Petes live cuts of Parachute songs are pure brialliance, gifted for being so young his phrasing is gorgeous, i think if Waller hadnt left the band after Parachute the next album would have been stellar, as it is i heard that Pete Tolson played the bass on Parachute, he even turned down an offer to play with Zep on bass and The Scorpions on guitar.sad the guys gone , glad to hear you were his freind and that he was a quality guy , i know he was a loner , but hes obviously got mojo like Gilmour...too talented a guy to not be known. Rip Pete and Thank you!!!
The live Parachute stuff with Pete Tolson is incredible, so fluid and beautiful phrasing, not just sitting there in one pent box etc so gifted but im not a fan after parachute which is a shame, i heard he was asked to play bass in Zep and said no (it must be late 70's and Pretty Things were on Swan song label i think, ) and yeah i know how crazy that does sound. And he turned down the Scorpions for guitar after Uli Roth left. Wish there was more, his first album was produced by Hendrix, thats sayin something obviously and Pete was about 16 i think. K i expect backlash for this info lol Thanks Pete , very inspiring !!!
honestly i care not what they were writing about, their guitar phrasing and intermingled jams speak volumes for themselves. heavy for the time...impeccable. jack white and the black keys wish they were these guys. love it!
Forgot he was dead as more famous stars that died this past 8 years (LOCKDOWN shockingly helped it go way to fast waisted years ) made me remember them a bit more
Saw their Los Angeles debut in '73 at The Whisky.... couldn't quite appreciate their subtleties then given my taste for overtly 'progressive' rock, but remember they were dynamic and hard to categorize. Now looking back, I would say that they were very similar in many ways to early Alice Cooper who I saw twice before they were signed.
Rip phil may who passed away today legend
It's very good to hear Waller acknowledging the worth of Pete Tolson. RIP. A great guitarist and even better and honest friend.

Very sad that many people have no chance to see the whole movie.
