As a bassist with a helix that does weird shit, I already know this is exactly the kind of channel I wanna see flourish.

I love the weird and ambient sounds. Love the Rabea plugin. The synth is epic. Hope they add it sooner rather than later.

Cool to see finally someone making an out of the box video about the Quad
    Really cool stuff
I’d love it if u could lower the background music in the mix at the beginning of the video it’s kinda hard to understand u over it 😕
Other than that great video ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻

So you’re saying you’re not a Djentleman. I respect that! This thing has some very interesting sounds.

This is awesome, I got some new ideas from this.
Currently looking for pad sounds that I can pitch around and play over live with my band.
Essentially emulating a very basic keys player.

Thank you, Eric! It's a great creative tool, not just a good set of pedals

A lot of the sounds you demo sound like extreme reverb, or granular synthesis. Very interesting stuff. Nice to hear a 'weird musician' perspective on the unit.

      @MakeWeirdMusic  Рік тому

I don't know what's going on, but it's fun and it doesn't sound like a guitar. I'm sure there's a TON more the unit can do that I just don't know about yet.

Well, might be interesting if my Eventide lets me down, although the non-racked form-factor is rather a no-go-zone in terms of practical use, I like weird effects too, but when it comes to the core sound, I mean the amp modelling, it has the same teeth-grinding effect on me as all the others (AxeFX, Kemper, NI G-Rig, Amplitube, VG-99, etc etc etc). Since, despite Yan Maresz (IRCAM pundit) sent a call to define a notation for sounds' grain, there is still none, I will go on using smells or tastes to describe what a grain makes me feel, e.g. the caps I use in my tube amps bring a chocolate stuffed with orange marmelade feel (note: some -rare- cap values ended with €10-30 parts, the "standard" ones I use for amp upgrades cost around 4-6x what is used by Mesa/Boogie)
Modelling stuff truly reminds me my hi-school chemistry lessons, but I'm not sure if it's the smell of hydrochloric or sulphuric acid...
Playing some Ligeti? Aren't you a bit on the masochist side?
I think I've chosen the Brian Eno way: I'm WAY too lazy to even consider this (or Fracture. Note that I liked your book a lot... Well, actually, even Eno works more than I do: I've became a master of escapism)...Kızılçay declared about Eno: "he cannot even play four bars ...[nor] play two harmonies together. [...]"

Quad cortex does not get the respect it deserves. People were just weirded out over the initial lack of pc software interface and the plugin integration, but the unit itself is amazing. Not just for guitar but for synths. I haven’t even scratched the surface on what it can do. The size and power of the unit make it perfect for me and my needs. The sound quality impressed me the most. I like not having to buy a wall of amps because the cloud service offers a wealth of tones that I would not be able to do so with otherwise.

It's really wonderful. I just wish it had fewer "rock and roll" sounds and some more experimental sounds built-in.

@@MakeWeirdMusic I remember the crazy things I would do with my Art sgx2000 and the dual expression controllers on the X15 , crazy dual pitch shiftery and stereo dly with up to I think 16 real-time variables … so fun , I remember making a Wha with just an expression controller and so many parameters of the EQ. ooh I miss my younger days of deep gear programming for no other reason than fun.
I had a sound that made the old transformers cartoon “transformer” sound . So fun.

James Plotkin has been combining his guitar as and oscillator, and using two Neural DSP’s through modular synths. I’d been lobbying Eurorack synth builders to incorporate guitar pedals into Eurorack. ;) The issue with DSP guitar processing is first a lot of programming and knowledge of the technical side of sound creation and then one has to be able to combine it all in the fly with foot pedals, time reference/clock and the human side of jamming with a band. That’s why I think pedal boards for jamming are better and then all in one DSP is better AFTER someone integrates it into songs and tempo, key changes and a little room for stretching out with live improvisations. It’s almost better to keep it simile and add things one step at a time. As you can hear with pedals like the MIcrocosm (just one of many) with minor tweaks and some expression you can be in a whole new sonic galaxy. Great for ideas, just as jamming with ChatGPT is fodder for creative stepping stones. Enjoy and hopefully see you at the next CON! ✌🏼

Enjoy the new extension of your imagination, Anthony! A new axe or new addition to your rig can lead to thinking about your instrument in new ways and spark creativity. Enjoy the journey!

Just when I thought we'd successfully killed off Thall/technical extreme death metal... 😅 😉
Sick guitar design, Anthony...and nice playing too! Those bottom strings instantly remind me of my GOATS from Sweden. 😁😎
Have you heard the new 05Ric track, LMKRD? It's a tribute to Jeff Beck. Pretty cool as always from Ric.

    Hello Sir,
First, thank you for your work, I follow your channel since many years. I'm coming from France so excuse me for my sloppy english.
I know this comment is off topic but I had to choose some place to ask you about this. If I'm not mistaken, you don't still have bring up the subject of AI.
Tomorrow, who will be able to make the difference between a real artist and a guy who will have used an AI to make nice and sophisticated music ?
Services already exist that allow people to have their instrumental piece made by an AI, those companies arguing that people don't need any musical skills to express themselves.
As a composer wannabe, who took many years to study music theory, orchestration and so on, this evolution is very castrating, and I'm asking to me if I should reorientating myself.
Will we have your views on this subject in a coming video ? Many viewers would be interesting, I think.
