demonizing, demonetizing, ostracizing, and threatening the livelihoods and careers of their political opponents. Most of us spend most of our lives being gaslit by these people, so it's therapeutic to listen/watch people who get it. Some on "this side" get carried away with the anger and I'm glad you don't give in to them and I hope you never do. Please don't because it's always the angriest and most unhinged people who tend to be the loudest, and the normal people who are just sick of being gaslit need voices like yours.

Hey Chato, I adore your perspective, not due to it being aligned with mine, but because you are able to use your experience as a network exec to bring the thoughts and aspirations on that level. Fans, whether those who enjoy a product or hate a product, come from a consumer POV. You provide an insider's view which is more leveled and dispassionate. This allows for some needed perspective and reflection and opens a view that so many of us just don't have. Thank you for these thoughtful videos. Also, Dan Slott can't reason worth shit.

I don't blame you for skipping this year, and wish I could join you in 2024 for hopefully some more rational discussion. Alas, my time machine works on a 1:1 scale with time...
Okay, this was a really good video. The person who was engaging Chato obviously is hyper sensitive about criticism of the woke agenda. They can't tolerate any dissent from the party line. Chato dissected the arguments line by line and they could not refute his arguments. It probably irked them that Chato gets more laughs from these videos than any of the shows he discusses.
You are right : the two scenes are not equivalent. The thing in common is depravity. Tony is not really empowered by paying dancers. It shows a "filthy billionaire" trope and it's efficient because we immediately root for Pepper in the beginning. And Tony has to deal with his own flaws, later. The twerk scene was meant to show us Jen having fun, as a free woman. A positive scene, on paper, but it kinda failed. It was perceived negatively. Twerking is not empowering, it's kinda gross (at least, people are divided on the question). Also, twerking in an office is a bad behaviour. Tony could do stuff like that because money and power would get him out of consequences (and that'd be another jerk move you don't root for, like getting drunk in his armor). Jen wasn't in the position to act like this, it was out of character.
Yes. This is my line of thinking also. Both acts are perverse. But only one is intended to be celebrated. The movie gives the heroes flaws and the audience accepts them because we expect he will grow/learn from them. But, with female characters this development cannot be expected. That’s the general problem with female characters today: their depraved behaviors are meant to be celebrated as a showcase of authentic human freedom. I believe this is why people are outraged.
@@amyj4283 It's like they forget to write their female characters. Male heroes aren't heroes because they are male but because they are men of exception. They grow, they have to deal with their flaws or surpass their limits. Tony's arc is complete : from a selfish guy to a sacrificial savior. It could have been a woman instead. Now, they put a woman and declare she's fantastic. It's just the world who is mean and has to change or adapt. So, the character doesn't evolve. Just looking at beloved female characters, we see they all have a satisfying arc. They also could've been male. Gender is finally not that important (unless you write a story about specific struggles).
You have to be out of touch with reality to think that criticizing a Disney show is punching down. Like, who can punch down on Disney? Do they legit think Critical Drinker or Mauler have more money and status than Disney or Amazon?
in any case, this “punching up or down” thing is nonsense. Disney could be a producer of internet shows and they’d still get raked over the coals for this

It's always fun to watch "The Left moved so far left that the Center became the Right" happen in real time for someone.
Feeding the Flames of Hatred sounds like a pretty cool name for a band.
It would make a good name for a metal band!
Yes!
“Punching down” is what people accuse others of when they have run out of other bad faith arguments
"How was _She Hulk_ a teenager's TV show? I was pretty certain it was for unmarried alcoholic women in their thirties." Had to pause there until I could quit laughing.
I'm so glad I've never been on Twitter.
I thought it was for fat alcoholic men in their 50s…….
@@melindahall5062 Hey! Who's alcoholic?!
The guy critiquing you changed the subject every time he was wrong lol
One of my happiest days was deleting my Twitter accounts a few years ago.
Mine was deleting my facebook account.
Compared to other reviewers on youtube, you were fairly mild in your comments about She Hulk.
2023: A year where more quality entertainers and creative people passed on than actually created quality work.
Thank you Paul. Nuff said.

