South Africa’s lions are under siege. The Kruger National Park is home to the biggest percentage of free roaming lions in South Africa, but in the northern areas of the Greater Kruger, the habitat is under pressure from human settlements and there is a surge in rampant poaching. As you will see in this video, a lioness almost loses her life. The situation is dire.
The Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT) works tirelessly in these areas. Their presence means the difference between life and death for many animals, as they fight this war day in and day out.
Our Foundation has decided to support EWT’s efforts and fundraise for their anti-poaching programme to make sure that they have the resources they need to continue protecting lions and other wildlife.

What the blooming hell is wrong with people? I am so tired of dealing with the human race and the cruel, selfish behavior. We’re having similar issues in our wildlife areas in East Tennessee. Two men have been charged with killing 200 deer. Another man charged with poaching 2 bull elk. They just killed them and left them dead on the ground. If I could inflict punishment on poachers they would suffer the same pain and agony they inflict on the poor, helpless animals. The sight of the buffalo dead on the ground knowing the agony it suffered before dying brought me to tears. So glad you were able to save the lioness. Same story from western ND, multiple deer and elk, shot and dehorned, left to rot, over the last 5 years. Just cleaned up the remains of another, on an oil well location, near our farm.
Right "next door", in Montana and Idaho, thousands of raptors were shot and killed, for their feathers. Luckily, those two yahoos were caught and arrested...
idk about the US but in Africa its a way to get by in life. A lot of these people do it because it is a big source of income. As they said in the beginning teeth, bones, skin, fat.... They sell it on the black market as souvenirs or because some ppl believe those items have magical powers and they can get way more money this way than doing a regular job. Poverty is the main drive for poaching in Africa. A lot of the customers come from Europe or North America, especially when it comes to private hunting. There are people who pay thousands of dollars to fulfill their fantasy of hunting down a lion for example. The reason its so hard to beat this trend is because people like Kevin can basically just fight symptoms and not the cause. They remove these traps, in two days they will be back.
It might be understandable if someone was poaching because they and their family were hungry, but just to kill for killing's sake is insane!
@@bomber9912 I think a lot of trophy hunters come from the US. They spend thousands of dollars to shoot a lion. I don’t understand how anyone could look into the face of one of these majestic animals and pull the trigger. We have the problem here in the US with trophy hunters shooting grizzly bears. It’s just barbaric. What infuriates me is a certain culture, I won’t name it but I think everyone knows, have these superstitious beliefs that animal parts cure disease. It’s just maddening.

Poor buffalo! A horrible death. Lucky lioness! How sad to see that if wildlife is gradually destroyed because of these snares, no one will be able to benefit from it. Thank you to the whole team for everything they do to protect and save these animals which are really in great danger.

This is horrifying!!!! That poor buffalo, what an awful death! At least it would of been fast & quick had a lion gotten to it. And that poor lioness!!!! I use to volunteer at a marine sanctuary & this is what it looked like when seals got tangled up in fishing line. Just awful wounds & deaths!!! Thank god you found her! I hope this never happens again to her & that she will be ok & live a long life. You all are heros and I will be sending a donation. It's great to see and to hear of you stepping in to assist with such horrible and horrific evil deeds going on in the reserves, especially in the Myeleti Reserve Kruger National Park. The reserve owners aren't doing enough to protect these majestic creatures nor is the African Government. I suggested that the Kruger Reserve Owners reach out to you, Kevin Richardson and to Four Paws International and other amazing Safe Sanctuary Owners who would possibly Intervene to help save animals in need of Medical Intervention that's not provided in certain Kruger Reserves in order to give them a second chance at life. These Are Very Heartbreaking, Disgusting, Despicable, and Evil Actions That Must Be Eradicated and Justice Brought On Behalf Of God's Magnificent Creations.
