Feels like Wuwa really spoiled us in the action gacha game genre (is that even a genre?) because visually it just feels like a stiff wuwa. Hopefully after the game releases for real they make the animations look less stiff and change the UI to be more easy to read. EDIT: omg I almost forgot to add. Thanks for the video! Your breakdown was easy to understand
We're especially looking forward to Project Mugen, which has resurfaced and revolutionised open-world gachas in its 2022 trailer! It's got more quality and it's superb compared to NTE. Even if NTE makes me want to play it too! All it did was draw inspiration from Project Mugen.
This is the most in-depth analysis of NtE I've ever seen. I hope they the game succeeds. I'll give it a try but I won't probably stick with it unless they do better combat than WuWa and PGR. Also, the progression system reminds me of Reverse 1999 with the tetris mechanic.
Hope you are doing well havent seen you upload in a while! Just wanted to say i really enjoy your ToA clear videos, most gacha creators nowdays are only covering drama content so yours is always a nice change cuz its actually doing things in the game!
For now, I don't like the fixed element dependency for synergy because I think this can lead to gacha dependency for power progression similar to Nikke's old level 160 wall. If they don't expand the synergy interaction into a matrix similar to what Genshin elements had at launch I expect them to supply good enough non-limited characters so you can fill in the slots to able to use the characters you actually want. I like the Reverse 1999 style unlock approach to gear unlocks as the stats aren't hidden.
Essentially they took Genshin`s elemental party synergy system, Wuthering waves Intro (but not the outro it seems?) system, Wuthering waves break gauge system (but forced it where you need to rotate the entire party for a total value as bonus damage so quick swap hatred is a present), Zenless zone zero`s rather overly flashie use of multiple artstyles for its scene play elements, Genshin`s rather static-like handling of combat and likely a few other things. Oh and somehow made a `accessory set equip system`, even far more complicated by thinking it totally needs to involve using some kind of Mario & Luigi Badge Pairing system in addition to the artifact-like system has to also work like tetris, with each character having entirely different plate designs and possibly different `rolls` on the stat like block pieces might even have different tetris piece shapes to make it even MORE of a confusing damn mess to work with, which if it still has to involve leveling it up to get sub stats...yeesh. Ultimately i can already see this is literally Tower of Fantasy logic all over again where it feels like they mashed a bunch of things together but did so in a SUBPAR WAY and i think i would rather look at Project MUGEN more then believe this game has much of a chance of standing out... Maybe if this game gave up on copy-pasting the combat design and focusing more on a GTA like combat style where its more about a social-like hotpot of exploring, hanging out like its club penguin and just having fun with various activities with things like stamina and the monetization system would lean more into acquiring cosmetics and so on, maybe everness to stillness could look better... Ironic the best way for this game (Atleast i believe so), is to probably thrive, would probably be to DIVORCE itself from the standard RPG system design basically.

It doesn’t help that most of the character designs are lackluster and too busy. The only characters that have my attention to wanna pull for was that Cruella Da Ville child clone, blondie with the big hat in the trailer and most importantly the wolf furry and the Sunday clone. The only things that stuck out to me are the artifact system and side content such as the cafe management and apartment decorating functions. For the side content, I appreciate that there are benefits to managing a cafe AND decorating your living space. They all feed off of each other; you can’t have one without the other and in turn, reward you with benefits and other stats over time. This is something the teapot function in Genshin lacked, which I ended up lazily not using and forgetting about. My only concern is that I hope this won't be super busy work and overwhelming. How much leveling this requires and how often this function will be updated. Stuff to spice up the gameplay in those possibly. Plus, the camera fix and furnishings being located anywhere/ unfazable from what you’re saying. The artifact system is super stylish and different, but I also liked there not being stat RNG and the pieces not being linked to a certain element (too many games do this, especially when you have a good stats piece, but it’s not in the character’s element). I wish games did this, which would save the headache and resources. The Tetris piece building I can see to being an annoyance later on and can affect the viability of certain artifacts. Speaking of RNG, I’m also concerned about the banner system. Not to bring up WuWa, but they do have a great weapon banner system where standard AND limited weapons are GUARANTEED. After seeing all the in game features in the beta I'm starting to question if the community got it wrong. This ain't anime GTA. It's just another open world rpg but in urban setting. When the main gameplay loop of GTA V is doing missions, making money and role playing, NTE throws you into another convulated RNG gear grind and selling character dupes. Hotta really needs to make it clear to the consumer what their game direction is. Hopefully that gets answered by the 2nd beta.
The GTA comparison is only about the fact that it's a modern urban open world with cars and real estate, both with customization... Nobody was saying the nte game loop was GTA, just that it had similar features
If you describe GTA as just "the main gameplay loop of GTA V is doing missions, making money and role playing" then that's very much like NTE. Difference lies in the fact that GTA focuses on crime
Hotta I can't really trust in terms of polish after playing ToF. They're like the developers in gacha that have a big vision; that looks at what other gachas are known for and are good at and crams them into a singular package. Like a jack of all trades, master of none.
