Dude you are insane doing this stuff by yourself, amazing! I am doing a 72 to 70 and after seeing your videos, frame off restoration. Trying to get the bolts out so I can take off the body. I do have a forklift which should make things a bit easier. Anyway thanks for the videos, it is nice to see someone going through the pain and joy I am experiencing!

glad to see the new video. love seeing the pic at the start, keep your dad close as long as you can. My dad passed several years back but I just spent the day with my mom and she went with me to look at a Chevelle.
I about crapped when the body dropped fast...lol.

Thanks for the tips. This makes me motivated do do this to my 71 someday myself. Regarding the trunk, please show how you plan on fixing this as 90% of all Chevelles have trunk issues. Thanks for sharing.

Great video, I really appreciate the detail of how you lowered the body back down. This really helped me, about to remove the body on my 66, and was trying to find the best way to go about it, thanks and congrats!

In the process of building a 1971 Malibu Pro Street the body is in primer, getting the inside ready for floor pans and huge wheel tub's. Have been following your progress wish I had recorded my build to date.

Leave the body on the jacks slightly suspended...allows you to wiggle and jiggle the body as you insert the bolts

Great work! What device did you use with the jack to keep it level?

Long post on the ground 82 inches long. both cross pieces that support the cab are 84 inches long. Sitting on top of the front top post is a 58 inch 4 x 4.The Two front support posts are 21 inches the two back support posts are 30 inches. I used 6 inch lag screws to hold everything together, pre-drilling all my holes so I didn’t split any wood i also added 4x4 pieces‘s cut at 45° angle in all of the corners to help support and make it strong. One other note on the front top cab support I had to angle or remove a some wood, it’s held up really @t might be able to look back at the video I wrote the measurements on the boards if there’s any confusion let me know. Is this the info you were looking for?
