My name is Rick (Richard Ventriglia. I played rhythm guitar on this record. The band members were myself, Jim Higgins (lead guitar), Bob Lucarelli (drums), Artie Higgins (bass guitar) and Rick Nordstrom (singer). We recorded this record in the teaching room next to the music store that was owned by John White who published this song. I had my one copy of this record for years but have since lost it. Brings back so many great memories.
Richard Ventriglia Groovy tune. How many copies were pressed? Was the band from CA ? What part ? After I heard The Hook 1965 I was hooked. Love that early garage rock guitar. Did the band have any more releases ? This 45 is a gem.
@@thomassmith8721 There were only 50 originally pressed. Each band member got one, the store owner got 20 to sell at his music store and the rest were given away at local place where the band played. That was the only recording we made. Thanks for your comment!
@@ventriglia48 GLORIOUS !! Why did you stop at just one 45 though?? thelisteningpostblog.wordpress.com/2023/10/12/song-of-the-day-the-naturals-the-hook/
I also have the guitar and the amp that was used on this recording it was a silver tone shallow body sunburst in color with 3 pickups with there own volume and tone knobs and the matching all tube amp
Sorry, but you are SO wrong! It was me, and I used to teach guitar at Singing Stings Music Store. I don't know who you are, but this was our original recording. Perhaps your father played in another band that also recorded it.
1965 was the year for the start of great garage records and this is one. Rog. Pacific sunset records.

Wrong recording John. This recording was made at Singing String Music Store on Arrow Highway in Azusa Ca. Sorry dude. You are so wrong on this.
Sorry Rick but you did NOT play guitar on this recording because that rhythm guitar was my father John Makroglous sr.