I feel like it goes the other way around. ToF was a mess early on, but it improved a lot over the years. Not enough to undo the negative first impression people had, but still. It's very unlikely NTE will be released with as little polish as ToF did, even more so since Hotta doesn't have to deal with licensing issues involving the government this time around.
it's the other way around. Tof was stiff in beginning and they improve fast, in 1-2 years, tof became different game. Tof is the opposite of genshin, while tof keep improving and actually trying everything, genshin is slow at improving and doesn't take risk. If you only play tof in first 3 months or just listening to gossip then it's understandable if that's what your impression about tof, because in early 3 months people was expecting genshin and the "people" were genshin players
@@LUCAS420BLZ in gacha game, 1 year is fast. genshin needed 3 years just to implement basic QoL, tof had 1 year to made entirely different world in one game. you will be confused to see asperia (one year ago) and today tof with all new mechanics. what i mean not genshin standard of "improve" but entirely improve world building, QoL, mechanics, progression system, gear, etc. imagine like this, instead having fontaine underwater and dendro in 3 years, tof made that in 1 year
@@tiagoc7629 well overall at least there will be no tencent on global anymore, those guys make 99% of game problems you see on global version and they never fixed those, im pretty shure if genshin was operated by tencent instead of genshin devs it would be as trash as tof on global
From the videos/streams I've seen so far, combat is definitely one of the weakest points of the game but the potential is already there to make it great. That Tetris-style gearing system looks tedious AF. Hopefully the grind isn't miserable in the final version.
Anyone else think this game would benefit by just removing that combat design style and embracing a more grand theft auto gameplay style lol? Basically feelsl ike this game if it got rid of the open world combat trope its following and embrace more of a Yakuza like combat style with more emphasis on mini-games and hanging out would likely save this game from suffering i would like to believe...
@@arkcanon1282 Yup, if loads of companies already can shove a FPS into a mobile game, by this era, it shouldnt be that hard for them to ditch the genshin/wuthering-waves style and just make it a open world FPS game that way.
One thing I don't like is that Combat feels very slow, not my style, but it's much more fun than Genshin. In terms of movement, although it's slow but it's very fast as a GTA-style game.
Its really just a more complicated intro skill as far as im reading it: 1. You need party members to meet a party comp where unlike genshin`s simply works by having say, a party of 4 different elements, a party of 2 or 3 of the same elements, this game seems to make it they need to stand in specific spots in a circle and if they dont stand next to eachother in that circle, then they cant synergy with eachother... Would of probably been better to NOT have the link element and just simply have it where synergy effects depending on the combination occurs and having members maybe on the same element could result in stronger effects, maybe up to a cap of 2 members, but that would probably be too complicated considering all the combinations one could get with a `link` combination of 6 different values. 2. After that party comp thing is achieved it just seems like its a much more basic brand way of hit stuff till gauge fills without much thinking beyond that, cause it sounds like no OUTRO skill is present, which lacking that is kinda terrible since outro skills enabled units to apply buffs to the unit switching in, typically damage buffs from sub-dps, supports giving usually a party wide regen or attack buff and for a main dps they would usually do a off-field attack move that coordinates with the switched in character to nudge some extra damage the main dps can do...Ultimately just having it solely be an effect for `entering` combat means that NTE has to have the `buff effect` tied to the character itself for this `fade in skill`, meaning the characters end up having far less synergy if it has to be tied to say a elemental skill or `ultimate`, instead of other possible factors. Conclusion: As its sounding, Just as annoying as elemental reaction system if you wanna use certain units together, Less rewarding for switching characters since its way of handling a stun gauge system already wants to force you to switch between many characters to compile additional damage, meaning your switching the characters less for the `fade in skill` and more to fulfil what will likely be the beeg damage when that gauge depletes, since it sounded like beeg dmg happens soon as that gauge pops instead of simply opening a window todo beeg dmg, removing resistances like how wuthering waves handles its own stun gauge instead... Funny how Genshin could benefit much from a stun gauge cause whether its console, indie or mobile games, so many dang games use stun gauge mechanics, lol...
Man seeing all these reviewers complaining about combat lol, from the looks of it there isn't anything wrong with it people are just upset it's not WuW like. Not everything has to follow recent industry trends for it to be enjoyable
It's objectively clunky and slow. Literally has nothing to do with wuthering waves. It's a CBT so obviously if the devs are smart they'd take the feedback and improve it.
ill probably pass on this game if its a No healer role like ZZZ, coz it means that the bosses probably cant even 1-2 shot u and only attack every 10 secs XD
Honestly i can't differentiate between 4* and 5* character... All of their combat style just ur usual basic attack, skill, ultimate and aim mode for ranged character...
Ngl, i like the world building, exploration and stuff but the combat is still kinda miss for me specially on the dodging part. The dodging should make you feel you actually dodged an attack, and here i can't tell if they actually successfully dodged the attacks or not, also it seems like dodging don't work and the players 99% of the time ended up face tanking the hits. I'm not gonna use wuwa dodge as comparison of how it should feel but I'm going to compare it to the recent trailer of Azur Phomilia where you can actually see and feel that they are actually dodging attacks, and ngl that's how i picture NTE dodging would feel like up until i saw all the beta Livestreams so far.
