I would have used "ectasia" when describing the cavernous vessels. THH or Hobnail hemangioma, to my knowledge, are not diagnosed as such in veterinary pathology. However, similar lesions in dogs & cats are considered to be due to UV - Sunlight exposure in lightly pigmented skin

It can be challenging to handle dermpath cases even WITH dermpath training! You can learn how to do it, but you may need to send some cases out for additional expert opinion. It also really depends on the type of derm cases. Melanocytic cases and inflammatory cases can be very difficult sometimes
