What grade is your daughter in? IEW recommends starting Fix-It in 4th. They do book 2 in 5th, take a break in 6th, book 3 in 7th, book 4 in 8th, book 5 in 10th, and book 6 in 11th or 12th. Though they say book 1 can be used in 3rd, Andrew Pudewa says, “There’s no reason to start formal grammar before 4th.” I honestly think they do this purposely because of what you’re experiencing...the difficulty ramping up. Let me tell you, book 3 is hard!! So it’s no wonder they don’t do that until 7th. My daughter is in 8th doing book 3, and it is sometimes even hard for me. I’m pretty sure your daughter is in 4th doing book 2, so you may want to set it aside for next year. In the meantime you could do something like Easy Grammar to keep her skills fresh. Hope that helps!

She's in 4th. I can't remember why I started the grammar in 3rd grade, maybe other youtube videos had it for 3rd grade. She did great with the first book! Thank you for the info! I have some decisions to make.

This Life Yeah, a lot of people start it in 3rd! The first book is totally appropriate for 3rd, but the problem is the other books! Lol! They’re updating their pathway because they came out with a new writing program, but when it’s out I will link it.

@@EducationalRoots Yes! The first book was great! This one is more challenging. I am impressed with how much she is getting, but she still needs a lot of help in other areas. They have a new writing program? Id be very interested to look at that when its out!