I might have to quit some game though lol Like man... 1) PSO2NGS... 2) HSR... 3) FGO 4) WuWa 5) PGR 6) Metaphor Rephatasio Yeah that's my life on top of work... Damn... What game I should quit is still in my mind... Oh yeah I watch every anime too. My life is so packed.
@shemdellashemygd29 i said kills the hype not that i will not give it a chance. It's just that I'm not excited anymore, like i'll play when it launches officially for like a week and be done with it. If they don't overhaul the combat.
It's First CBT. Obviously there's gonna be more characters on actual launch, they already mentioned that in their recent dev FAQ after the CBT finished.
Yup, definitely feels like Tower of Fantasy But just sliiiiiightly better... Visually 😂 The combat looks worse than ToF The movement looks just like ToF wich is fine for me The Tetris thing is just lile the TV maze in ZZZ, just annoying as hell But well, it's still the beta, let's see what happens

@@jwkwkwkwmenenen70 yes, only 10% that do abyss 12, it has been said for years too (iirc it always been like this since back in 2020-2021). some people don't do it because of it gives anxiety, this is the same reason why genshin doesn't give more endgame, people not doing it. the current "endgame" doesn't even give more reward but just variating the "endgame" because if they double the reward with 2 endgame, people will get even more anxiety and also the reason why floor 9-11 can be quick claim reward
I like the style but wuwa combat seems much better. Of course it could change but then project mugen offers a similar style and fun spiderman traversal so im leaning towards that. But have to see how that games combat works too.
Idk if it's a Beta thing or not but you didn't mention how the Constellations are selectable where if you want the 6th constellation effect, you can pick it even at your 1st dupe.
Love the comprehensive but easy-to-understand guide tho. Easily one of the best reviews so far
So NTE looks like ZZZ, feels like genshin, plays like wuwa. Indeed an anime GTA6 lol
But can you steal vehicles?
it looks like if ZZZ had no budget
Most important aspects in gta is doing crime and gangster. This game for cry babies weebs too colorful. Saying this gta anime is joke. 🤡
@@kaitodelucky7652 Yes. It is. So maybe chill the f*ck out.
@@Hronika-kw5plyeah, poor guys all they could do was small boring 0 interactions maps with no IA npc and you can't even access to the store or any location without a ton of loading screen
Wait, thats zzz
@@prohanta9360 1-2 years is not fast
@@BladeSerphThis.
They need to fully embrace the "GTA" element if they can't do well with the combat.
Cbt1 btw.
Hey Kyrie
Happy you enjoyed the game and i cant wait to watch you play it
Merry Christmas 🎉🎉
Great indept review as always 👏👏
Unrelated to the video, but, did I miss something? Your name changed.
The ults are so good
Yoooo where are you ? What happened ?
She's still alive, she streamed a while ago.
So is the "Fade in" kinda like an Intro Skill but with elemental reaction?
Its really just a more complicated intro skill as far as im reading it:
Funny how Genshin could benefit much from a stun gauge cause whether its console, indie or mobile games, so many dang games use stun gauge mechanics, lol...
i definitely will give it a try!
i thank you for the team-up-with-elements information!!!!
I really love NTE
Man seeing all these reviewers complaining about combat lol, from the looks of it there isn't anything wrong with it people are just upset it's not WuW like. Not everything has to follow recent industry trends for it to be enjoyable
It's objectively clunky and slow. Literally has nothing to do with wuthering waves. It's a CBT so obviously if the devs are smart they'd take the feedback and improve it.
@PuReXVetEraN1 I have no idea what objectively "clunky and slow" is lol. Yes the game is not lightning fast like a ZZZ and that was by choice
ill probably pass on this game if its a No healer role like ZZZ, coz it means that the bosses probably cant even 1-2 shot u and only attack every 10 secs XD
I'm not gonna use wuwa dodge as comparison of how it should feel but I'm going to compare it to the recent trailer of Azur Phomilia where you can actually see and feel that they are actually dodging attacks, and ngl that's how i picture NTE dodging would feel like up until i saw all the beta Livestreams so far.
yall know theres gonna be that one guy after realese that says ermmm why are they no black charachters🤓
I might have to quit some game though lol

I'm sorry....
NTE's combat really kills the game hype for me....
So your gonna not give it a chance. Going on like they will not upgrade it...
@shemdellashemygd29 i said kills the hype not that i will not give it a chance. It's just that I'm not excited anymore, like i'll play when it launches officially for like a week and be done with it. If they don't overhaul the combat.
Only has 2 women and one is a NPC. The rest are children.
It's First CBT. Obviously there's gonna be more characters on actual launch, they already mentioned that in their recent dev FAQ after the CBT finished.
Characters designs look like indie vtubers ngl
Yup, definitely feels like Tower of Fantasy
But just sliiiiiightly better... Visually 😂
The combat looks worse than ToF
The movement looks just like ToF wich is fine for me
The Tetris thing is just lile the TV maze in ZZZ, just annoying as hell
