    Nice! It’s not as easy as you make it look. I’ve been starting with a self made 7 kg gada and still can’t do it with only one arm.

      You can do it, just keep practicing, practicing, practicing, and when you have finished practicing, practice some more. That is my motto.

    Paul you are fantastic and my Gada swing role model - I just started. I would have one request if I may - what song / rhythm are you utilizing here?
    Thank you so much!

    Paul Taras Wolkowinski - Hi Paul, been following your stuff for some time now.
    Where did you find the music? I've been looking for a drum based type of music to help me keep a consistent tempo.

      Go to page www.indianclubs.com.au/2055/mix-it-up/
      and scroll to the bottom. There are two links there select the Gada and Persian Mil version. I have recorded these tracks myself, there is nothing available commercially.

    Dear Paul, thank you for uploading such a trove of info on club and mace swinging!
    May I ask you what the 'salute' is about that I see some of the practicioners do before first picking up a gada? You do it at 0.52. It's reminicent of the hurried sign of the cross some people do 'for good luck'. Yet I guess few practicioners are catholic though... :)
    Oh, and I just cast myself a 7.5 kg gada following your clay pot method. Worked out great! After years of clubbells I guess I was 'gada curious'.

      Hi Wintanclan, thanks for your comments. The salute is practiced in the akhara, it symbolises the act of becoming ONE with the gada and asking Hanuman the God of strength for permission and a blessing before you start to swing. I kinda like it. Glad to hear you have started to swing the Gada.

      +Paul Taras Wolkowinski thank you for your kind reply. I assumed it was a way of collecting due focus and paying respects to this awe inspiring object.
      I am practicing 360s in all 4 variants I can handle only a few repeats so far. Interestingly 1 variant is really still really sticking badly - the one in the opposite direction of my preferred grip/direction combo...

    What's a good weight to start with macebell?

    • @Wolkowinski
      @Wolkowinski  9 років тому

      +John Kwak 6 to 8 kgs, then 9 to 10 kgs. Don't make the handle too long, 4'6" max. Go to my website for instructions. www.indianclubs.com.au/gada-mace/home-made-clay-pot-gada-mace/
