I just got one of these humvee's from gov planet and it was missing this piece. I didn't know what went there. Thanks for the video brother! Very helpful :) I had the civilian version and its way too heavy, I'm going to lighten this one up at least 5000 lb, should make a little snappier round town driver, also with better interior. I got lucky and got a set of jankel seats, so this is going to come together nicely. the engine is my weak point LOL Thanks again for this part
For people who have a HMMWV with the fording value, you need a different CDR valve than shown. Bought mine as a kit with cdr, fording valve, data plate, a few feet of hose and clamps.👍
The CDR valve gets either cut, completely ripped out, or removed for demil process, for whatever reason, they want to demilitarize the deep-water fording kit function, as to why, I have exactly no clue on how it's a tactical weapon. They'll also completely rip out the deep water fording kit valve as well and on rare occasions, they'll just unscrew it out
I was wondering what that was all about. I had the civilian model with the fording setup... for real. you don't see many, most people just put a dummy snorkel on it for looks but mine was the real deal, polished aluminum factory tube. Your right nothing tactical about it. who's gonna drive their rig under water?
Only the USMC DWF (I haven't seen in person ANY US Army DWF outfitted trucks, only photos of Special Forces Ground Mobility Vehicle GMV HMMWV variants with DWF) outfitted HMMWV CDR are demilled, DWF components are ITAR controlled for export. Standard non-vented CDR are left intact. I have not seen in person ANY US Army DWF outfitted trucks, only photos of Special Forces Ground Mobility Vehicle GMV HMMWV variants with DWF. One particular is a 7th SFG GMV with DWF, possibly outfitted due to Central/South America being their AO, having to navigate water obstacles and/or Amazon Basin seasonal flooding.
They rip them out as part of the demil process. Mine was cut out. literally. It's weird because some of them AREN'T missing. Selective enforcement? LOL
Is it because some are specialized for the deep-water fording kit? Regardless I don't understand how that could possibly be a concern. Like there will be some major issue with civilians driving through creeks with a lower risk of damage lol.
Planning to do mine soon … along with the deep water fording kit. Im planning to remove the air intake housing in order to get better access … thoughts.
I've heard about this but had to look it up again. Here is the article I originally read about it- gear-report.com/humvee-diy-maintenance-hmmwv-transmission-vampire-repair/

Thanks! My humvee is missing this piece too.

Mine is going to a inlet on the upper manifold. Both valve covers are completely sealed. 1994 m996a1 with a 6.5 NA

I don’t even know if mine is missing. I’m about to replace valve cover gaskets. Mine is a 6.2 so maybe it doesn’t even have the valve. Will see.
@@Kevin24Seven you would think so but you can buy any variant online that they use. Clearly it's not that restricted. Lol
Will the Hmmvw 57K3568 6.5L Turbo Diesel Engine work on a 1996 chevy k3500 dually? civilian truck

No need to remove all that in my opinion, but that's up to you.
I found what appears to be transmission fluid in my air cleaning housing. Any thoughts?

is this cdr the fording kit needed
No, you will need to buy a special CDR for that.