My She-Hulk question: isn't Disney She-Hulk guilty of sexual assault? She kidnapped DareDevil into an alternate reality without his permission because "a woman has needs", making him a non-consenting sex toy. If Hulk did that to Black Widow wouldn't there be outrage and accusations of r*pe?
No, it wasn't her fault; she's not responsible due to internalized misogyny and the patriarchy.
@@WeAreHere-42 Oh, you were so close! But you forgot to include anything about old, white, cis-hetero-normative males, so obviously *_you're cancelled!!!_*
@@OgamiItto70 I mean, if you are going to "punch up" you may as well punch everybody while you are at it.
That's a question for a good lawyer, unfortunately we don't have one available in the current MCU.
That depends. Is Wonder Woman guilty too for having sex with Steve Trevor while he was possessing another man's body in Wonder Woman 1984? 🤔
Love you Chato. You gave this guy way more attention than he deserved.
This channel made me remember how lucky we are that we have those 'giants of old' who lived for their work and thus created epic things.
And that's the reason why corporate thugs will never be able to win so they hate them and try to tarnish their visions. Like thorny branches that can bear no fruit, they try to entwine with the good trees to stifle and suck the life of them. But, as Rick from Casablanca would say: "We'll always have Paris." No matter how many silhouettes of Spiderman, She-Hulk, etc. they try to create - we'll always have the OGs.
Thanks, Paul!
And greetings from Serbia!
Welcome to the "Nerd rage soy culture" Chato. We saved you a seat. It's on the aisle. We tried to make allowances in case you decide to wear your "Canoehead" cosplay.
As a parent and former child, I’m aware of the one argumentative technique for which there is no defense.
“ I know you are but what am I?”
This is what he basically employed against you and there’s really nothing you can do but to disengage.
Thank you very much.
Now... Imagine they took all that energy and wrote a great show! I can't wait to see how they use this version of she-hulk in the movies... I'll get the marshmallows for that dumpster fire...
They have the energy but not the talent. That's the problem. 🙂
They'll probably use She-Hulk in a cameo situation in the upcoming Hulk World movie, as hinted at in the last episode. But that's it most likely.
@@briansmith48 Their "energy" is nothing but unhinged, narcissistic rage based on projected self-loathing. It deserves neither attention nor tolerance but, if anything, a shot from a tranq gun.
@@markusfreund6961 . 😆😅😂🤣 👍
This channel is one of my favorite things to watch in all of 2022
And 2024.
@@danny87573 I also think that Hollywood today tends to think that Metafiction is inherently funny when that’s not actually the case.
Paul, hands down this is one of your best videos to date. Please keep up the good work, I don’t want to wait until 2024.
He shifted the question and point of your innitial questions and went into a finger pointing blame game. Its nice to see smart people like you who analyze this things and show us their thought patterns
Biggest She-Hulk sin; changing her origin story so that she saved Bruce instead of other way around... Good year Chato!
She-Hulk, the show that keeps on giving great content - to the reviewers.
Best video of the year. 🎉
Damn straight.
Another Great Video!!
Your humor and wit shredded what little argument they posed.
To be fair, I watched that happen in real time, and you were pretty reasonable.
He had no response to the Tony Stark point at all.
Well, perhaps he meant communication because in telephony you "punch down" when you connect the wires to,....you know what? Nevermind. I am fairly certain that he was just trying to play the "I am the victim" card.
Thanks for helping 2023 get off to a good start. Happy New Year to you.
You "punch down" dough that is overinflated, hoping for a good second rising. Good luck with that.
As long as you put out content, I’ll be here to watch it! Can’t say the same for any streaming service. You must be doing something right.

“A diverse and inclusive show, does not get an automatic free pass” 👏👏👏 Can I get an Amen for that!
Rings of Power Galadriel: "You have not seen what I have seen." 😂
Bonus: "You can't quench your thirst by drinking seawater." 🤣
Chato streams with EVS? Wild.
Hopefully Slotto Blocktavius will soon end up blocking every single human being on the planet. That would be an invaluable service to humanity.
Thanks Chato. Your content are clever and inclusive by nature. You encorauge dialogue and confronting different opinions. Greetings from Italy

“See you in 2024”
Dude, don’t joke that way!
Even and especially when they go against my knee-jerk reactions to headlines that I basically translate as "progressive buzzword 'entertainment' company puts out new product designed to insult those who don't agree with them 100% and it is the bestest thing evah!"
I took his history class at Trent 30 years ago (back when I lived in Canada), and he was obsessed with canoes, bet he was a Frantics fan too. He helped start a canoe museum in Peterborough. Cheers.
Thank you for the video! Well explained. Iron man had a character development while Shit-Hulk had none.
One of your finest retorts, Paul! Thank you for your work
Good Job, Paul.
Ferns and tramp stamps!? These are the true hard hitting issues of 2024. This year's shaping up to be fun...

Soooo, he basically told ya’ “It’s not that you are wrong. It’s that you provide the ‘ENEMY’ with real arguments against us” 🤟🤣
It's funny, a lot of TV/ Film content I thought was not good though for me back in the 1960's, 1970s, 1980's, I now find is better than most of the Garbage put out now and the last year's, And like toxic poison, The slightest Wokeness, and I turn off, my tolerance gets lower every month, I no longer watch any free to air tv, and I'm scared to turn on pay streaming, I have my film collection (dvd) and Tubi and Flex have a lot of other good content now, Keep up the good work Chato, You are Needed in these Darkest days of TV And Film.
All I can say, from day one , is “thank you”!!!!!!!
Imagine arguing that such a reviled show was "comic accurate" and not realizing what a scathing indictment that is to a comic you supposedly love.
“Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.” ― Mark Twain
It's pretty easy to find people who argue in bad faith, be it on Twitter, the UA-cam comments, Reddit, etc... It is immensely frustrating trying to talk reasonably only to have every false equivalence and namecalling tactic thrown at you.
I don't blame you for skipping this year, and wish I could join you in 2024 for hopefully some more rational discussion. Alas, my time machine works on a 1:1 scale with time...
2024 will not be a year of rational discussion…election year in the states 🇺🇸
These people give you all the ammo you need to run this channel for decades. Keep it up mr Chato san!
She Hulk is green and an attorney in the comic books, and also on tv. So there is no difference whatsoever between the two. At all.
Ah.. the character attack followed by the ageist razzle dazzle. I'd pay to be locked in a room with some of these Tweeter Twerps.
He never attempted to argue a SINGLE one of your points.
It was ALL: "The things you say make The Community feel bad, so you're automatically wrong."
You must comply with the collective. One of us….one of us…
While we disagree on the Henry Cavill situation, your responses have been full of class. For that, I salute you.
